<a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/forever-skies/">Forever Skies</a>, the first-person survival game will leave Early Access soon. The game's developers have planned to roll it out as an exclusive for <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps5/forever-skies/">PS5</a>.

The full version of Forever Skies is set to be released this year, indie studio Far From Home announced. In addition, they have partnered with Sony Interactive Entertainment for its PlayStation debut.

Greg Cummings, Community Manager of Far From Home, said that Forever Skies will launch as a PlayStation 5 exclusive.

Sony is also reported to provide development funding and support for the game's full version.

While the game is heading to PlayStation, developers clarified that it will not affect its PC edition. According to Andrzej Blumenfeld, Gameplay Lead, the release date for PC will be in tandem with its PlayStation release.

"Worry not though, this will not affect the ongoing development or release of the Steam version which will come out at the same time," he said.

"So, at the end of PC Early Access when we're ready to release the full game, we'll be launching it on PlayStation 5 for console," Blumenfeld added.

The final version of the game will support both <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps5/best/single-player/">single-player</a> and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps5/best/coop/">co-op</a> of up to four players.

Meanwhile, developers vowed to provide new content and game improvements in the coming weeks. They will roll out Forever Skies' next major content update between March and April. It will contain a new story chapter and new locations. A complex airship gardening system and new equipment are also expected.

Forever Skies made its debut on PC via Steam in 2023.

It takes players to a post-apocalyptic earth where they need to survive and thrive in the aftermath of an ecological disaster. The game combines <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps5/best/survival/">survival</a>, science-fiction, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps5/best/open-world/">open-world</a>, and shooter elements. /###

First-Person Survival Forever Skies to Debut as PS5 Exclusive

More players can now access and experience the mail carrier simulation <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/lake/">Lake</a>.

Gamious and Whitethorn Games recently announced that they will port their popular cozy sim to the Nintendo Switch. Lake went live on Switch consoles beginning February 15, they said.

Lake's expansion to Switch came two years after it got ported to <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps5/lake/">PS5</a> and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/lake/">PS4</a> and the now-defunct Stadia.

The critically acclaimed game was first released for <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/lake/">PC</a>, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/xbox-series-x/lake/">Xbox Series X</a> and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/xbox-one/lake/">Xbox One</a> in 2021. Since its launching, Lake has garnered positive reviews from both gamers and critics alike.

Set in 1986, players take control of the protaganist Meredith Weiss.

After leaving the big city, she returns to her lakeside hometown of Providence Oaks, Oregon for two weeks. They must guide the 40-year-old Meredith in helping her father deliver mail and parcels.

"During her two-week stay in beautiful Providence Oaks, Oregon, she runs into a few familiar faces as well as plenty of new folks," the game's description reads.

Aside from her carrier job, Lake contains mini-events such as after-work activities. This means Meredith can hang out with friends, help out your neighbors, or stay in with a good book.

The game also allows players to make choices along the way. These included deciding whom Meredith gets to talk to, befriend, and even start a relationship.

"At the end of her vacation, will Meredith return to the big city, or will she choose a different path for her life? It’s up to players to steer the story how they see fit in this slice-of-life interactive game," publishers added.

Lake received multiple accolades since its launching such as being shortlisted for the Best Game in the <a href="https://indiearenabooth.de/Award2021">Indie Arena Booth 2021</a>. It was also named as an Official Selection for the <a href="https://www.ludonarracon.com/ludonarracon-2021">LudoNarraCon Showcase 2021</a>. On whatoplay, Lake has the highest playscore of 7.6 on PC./ ###

Lake, the Cozy Mail Carrier Sim, Ports to Switch

<a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/demon-slayer-kimetsu-no-yaiba--sweep-the-board/">Demon Slayer: Sweep the Board!</a>, the <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/upcoming/">upcoming Switch</a> game inspired by the hit <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/best/anime/">anime</a> series, is nearing its launch. And creators have another surprise for fans and interested players.

Publisher SEGA dropped the latest trailer for Demon Slayer: Sweep the Board! With a run time of at least two minutes, the video provided a nearly comprehensive preview of the game. It gave a closer look into its core gameplay, mechanics, and even the minigames.

<div class="video-responsive">
 <iframe width="1396" height="794" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/6vLauYWNomA" title="Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- Sweep the Board! | Game Overview" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe>
</div>

The trailer began with character selection, with the gameplay preview confirming that it is a <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/best/multiplayer/">multiplayer</a> game that can support up to four players. Some of the Demon Slayer cast spotted in the video included the protagonist Tanjiro Kamado, Inosuke Hashibira, and Zenitsu Agatsuma.

Other playable characters seen in the teaser were Shinobu Kocho, Mitsuri Kanroji, and Shinobu Kocho, to name a few.

Audiences also got a glimpse of the characters' combat styles and scenes. The game contained a feature called “Demon Slayer Dice”. With this, each Demon-Slayer swordsman has their own set of dice that has unique special effects according to that character, publishers described.

"Once used, a cooldown timer of 3 turns begins, so they will need to use this feature effectively. Finally, if a different character joins your group, you will be able to use their Demon Slayer Dice," they added.

The newest trailer for Demon Slayer: Sweep the Board! also showed iconic locations from the anime series such as Tsuzumi Mansion, Mt. Natagumo, and the Mugen Train.

It was confirmed that the game will feature dynamic boards that shift between day and night. This means players can participate in events and minigames to hone their skills and collect rank points in the day. However, as night falls, they need to prepare themselves against fearsome demons.

Demon Slayer: Sweep the Board! will hit Nintendo Switch devices in the Americas and Europe this April 26. Meanwhile, pre-orders for the physical edition of the game are available at select retailers. / ###

Demon Slayer: Sweep the Board! Gets New Trailer Ahead of Release

Samurai <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/best/jrpg/">JRPG</a> <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/fate-samurai-remnant/">Fate/Samurai Remnant</a> just unleashed its first downloadable content (DLC).

On February 9, KOEI TECMO America and developer Omega Force unrolled Keian Command Championship! The first content update for <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps5/fate-samurai-remnant/">Fate/Samurai Remnant</a> can be played on PC, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch.

<a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/fate-samurai-remnant/">Fate/Samurai Remnant</a> contained a new story, characters, and more action-packed battles, KOEI TECMO said. Creators of the popular action-adventure game first teased fans about the content update in a trailer video last January.

 <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/XWXuxfGqy44?si=JVrZmD4LHDUf1MrD" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe>
</div>

Keian Command Championship! throws players into a mysterious arena orchestrated by the mysterious Babyloni-ya boss. There, they must survive the no-holds-barred tournament Keian Command Championship. The game pits Masters and Servants against legendary fighters from the Fate universe.

The expansion also introduced new playable characters such as the Rider. They can also take control of existing ones like the iconic duo Iori and Saber.

<div class="video-responsive">

</div>

"Between matches, players will discover new cutscenes and learn more about the characters," KOEI TECMO said.

"And if they manage to win the tournament, players will unlock an ending sequence unique to each team," they added.
But the roster does not stop there.

Keian Command Championship! gave players the chance to recruit two legendary characters. This included a new servant, divine spirit Ibuki-Douji. They also had the chance to recruit the Babyloni-ya boss himself, publishers added. All they had to do was fulfill several in-game challenges.

Keian Command Championship! is free for players who have the season pass for <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/fate-samurai-remnant/">Fate/Samurai</a> Remnant.

Fate/Samurai Remnant was first released in September 2023. It can be accessed on <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/fate-samurai-remnant/">PC</a>, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps5/fate-samurai-remnant/">PS5</a>, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/fate-samurai-remnant/">PS4</a>, and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps5/fate-samurai-remnant">Switch</a> devices. More details about <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/neon-blood/">Neon Blood</a>, the upcoming cyberpunk <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/best/rpg/">RPG</a>, have been revealed.

Publisher Meridiem Games on February 8 dropped a new trailer for Neon Blood, titled Welcome to Viridis.

<div class="video-responsive">
 <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/p4xXM8ivmyU?si=vV6J01JbtzbHMRc2" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe>
</div>

Running for more than a minute, it gave its audiences a first look into the world of Viridis. Several gameplay previews, including combat and exploration scenes, were also featured. Meridiem has tapped Madrid-based animation company Sunshine in fleshing out the futuristic megapolis as well as producing its trailers.

On the other hand, Neon Blood is slated for release on PC and PlayStation via digital stores. While the launching date has to be revealed, Meridiem Games announced they will release the game 'later this year'. They also confirmed that the game will also be available for <a href="https://whatoplay.com/xbox-series-x/neon-blood/">Xbox</a> and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/neon-blood/">Nintendo Switch</a> soon.

<a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps5/neon-blood/">Neon Blood</a> is being developed by <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps5/best/indie/">indie</a> game studio ChaoticBrain Studios. It contains a fusion of <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps5/best/jrpg">JRPG</a> and turn-based combat elements. The action-adventure game also uses a combination of 2.5D, 2D PixelArt sprites, and 3D-modeled environments.

Set in 2053, players will be taken to a futuristic megacity of Viridis, which is fraught with class struggles. After World War III, humanity was reduced to surviving and living between two cities. These are the luxurious Bright City and the dystopian Blind City.

In Viridis, they will guide Blind City detective Axel McCoin in tracing the roots of inequality there. And his mission? To dismantle the corrupt power structures that led to the stark class divide between the two cities.

As Axel fights for justice, he will also encounter powerful allies and formidable foes. This means players can fight enemies, thanks to the game's JRPG and turn-based elements.

In the meantime, Meridiem has teamed up with Astrolabe to showcase Neon Blood for Steam's Chinese New Year Steam sale. /###

Demo Version Now Online for Kingdom: The Blood

Strange Horticulture, the critically acclaimed <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/best/puzzle/">puzzle</a> game, is expanding to more platforms. This year, PlayStation owners can finally visit and experience the mysteries in the fictional world of Undermere.

Bad Viking and Iceberg Interactive announced they will release <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps5/strange-horticulture/">Strange Horticulture</a> on <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps5/strange-horticulture/">PS5</a> and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/strange-horticulture/">PS4</a>. Console players can get their hands on the occult game this February 23, the indie studios added.

Strange Horticulture's port to PlayStation came months after the game's <a href="https://whatoplay.com/xbox-series-x/strange-horticulture/">Xbox release</a> last August 2023.

First launched for PC, the <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/best/indie/">indie</a> game is about running a plant store in Undermere, a quaint town with a dark secret. Players become a horticulturist in a world of ancient mysteries involving powerful plants, covens, cults, and hags.

The game involved sorting and naming a collection of mysterious plants to solve puzzles based on the store’s customers’ needs. With the help of the Strange Book of Plants, they can organize and tag plants by their features such as smell, leaf and petal shape, and even healing powers.

Strange Horticulture also allows players to explore mystical lands beyond their store. Doing so, they can discover new plants and advance the story by discovering new places on a map with squares. To achieve this, players need to get the “will to explore” by finishing customer requests and taking care of plants. Players can also use hints to find the location of new plants or events, such as getting coordinates from the map’s place names.

Since its debut in 2022, Strange Horticulture garnered positive reviews both from players and critics. It also won several accolades. These included <a href="https://www.ign.com/articles/best-puzzle-game-2022">PC Gamer's Best Puzzle Game 2022</a>. In addition, the game was named as a finalist in the <a href="https://igf.com/archive/2022">Independent Games Festival</a> and <a href="https://mcvuk.com/business-news/here-are-the-finalists-for-the-2023-mcv-develop-awards/">MCV Develop</a>.

Strange Horticulture is available on <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/strange-horticulture/">PC</a> (Windows and MacOS), <a href="https://whatoplay.com/xbox-series-x/strange-horticulture/">Xbox Series X</a>, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/xbox-one/strange-horticulture/">Xbox One</a>, and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/strange-horticulture/">Switch</a>. It has playscore of 9.2 on PC.

Strange Horticulture is Coming to PlayStation

The creators of Metro are adding another chapter in the hit, post-apocalyptic franchise.

During Sony's State of Play last Jan. 31, Vertigo Games and Deep Silver unveiled <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/metro-awakening/">Metro Awakening</a>.

The upcoming title will also be the first VR-enabled game in the Metro series. Officially releasing on PC and PS5, Metro Awakening will support the PlayStation VR2, Meta Quest 2 and 3, and PC VR headsets. While no release date has been revealed, it is expected to make its debut this year.

Metro Awakening will be a standalone game, and a prequel to <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/metro-2033/">Metro 2033</a>, publishers at Vertigo Games said.

It will feature an original lore from Dmitry Glukhovsky himself, the author of the Metro novel on which the games were based. Players will take the role of Serdar, a doctor searching for his wife in the aftermath of a nuclear war.

"This origins story is so essential to me," said Glukhovsky.

"It feels like returning to the foundations and roots of the series - now to the level that VR technology can bring," he added.

Development for Metro Awakening started two and half years ago, said Samar Louwe, Associate Game Director at Vertigo Games.

Vertigo Games also revealed the game's trailer, giving fans and interested players a first look into the newest Metro title. It showed Metro's iconic dark and dangerous tunnels of Moscow where mutants, bandits, and other threats lurk.

<div class="video-responsive">
	<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/l5GKwGm_-Ds?si=X73TBgu17Twv6BmM" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe>
</div>

Like its predecessors, it will feature single-player, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/best/first-person-shooter/">first-person shooter</a> gameplay. But this time, players can expect a 'more visceral and heart-pounding' experience.

"With the addition of adaptive triggers and headset haptics on PS VR2, we were able to add tactile sensations to pulling our weapons’ triggers and getting hit by bullets. It’s nuances like these that push the level of immersion in VR even further on a visceral level," said Louwe.

Meanwhile, Metro Awakening is not the only Metro game in development. 4A Games also revealed they are working on the next mainline installment of the series. / ###
