Here's our full and updated list of the best FREE Android and iOS Games.

The playscore is an average of gamer and critic ratings. If a game only receives ratings from gamers BUT NOT from critics, it receives a gamerscore.

15. Epic Card Game on Android and iOS

White Wizard Games is dipping their toes in the collectible card game market. Though it doesn't look like they wanted to spend too much time thinking up the name, it does have some deep enough mechanics to back it up--at least for this month's top FREE ranks. As the latest venture from tabletop RPG legends, it's generated a lot of intrigue but it might not be at the same level of polish as Blizzard's and Cygame's successful titles yet.

At the moment, its AI campaign is a little unbalanced, and its presentations, unpolished. But there's definitely a lot of potential brewing for this game where good plays rule over all.

It has a gamerscore of 8.48 on the Android.

14. Dadish on Android and iOS

If there's one thing we can assure, it's that this game's paternal root crop is more than a little rad. From indie developer Thomas Young, this game brings us to a colorful retro pixel world filled with puzzles, danger, and some rad kids too cool for their radish dad.

It's all too easy to get pulled into the game's fun dialog, and engaging atmosphere of health food vs fast food. But, it also poses some fun challenges within its many cute levels and stages. Watch out for saws and spikes, and be extra careful with your precious double jumps. At the end of the day, though, it's the pure simplicity that makes this game great. If you can sit through a few ads, you'll love this.

It gets playscores of 8.79 on the Android, and 8.78 on the iOS

13. Draw Climber

This is one of those multiplayer games, that despite its barebones construction, still manages to enter the top ranks of our free mobile lists. Voodoo's Draw Climber is about as straightforward as their title suggests. In it, all you have to do is to make up limbs for your square racers. With certain obstacles guaranteed to get in your way, you'll need to strategize your appendages well for maximum speed, reach, and grappling abilities.

The matches, if they are real, are short enough and the rewards plenty so it is pretty fun to watch for a short burst. That is, if you don't mind the usual flurry of ads. It has a gamerscore of 8.80

12. Dungeon iDollon Android and iOS

Who said idle games have to be boring? That's certainly not the case in this action-packed RPG from LinkTown. Combining the strengths of role-playing, idle games, and the idol aesthetics, Dungeon iDoll brings the best of those three worlds.

Watch the story unfold as you play manager to a growing party of warriors bent on striking back against the demons invading their world. As your team automatically dukes it out with various monsters in their infinite dungeons, all you have to do is level up their skills, cast powerful attacks, and collect more adventurers.

A fun game, albeit with an understandably long grind, it gets a gamerscore of 8.95.

11. Decor Dream: Home Design Game and Match-3 on Android and iOS

The age of the story-based match-three puzzle game has just begun and By Aliens Studio is rising to the occasion. Unlike match-three puzzle games with just grid after grid, this simulation game offers you something extra to reward you for your good wits.

With Decor Dream, you're both puzzler and interior decorator. With every newly completed stage, you'll unlock new and better items to deck each dream house. While it's not always yours, the satisfaction of completing each project is just the same.

It receives gamerscores of 9.23 on the Android, and 8.71 on the iOS.

10. Shadow Seven

After a break into match-three puzzles, we're back in the world of collectible card games. It might not be a White Wizard Games, but Neptune Company can win you over with sheer style. For fans of the Japanese aesthetic, Shadow Seven is rich with detail, showing their flair in their character designs, environments, and the overarching story of captains against Devil King.

Despite a less than an appealing interface, the game's combat system actually has its own charm, with its unique captains and hardline focus card management and overall strategy. At the end of the day, however, it's still a gacha and the grind for those legendary items will be tough but the journey seems enjoyable enough.

It gets a gamerscore of 9.38 on the iOS.

9. XROSS CHRONICLE on iOS and Android

If it's high-quality games you want, then you'll definitely love this. What you need to understand about it, is that it spared no expense. It came here to tell everyone a good story, and it does just that--not just with the usual flat style, but with straight-up 3D goodness all the way.

On top of visuals, the quality is also obvious with its music and gameplay, gacha mechanics notwithstanding. Because of its visuals-heavy design, it might take a toll on your phones and wifi. And as a gacha game, you should definitely be careful with spending too much on what some see as unfair rates.

With some download troubles on the iPhones and iPads, it's still thriving on the Android with gamerscores of 6.97 and 9.39 respectively.

8. World War Doh: Real Time PvP on iOS and Android

The 3D goodness continues with this strategy card game from Jam City. Following their previous puzzler hits, World War Doh is entirely different from their usual repertoire.

As a game about a world war of clay citizens, all exploding and wrestling for control, it definitely feels more grown-up. But, seeing as their dancing, dabbing, destroying their way to victory every time, it's not by much. The Clash Royale mechanics you love are updated into a wacky, modern play-doh world and it might be just what you need.

World War Doh receives gamerscores of 9.39 on the iOS and 8.41 on the Android.

7. Election Year Knockout

There are no parties and running mates in this election knockout. American politics has always been a spectacle but this game takes that to a whole new level. Presenting iconic officeholders from then and now as witty caricatures ready to square it off in the long-running "campaign", Exceptionull's Election Knockouts isn't just funny, it's also a hell of a lot of fun.

Bring your boxing skills up a notch as you create your own character and party to face off with the likes of Ted Bruz, A-OH, Cap'n Crenshaw and so much more.

It celebrates its iOS debut with a high-flying gamerscore of 9.54.

6. Heroes Bash on iOS and Android

We're really getting a taste of good strategies this month. Prepare to go on an epic adventure across the islands in another high caliber card strategy.

Building upon the formula crafted by Clash of Clans and Lords Mobile, Heroes Bash tries to do it all--from exciting multiplayer dungeon raids and story-driven campaigns, each with awesome characters and units to play around with. To top it all off, they also provide you with the best content to keep you adventuring in the Bash Isles.

It's far from a perfect experience. There will be ads, sure, but for a free-to-play game, it's progression seems fair enough for more than a few hours of entertainment.

It gets gamerscores of 9.64 on the iOS, and 9.55 on the Android.

5. Cookies Must Die on iOS and Android

A platformer that explodes with energy, this casual indie mobile game by Cezary Rajkowski can definitely scratch your itch for cookie destruction. We aren't talking about your run of the mill oatmeal stuff, we're talking about HUGE, sentient foodstuffs who are out to kick your projectile-flying butt. Thankfully, the game also gives you a whole arsenal of upgrades to destroy every living chocolate chip out there.

With challenges at every turn, the going will get tough and you might eventually need to cash in to get through. However, for the first few hours at least, you'll be treated that some sweet high-quality action you're craving.

It receives gamerscores of 9.67 on the iOS and 9.31 on the Android.

4. Symphogear XD UNLIMITED on iOS and Android

Another anime has made its move towards the mobile this month. Now, you can bring the adventures of Satelight's awesome idols wherever you go, battling out against the vicious Noise once more using the iconic Symphogears.

Your favorite characters have all come to play in this Unlimited version. Shining their voices into and across the battlefield are Hibiki, Tsubasa, Chris, Maria, and so much more.

While fans of the anime will enjoy all-new exclusive stories and tons of new illustrations, non-fans can still get a kick of out of their addictive turn-based combat system.

It's not available in all countries yet, but it gets gamerscores of 9.74 on the iOS and a 9.00 on the Android.

3. Lucid Adventure on Android and iOS

Idle RPG fans are getting their field day this month with the arrival of this new game from Super Planet. This isn't exactly new though. Set within the universe of the popular webtoon called Hardcore Leveling Warrior, Lucid Adventures continues on from the warrior's fall from the number one rank.

To get back on his feet, he needs the help of four other adventurers to find out what happened to his stats and save the world of Lucid Adventure. Create the ultimate party from their various choices and level up their skills to withstand the hordes of monsters ahead.

The artstyle may be on the cute side, but its sidescrolling gameplay does pack a lot of punch. Especially considering its many PvP modes that will test your grit and strategies against players around the globe.

The Android version may be in some trouble with a gamerscore of 7.43, it's thriving on the iOS with a gamerscore of 9.74.

2. I Love Hue Too on iOs and Android

Ambition is impressive, but sometimes all it takes is the polished execution of a simple idea. That is exactly what Zut Games' I Love Hue offers. At its core, all it wants is to be a puzzler. But, ultimately, it's much more than that.

As you get through harder and harder levels, you find your brains don't always see the same as your eyes and in no time you'll be doubting your senses too. It's never frustrating though. You'll get used to the mixing of palettes and soon it becomes a relaxing adventure, not unlike figuring out the patterns of a jigsaw puzzle.

For a not-so-wild ride of quiet bewilderment, this game has got you covered with gamerscores of 9.77 on the iOS, and 9.52 on the Android.

1. Shadowgun War Games - PvP FPS on iOS and Android

Again, our number one is the game with a full playscore.

For long-time fans of mobile first-person shooters, this game will probably look familiar. Madfinger Games follows up their Shadowgun Legends success with this team-based arena shooter. In this new title, they retain their signature stunning visuals and bring the spunk with their roster of five characters.

That might not sound like much, but the lineup covers all the basic 5v5 formula, with tanks, supports, damage dealers. Using touch controls for real-time first-person shooting will always be a little iffy, but War Games also falls short on content and affordable microtransactions.

On the other hand, with portable Overwatch still a little out of reach, this is still our best alternative. That’s why it’s our best FREE game this month with a playscore of 8.00

Top 15 FREE Android & iOS Games of February 2020

While Nintendo was initially weary of pumping out games for mobile devices, it looks like they’re slowly changing their minds. One of their biggest games to come to Android and iOS was Mario Kart Tour, and the studio has just announced that Multiplayer is finally coming to the game.

Here’s the official announcement on Twitter:

Multiplayer for #MarioKartTour comes out on Mar. 8, 8 PM PT! You can compete against seven other players, whether they're in-game friends, nearby, or around the world. Are you ready to play?

As far as online options go, standard match-ups feature two rule changes in a dat and allow for 100cc races. On the other hand, Gold races, which are exclusive to players with a Gold Pass, will feature four rule changes, and it allows 150cc and 200cc races.

It was initially said that Nintendo was initially hesitant to get into mobile games since it could veer away focus from their main console sales, but seeing as the Nintendo Switch was a huge hit, it seems that the company doesn’t have too much to worry about. If anything, the mobile titles are there to help entice players to check out the more ‘full’ experience of the actual games.

Multiplayer is Finally Coming to Mario Kart Tour

Delay Season affected the succeeding month’s triple A gaming releases. Here's our list of all upcoming games.

1. Resident Evil 3 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One

CAPCOM knows the remake formula works and they’re about to bring back their most revered classic to life. This full-blown remake takes Jill Valentine and her cat and mouse chase with video game's iconic monster, The Nemesis.

Resident Evil 3 serves as a prequel to Resident Evil 2, taking place hours before Claire and Leon’s journey. It still shares the same over the shoulder shooter with deep survival-horror elements. Every bullet counts and every encounter is a risk.

In addition to RE’s success, CAPCOM also included a multiplayer mode called Resident Evil Resistance as a separate mode. Players will enjoy building their own torture chamber or become the very victims of a madman’s game. Both are coming this 3rd of April, 2020 for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

2. Disaster Report 4 Plus: Summer Memories on PS4, PC, and Switch

There’s not a lot of Disaster games on the market. Granzella’s action-adventure game focuses on real-life calamities.

Disaster Report isn’t your standard videogame, there are no boss fights to encounter, enemies to defeat or powerful weapons to obtain. It’s simply a mini-puzzle journey where you, as a player, find ways to help over 60 characters escape in this earthquake-struck city.

In a way, it’s a game that teaches most players the proper procedures during dangerous earthquakes. Coming this April 7 for the PlayStation 4, PC, and the Switch.

3. Final Fantasy VII: Remake

CAPCOM and Square Enix will take over the month of April. Cloud and his friends are shedding off their polygonal bodies and are jumping into next-gen visuals in this ambitious Remake.

Like Resident Evil 3 Remake, VII is also rebuilt from the ground up featuring new features that the original couldn’t even compare. Focusing more on the action-adventure perspective, players no longer engage in turn-based battles as the game shifts to real-time combat.

Switch between characters on the fly and stop the greedy Shinra from destroying the planet. It’s only but Part One of VII’s ultimate adventure, but there are more surprises in store here that we can’t wait to uncover. Coming this April 10 as a PlayStation 4 Exclusive.

4. Space Engineers

If you’re itching for some tinkering then Keen Software House’s sandbox sci-fi game is the right kind of tool for the job.

Everything in this game is explorable, destructible and buildable. Like Kerbal Space Program, it’s your sanctuary of technological feats. Build space stations, planetary outposts, and travel to the vastness of the galaxy using your basic architectural knowledge. Go solo or grab friends and pick between its Survival or Creative mode.

Its PC version is already out on Steam for quite some time now, but its Xbox One release is coming this April 11, 2020.

5. Someday You’ll Return on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One

This Psychological Horror game from the creators of J.U.L.I.A.: Among the Stars will elevate the walking simulator genre with its slew of unique mechanics. The story involves a father looking for his missing daughter
.

Instead of the usual going from point A to point B by purely walking, players will navigate around a vast Bohemian forest full of secrets. Interact around its myriad of activities such as crafting and wall climbing. Although it doesn’t really bring anything new to the table, the Karmic system adds a variety to the story, creating consequences for the choices the player makes. It’s set to release this April 14 for the PC, PS4, and X1.

6. Nerved

This first-person psychological horror game from Ator Neba is very much like any other horror stories out there. You Play as a Paranormal Investigator searching for clues in a large, eerie forest.

If you’re familiar with Slenderman or Outlast, you’ll know the more you explore its decrepit zones, the world gets increasingly demented with more eyes staring back at you in every dark corner. Its fragmented story becomes clear the longer you play the game, just don’t let its chilling audio get to your nerves. Coming this 15 of April on the PC.

7. Artificer

After crash landing on a mysterious and hostile planet, a team of space explorers tries their best to survive the alien environment. Sounds familiar? If it reminds you of the hit mobile game Crashlands, then they’re pretty much the same, except this one from Psilocybe mixes science and magic into one sandbox adventure.

Learn the alien secrets of this unpredictable planet and unlock the power of the arcane. Use these magical abilities to defend yourself from the planet’s extraterrestrial threats. It’s a whole new world for you to exploit and explore. Coming this April 16 for the PC.

8. Hellpoint on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch

Enter a derelict spaceship in this action-RPG from Cradle Games. Take on the role of a Warrior capable of decimating a horde of Lovecraftian monsters that terrorize the ship. It borrows inspiration from notable action-RPGs like Darksiders where players can equip powerful weapons with unique properties.

Aside from its action-oriented plot, the interconnected nature of the ship makes room for exploration. Giving players a Metroidvania-like experience as they look for secrets and face deadly bosses. A local couch co-op is also available if playing alone seems like a chore. It comes out this 16th of April for the PC, PS4, X1, and Switch.

9. Predator: Hunting Grounds on PC and PlayStation 4

This upcoming game based on the Predator movie isn't exactly making the best impressions right now. Especially not with graphics that seem a little too outdated for the console.

On the other hand, it still offers an exciting double look at being both vulnerable human hunters and the Predator himself. Developer Ilfonic is already well-known for creating the asymmetrical co-op game, Friday the 13th.

Now they're making use of their expertise in creating the same experience with the Predator license. It’s time to get hunt or get hunted as the game comes out this April 24 for the PC and PS4.

10. Trials Of Mana on PC, PlayStation 4, and Switch

Aside from Final Fantasy VII Remake, one of the major surprises of Square Enix’s presentation was the return of the fan-favorite JRPG. A fresh new look to the third entry of the Mana series, this remake is made for both old and new players.

Players will be delighted to know that they will be returning to the magical land filled with darkness, light and a huge mystical tree. The changes are obvious and players can experience a different kind of Trials of Mana, but with the same story. It’s coming out this April 24 for the PC, PS4, and Switch.

11. Gears Tactics

The Coalition has finally come up with the idea of transforming their critically-acclaimed cover-shooter into a Tactics game. Much like the original series, it’s a fast-paced shooter with added turn-based mechanics. This will take up a lot of your time as you devise strategies to take down the Locust Horde efficiently. It’s as if XCOM has met its match.

Recruit a ragtag group of soldiers and customize their arsenal for some heavy firepower against your enemies and huge bosses. Microsoft has taken a huge leap for this franchise, and let’s hope this new title will please Gears fans, especially with its Triple-A price tag. Coming this 28 of April for the PC.

12. SnowRunner on PC, PS4, and Xbox One

It’s time we let go of the good ol’ countryside and into the frozen tundras in this brand new truck simulator game from Saber Interactive and Focus Home Interactive. SnowRunner is all about plowing that rough patch of snow and mud with a variety of machines to choose from.

There are over 15 sandbox maps to explore, each with their own unique terrains. Overcome its extreme hazards by selecting from a huge roster of heavy-duty vehicles from manufacturers like Pacific, Navistar, and a whole lot more. It’s set to release this April 28 for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

13. Sakura Wars

The sixth in the mainline entries, Project Sakura Wars plays like a soft reboot for the franchise. It's a mix of many different genres rolled into one. 15 Upcoming Games for April 2020 (PC, PS4, Switch, Xbox One)

Death Stranding was initially sold as a PS4-exclusive, but fans were happy to hear that Kojima Productions was going to bring the world of Sam Porter Bridges to PC. We know that the game was coming in 2020, but now we have an official release date.

Here’s the announce trailer:

We only have to wait until June 2 to get Death Stranding on Steam or the Epic Games Store. Pre-orders will actually get you a lot of goods, add to that the PC version boasts a higher frame rate, ultra-wide screen support, and a photo mode.

There is also some Half-Life inspired bonus content, what with Sam wearing the headcrab hat; the tech gloves at the beginning were actually a reference as well, and Sam having that valve in the back of his head was a reference to, well, Valve
.

Death Stranding was met with mixed reviews when it came out, but I’m curious just how different things will be when it comes to PC. A lot of people have been praising Kojima for his ingenuity when it comes to games, but at some point, some are saying that DS was just a boring walking simulator. I guess we’ll just have to wait for the PC release to see what that branch of gamers thinks.

Death Stranding comes to PC on June 2; the game is currently available for the PS4.

Square Enix’s remake of Final Fantasy VII is set to come out next month, and ahead of the anticipation, players will actually get a chance to try out the demo now.

This the official description according to the PlayStation store:

Enjoy the first chapter of FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE─the iconic Mako Reactor 1 bombing mission─with this demo version.

It’s worth noting that progress in the demo won’t carry over to the actual game when it releases, and it’s still possible that there could be changes when it comes to the final version of the game.

Though there are already a lot of people excited for the release of the remake, it’s pretty great that Square Enix is giving players the chance to try out a little taste of the game for free. Then again, it’s al in the name of finding out problems with the game that could otherwise be overlooked.

Rumor has it that Final Fantasy VII Remake is actually the first of a series of games from Square, but this will still feel like a “full game” upon release. Hopefully this won’t be just a treat for fans of the original, but a nice jumping point for gamers unfamiliar with the franchise.

In Midgar, a city controlled by the mega-conglomerate Shinra Inc., the No. 1 Mako Reactor has been blown up by a rebel group, AVALANCHE. AVALANCHE was secretly formed to wage a rebellion against Shinra Inc., an organisation which is absorbing Mako energy, destroying the natural resources of the planet. Cloud, a former member of Shinra's elite combat force, SOLDIER, was involved with the bombing of the Mako Reactor. Can Cloud and AVALANCHE protect the planet from the huge, formidable enemy, Shinra Inc.?

Armed with only a sword and a bow, explore the spacious lands and unearth each Colossus, presenting a unique challenge to test your wits, determination, and skill.

Fantasy games are easy enough to find, but sometimes famines, plagues, and power are all you need. For that, here's our lineup for the top 10 medieval video game titles for the PC.

This ranking showcases the best strategy, adventure, and more.
10. Chivalry: Medieval Warfare

We're starting off with something straightforward with this game from Torn Banner Studios. Just from the title itself, it's already oozing with medieval-ness. But despite the name, Chivalry, the religious, moral, and social code that knights abide by, doesn't seem all too present here.

As a multiplayer hack and slash game, your only goal is to fight for glory. What makes Chivalry special, is its melee combat which, like the landlords of its time, is well-executed. With its first-person perspective, you'll get to step into suits of armor to fight against opponents with swords, maces, long-bows and more from their medieval armory.

Though it's set in a fictionalized world, it does present pretty believable middle ages. complete with the appropriate artillery for dueling, pillaging, and storming the gates. Released in 2012, Chivalry, the franchise, certainly isn't dead, with a sequel coming sometime in 2020.

But for now, it's a great Medieval jump-off point with a playscore of 8

9. Banished

Offering us a little break from the fighting is Shining Rock Software's city-building strategy. In Banished, you're tasked to be the sole authority of a community's resources and the citizens that fall under you.

It's a beautiful simulation, with minimalist visuals and stunning architecture that make you feel immersed in their isolated wilderness. But, it's not the visuals that gave Banished its name, it's the fact that this game is more of a survival than your run of the mill city builder.

In a world of slow growth, breakable tools, and the ravages of the seasons, the game has a way of delivering challenges at every turn. It’s that refreshing difficulty that makes it actually fun.

While it means, livelihoods, and difficulties might seem pretty medieval to most of us, historians might beg to disagree. But, if you are hankering for more of castles, shiny armors, and feudal systems, Banished actually has mods that will gladly give you that experience.

It has a playscore of 8.09

8. Mordhau

No, you’re not seeing double. Released just in 2019, Mordhau basically improves on what Chivalry offered. It's still pretty much a multiplayer-only hack and slash game, emphasizing hand to hand combat using the weapons of the medieval age.

But, with the benefit of today's tech, we get a more modern, less clunky experience. Though it may not be the best-looking game, it nails most of what it aimed to do, especially in their frontlines mode where you get to play in a large scale battlefield with up to 60 other people.

On top of the refined combat experience, there's also the customization which allows you to create and edit their own mercenaries, from body type, face, and voice, to armor types and weapons that affect the way you fight in the battlefield.

It's a realistic take on the middle age combat, and paired with its vibrant visuals, Mordhau is a great hub for fans of the period.

It has a playscore of 8.1

7. Kingdom

Though it abandons all notions of realism, this game's spin on the medieval monarchy is hard to miss. Playing as a king or queen on horseback, it challenges you to create your own kingdom amidst its procedurally generated 2D lands.

With just a few gold coins at your disposal, you'll turn peasants into loyal subjects in no time, building castles out of wood and stone. But the twist comes at nighttime, with hordes of creatures bent on raiding your vaults and challenging your claim.

It's ultimately a strategy and resource management hybrid, with a simplicity that makes it easy to get players hooked. However, with not enough variety despite its expansive randomly generated world, that simplicity does come at a cost. But if it's an experience you want, Kingdom's gorgeous pixel art style and beautiful soundtrack gladly deliver.

It has a playscore of 8.14

6. Assassin's Creed II

What is arguably the height of the Assassin's Creed series, this second installment took us into the shoes of Ezio Auditore da Firenze, from his birth in Florence to the subsequent events of his life in different parts of Italy.

Ezio's adventures have always been a highlight of the series, as it took us into the lives of 15th-century icons through his perspective of important events. Featuring renaissance icons, and, most especially, Desmond's time outside of the Animus, it's not strictly a Middle Age drama.

But, with the use of its open-world format and its engaging assassin combat, it offers an up-close, albeit heavily fictionalized, look at the period that you won't get anywhere else. Explore the 15th and 16th centuries as Ezio takes on a quest of vengeance against his family’s traitors and the infamous Knights Templar. Live amongst the assassins, fight with their weapons, and admire the architecture.

All that, for a playscore of 8.28

5. Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood

Assassin's Creed II was so good, we all wanted more. That's exactly the story of Brotherhood, and the rest, as they say, fictionalized history. It follows directly from the plot of the second installment, with Ezio back into the fore, but this time out for Borgia blood.

This particular entry expands on what the previous game offered, especially in terms of its open-world variety. With Ezio's new position as Master Assassin, you get territory takeovers, assassin recruitment, and property investment that all keep you rooted in its environment of 16th century Italy.

With Brotherhood, they really upped the immersion. As GameSpot says "few games make it such a pleasure to simply move from place to place." And they're right about that, with the choice of galloping horseback or parkouring up towers.

For fans of the period, Brotherhood is a definite breath of fresh air and it gets a playscore of 8.59

4. A Plague Tale: Innocence

Sure, Assassin's Creed may not all be sunshine and rainbows but with our fourth entry, things are about to get dark. A game from independent developer Asobo Studio, it earned top ranks in our list of the top games of 2019. Despite some lukewarm reviews from critics disappointed by its sometimes clunky writing and just-decent stealth gameplay, it still garnered rave reviews from gamers who loved its gruesome and painfully real story.

Telling the tale of two siblings, Amicia and Hugo, Innocence ironically paints a harrowing picture of the plague-ridden 14th century that invites all kinds of disillusionment. It's not a happy story by any means, but it's visually stunning and it's packed with puzzles that make it worth every minute.

There's less of the tropes and combat we might expect from a medieval game, but as we face rats, zealots, and human nature itself, it tells its own humble yet grand approximation of how life felt like then.

It has a playscore of 8.64

3. Mount & Blade: Warband

Yes, we're all hyped for the coming of its most-awaited sequel, but before its decade-in-the-making second installment hits the market, we can take a moment to appreciate where it all began.

Well, as the stand-alone expansion to the original Mount & Blade game, it's not exactly where it all started, but it was with this title that the series delivered on the potential of their premise. Unlike the RPGs of its time, TaleWorlds' Warband did away with all the fantasy elements and instead stayed true to medieval realism.

But, as fun as it is to create your own zero to hero story from scratch, what really made the game was its multiplayer modes. With 8 different types, you get to experience the fullest of their combat, commanding warbands, dueling 1v1, and sieging castles. As a game in the 2010s, Warband had a lot to offer. But if you don't mind its obvious age, there's still a lot of fun to be had while waiting for the upcoming sequel.

It has a playscore of 8.64

2. Crusader Kings II

After all the up-close looks, this next game provides us with a new perspective on the age. It's one of Paradox's most popular grand strategies, anchoring on the power struggles inherent in medieval systems. Where most games focus on certain periods, our 2nd spot takes us on a ride through the centuries. It's a dynasty simulator that lets you control a whole lineage, following them through the start of the 11th century, all through the 14th.

As such, it's a historical field trip. We don't just get to meet various historical figures, its grand strategy scheme also lets us experience the various cultural and religious quirks that kept the era’s feudalist system moving.

Offering so much in terms of content and insight, the game is a bit of information overload. But, if you can get past that, you'll discover one of the best medieval strategies out there.

It has a playscore of 8.65

1. Total War: Shogun 2

We end this list far away from the Western medieval notions we're used to. Set during the Ashikaga shogunate, Total War's return to the region is right smack in Japan's medieval period. Instead of kings and knights, we get shoguns and samurai, but all of them still fighting to gain more power and control.

Unlike the previous game which had a global scope, this entry from Creative Assembly shines a spotlight on the Japanese islands and provinces. You get to choose between nine major clans, each with their own advantages that will change the way you play.

This allows you to see firsthand the unique interactions between the Japanese territories. Not entirely guided by religion, but by different methods of diplomacy and militaristic action.

In a series that usually focused on Western and Middle Eastern battlefields, this installment’s unique and effective gameplay still managed to make it Total War's highest-rated title yet.

It has a playscore of 8.84

Sony is set to introduce their next generation of consoles with the PlayStation 5 this December, but the company may have just gotten caught in a bit of a snag.

According to CCN, it’s possible that the pricing of the PlayStation could be in trouble, and the company is having a hard time finding the right price tag for the console without making it feel too expensive to the consumer.

Right now, it’s being assumed that the PS5 could cost as much as $450–$500, considering that some of the materials needed to build it are expecting a huge surge in price—particularly when it comes to memory. SSDs, which Sony is planning to use for the console, are said to expect a 40 percent rise in price this year.

We don’t know the price tag that Sony will end up eventually. For now, the PS4 is said to be huge success because of its affordable price of $399. Compare that to the PS3 which was said to have stumbled on launch because the price tag was too much for consumers.

As for the announcement, we don’t know when Sony is planning it, but it better be early so as players would have the time to save up by the time the console comes out in the holidays. My guess is probably at E3 this coming June, but it could very well happen any other time that Sony decides.

The PS5 is expected to launch this December.

Visit our list of the best Android MMORPG games.

10. Dawn of Isles

Our first game may be unlike the MMORPGs we're used to, and that's kind of what makes it special in the first place. Unlike the usual bunch of dark, gothic, or medieval settings for role-playing games, NetEase Games' Dawn of Isles offers something uniquely bright and charming.

With its captivating island setting, you get to live your tropical adventure dreams by surviving through the work of your own hands. Collect wood for crafting, plant your own produce, go fishing, and so much more. And if it that sounds too boring, Dawn of Isles never fails to balance it out with elemental battles with the varying monsters on the isle.

While there's been a lot of love for the game, it looks like there's some talk about a new update that introduces some pay to win aspects to the game.

A price to pay to live a dual life, perhaps? It has a playscore of 7.84

9. World of Kings

And now we're back to some traditional MMORPGs. But, just because it follows the format of most games, doesn't mean it's not spectacular. A game from Chinese studio, ZLOONG, World of Kings is thought to boast some spectacular graphics. Its 3D visuals are a little reminiscent of World of Warcraft, which is pretty impressive, considering it is on the mobile. World of Kings welcomes us into a world of magic .

Come along with up to 25 friends and raid their 10 epic dungeons for the best loot in the land. The game has recently added a Nightborne race into the mix, rounding it up to five different races, each with their independent stories. The grinding set in place to receive that delicious FREE legendary weapon is tough though. And it's made even tougher in a game overloaded with bots.

But, the journey towards high levels is fun with friends, getting a playscore of 7.97

8. Mobile Royale MMORPG - Build a Strategy for Battle

To be an MMORPG is one thing, but to mix it up with the mind work of strategy is another. That's exactly what this game from IGG.COM does. Telling the story of an on-going medieval war, Mobile Royale gets you into a deep dive of Lords fighting over supremacy over all the kingdoms. The only way to do it is to engage in battle using all the best in strategy, tactics, and a bit of brute force.

Its RPG elements may be a little slim, although it does have a roster of heroes to summon, upgrade, and customize. For players that have already enjoyed the likes of Lords Mobile, this isn't all that different, offering a layer of strategy to a fun MMO. As such, it also has most of the same microtransactions, spread about in resources for building, as well as the usual in-game currency.

It has a playscore of 8.1

7. MU ORIGIN 2 - WEBZEN Officially Authorized

MMORPGs were big way back and some names are looking to make their comeback on the mobile stage--one of them is MU. Once a haven for players wanting MMORPG action in isometric medieval fantasy style, Webzen has given the go signal to bringing all that to the Android.

MU ORIGIN 2 stays true to their original mission, letting players run amok in their world full of magic. It reconstructs the universe using modern visuals and allows players to take on the roles of swordsman, mage, and archer. Customize your characters, equip them with powerful items, and participate in the excitement of PvP and GvG.

As an MMORPG with a free to play model, you'll have to, as usual, watch out for the pay to win mechanics that regularly haunt it. There isn't a lot of complaints about though, compared to those lobbied against the day to day bugs and crashes.

Still, it gets a score of 8.1

6. Star Trek Fleet Command

From medieval fantasy, we come to science fiction. And, who better to spend a science fiction adventure than with one of the best-known names in the genre? A lot of games have explored the Star Trek universe, but Scopely's Star Trek Fleet Command expands on the missions of the Enterprise by adding star system domination to the list.

Fleet Command gathers round the captains and icons of the entire franchise so that you yourself can recruit them into your journey of cosmic proportions. Enter the battle as Federation, Klingon, or Romulans, and take seige of the Alpha and Beta quadrants using the iconic ships and your own managerial skills. There's also plenty of missions to accomplish when destruction isn't always your cup of tea.

A little Ferengi-like in their transactions, Star Trek Fleet Commander may test your patience with a whole load of waiting if you don’t feel like shelling out your cash. It has a playscore of 8.14

5. Summoners War

From the makers of the Inotia series, Com2Us made their dive into MMORPGs in 2014 and it's still thriving to this day. Step up to the challenge of the Summoners War as you assemble the greatest team of monsters to battle for you in the Sky Arena.

It chooses to present their battles in cute chibi, but it doesn't take anything away from the intensity of the fights. In fact, the game's graphics is one of the things that critics praised about the game.

Granted, it's been a while since its debut, so perhaps opinions on that have changed. Looking at the gamers themselves, some of them aren't all that satisfied with its drop rates on runes and monsters.

But, its strategic elements and beautiful character designs are what keeps players coming back for more. It has a playscore of 8.16

4. Era of Legends - Fantasy MMORPG in your mobile

The Era of Legends has begun. It all sounds epic enough, evoking images of grand magical faceoffs and harrowing boss raids. Perhaps that's also true.

What makes 101XP's Era of Legends stand out is the fact that it's an autoplay MMORPG. And, for some, it's one of the best of its kind. Released just March of this year, it aimed to join together mobile gaming with traditional MMORPG gameplay.

From the looks of things, it's delivering on all its promises. Not only does it have a vast world to explore, a number of classes to choose from, and a promising PvP arena, its autoplay makes it discovering all of these things that much easier. If that's not your cup of tea, though, you can always opt-out.

Sure, the voice acting isn't all that great, and then comes the mildly annoying microtransactions. But, for all it offers, its well deserving of its 8.18 playscore

3. Dark Legends

One level darker than the usual vibrant MMORPGs, Dark Legends lets you step inside the dark and gritty world of vampires and aid them in their quest for survival. In this world, vampires are hunted down by a horde of human supremacists and you must defend your tribes against or face the perils of extinction.

It's just as contrived as any other kind of vampire story, but for many people, it just works. A lot of gamers enjoy the game's story, atmosphere, and especially its arcade shooter era graphics.

There's still room for improvement though. As free to play MMO, there are a few complaints leveled at their PvP arena, as well as their loot system that feels a little stingy on actual rewards.

Despite everything, Dark Legends remains one of the best places for a vampire-themed RPG, and it gets a playscore of 8.43

2. Arcane Legends MMO-Action RPG

From the same people who brought Dark Legends, Spacetime Studios continues the legends but this time in the comfort of the light of day. What they lack in title creativity, they make up for with polished execution and impressive content.

In Arcane Legends, you'll discover the massive online world of Arlor--a world steeped in the usual romp medieval magic role-playing. Pick from three different classes and roam the lands as warriors, rogues, and sorcerers.

There's still the microtransactions you'd expect from every MMO, and it comes in the form of paid subscriptions, as well as cosmetics and pets that you can't easily earn from their loot system.

If the grind isn't in your mind, Arcane Legends is a more than decent RPG for the mobile and it has a playscore of 8.53

1. Old School RuneScape

Everybody's probably heard of Runescape. It's one of those games some of us poured hours of our childhood into. While it's undergone a whole number of changes through the years, Jagex presents us with a way to remember and relive all the misadventures we had.

Now on the mobile, Old School Runescape is exactly how you remember. It was one of the first to bring us the simple delights of MMORPGs and it continues to do so, now with the added fun of cross-platform play.

Old School Runescape remains a free-to-play game, and you can have access to almost everything you need. But, with the paid subscription, you can open yourself up to all new skills, quests, and so much more.

Face dragons, sails seas, take down monsters, all in the comforting pixels of the past. It has a playscore of 8.62
