While everyone is busy waiting for Rocksteady’s next game, a lot of people still can’t stop talking about how great the Arkham series is. With The Batman movie set to come out in 2021, PlayStation has revealed that the Arkham Collection is now on a massive discount in the PS Store.

The sale will only last until Feb. 22, and will include three games, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Batman: Arkham City, and Batman: Arkham Knight. While Knight is considered to be the weakest entry of the three, the other two are still solid games with a great story and fantastic gameplay. I mean, Knight was able to give us a great new element with the Batmobile, but at some point, you stop becoming Batman and just become a tank for a good chunk of the game.

Either way, it’s a solid deal, and very much worth your time if you haven’t tried the games out already. Though we don’t know when Rocksteady plans to release their next game, a lot of fans are waiting on WB Montreal for their next Batman title which will apparently feature the Court of Owls.

We may not be getting Crystal Dynamics’ Marvel's Avengers this May, but it looks like things are going smoothly for the new launch this September. Just in, we have a new trailer which marks the launching of pre-orders for one of the year’s most highly-anticipated games.

Here’s the official description:

Marvel’s Avengers is an epic, third-person, action-adventure game that combines an original, cinematic story with single-player and co-operative gameplay. Assemble into a team of up to four players online, master extraordinary abilities, customize a growing roster of Heroes, and defend the Earth from escalating threats.

Like with every other pre-order deal, you’ll be able to get some goods like the Marvel Legacy Outfit Pack, early access, and a lot of other exclusive material. While Beta access looks to be available for every other platform, it’s said that it will come earliest for PlayStation subscribers.

With the success of Spider-Man for the PS4, everyone is wondering what Square Enix has planned for Avengers. After all, franchise is the biggest one in the box office today, so you can expect the same kind of hype is attached when it comes to video games. While I’m not too thrilled that it’s not based on the film’s lore, I’m sure that this opens up the story to have some real impact to players.

Catch Marvel’s Avengers when it becomes available for Xbox One, PS4, and PC on Sept. 4.

You can pre-order the game here.

We may not be getting Crystal Dynamics’ Avengers game this May, but it looks like things are going smoothly for the new launch this September.

New Trailer for Marvel’s Avengers Opens Up Pre-Orders

One of the most hotly anticipated games for the year is The Last of Us Part II, and after the free release of The Last of Us Remastered on PS Plus, Naughty Dog has a new freebie for fans waiting for the sequel.

Just in, a new theme featuring Ellie is now available for the PlayStation 4. What’s cool is, it’s also a dynamic theme, meaning it changes depending on the time of day. During the day, it features Ellie peacefully playing her guitar in the woods; after 5 p.m. the wallpaper changes to Ellie in the dark, holding a machete and hiding from other human survivors.

If you want the dynamic theme and you’re located in America, you’ll need the code 4FMP-BBNM-J5L3 for the PlayStation Store. If you’re located in Europe/AU/NZ/Russia/Middle East/Africa/India, you’ll need to input this code: 9DEK-PKNG-N445. As for players in Japan or Asia, you can check out your country’s official PlayStation Social channel.

You can also download the two themes as high-resolution wallpapers here.

It’s been a long wait for The Last of Us, but everyone is excited to come back to this world with Ellie. We don’t know what happened with Joel yet, but hopefully the game has all the answers we need.

Five years after their dangerous journey across the post-pandemic United States, Ellie and Joel have settled down in Jackson, Wyoming. Living amongst a thriving community of survivors has allowed them peace and stability, despite the constant threat of the infected and other, more desperate survivors. When a violent event disrupts that peace, Ellie embarks on a relentless journey to carry out justice and find closure. As she hunts those responsible, one by one, she is confronted with the devastating physical and emotional repercussions of her actions.

The Last of Us Part II may be months away, but PlayStation has a way to get players feel hyped before the release

PS4 Gets This New Dynamic Theme Based on The Last of Us Part II

Back in 2017, Ubisoft Massive had announced that they would be working on a game based on James Cameron’s Avatar, but ever since the announcement, we haven’t gotten any specific updates. What’s news is, the game is still in the works, but everything is still being kept under wraps.

As per ScreenRant, Ubisoft Massive producer Jesper Karabanov has confirmed that the Avatar game is still in the works. During a promotion for The Division 2: Warlords of New York in San Francisco, Karabanov simply had this to say when asked if Avatar was still in development: "Yes, but I can't speak about it. I can't talk about it."

Seeing that Warlords of New York was a lot to work on for the developers, it would be understandable that they would put a movie-based game on hold. Besides, Cameron is set to release the first of his Avatar sequels next year; so it would be ideal that Ubisoft would release the game around that time—so they can catch on all the hype that will be surrounding the film.

With Avatar 2 set to come out on Dec. 16, 2021, it’s possible that this game from Massive is going to release on the same month, or possibly even earlier. I mean, if it’s been in development since 2017, it has to be big, right?

No official release date has been set for Ubisoft Massive’s Avatar game, but you can catch The Division 2: Warlords of New York coming out this March 3 for the Xbox One, PS4, and PC.

Ubisoft Massive's game based on Avatar is definitely still on

The amazing thing about Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is how the game is able to bring third party characters into the mix, with the likes of Street Fighter’s Ryu, Sonic the Hedgehog, and many more. As it turns out, the devs tried to get one more character added to the mix— Kingdom Hearts’ Sora.

Talking to Kinda Funny Games, Senior Editor at Game Informer Imran Khan revealed that Disney—specifically Disney Japan—had denied including Sora in Smash Bros. He didn’t go into specifics as to why Sora was denied, but I guess it probably has something to do with protecting the brand—and we know how protective Disney can be about that.

If anything, there are two more Square Enix characters that can be played in the game, and that’s Cloud from Final Fantasy VII and Hero from Dragon Quest. Maybe Disney Japan will change their minds down the line if fans ask for it enough. Fan petitions can only go so far nowadays. It’s likely that they could change their minds close to the release of the next Kingdom Hearts entry, but I’m not saying anything is set in stone.

Legendary game worlds and fighters collide in the ultimate showdown—a new entry in the Super Smash Bros. series for the Nintendo Switch system! New fighters, like Inkling from the Splatoon series and Ridley from the Metroid series, make their Super Smash Bros. series debut alongside every Super Smash Bros. fighter in the series…EVER!

Disney Denied Adding Sora to Super Smash Bros

Despite being a newer console, the Nintendo Switch doesn’t boast the same kind of power as the likes of the PS4 and Xbox One. With a lot of people excited for the release of Cyberpunk 2077 this year, it’s possible that the game may not come to the Switch at all.

Talking to OnMSFT, CD Projekt Red’s John Mamais explains that Cyberpunk may be too heavy for the Switch. When asked about the game coming to the platform, he says:

Not as far as I know. Not yet. I don’t know if Cyberpunk 2077 would work on the Nintendo Switch. It might be too heavy for it. But then, we did put Witcher 3 on it and we thought that would be too heavy too but somehow we pulled it off.

While the developers did find a way to bring The Witcher 3 to the Switch, Cyberpunk is a whole new animal for developers. Then again, Mamais did make the point that they were able to pull off what they thought was initially impossible. Who knows, maybe the devs will find a way down the line; I mean, if there’s money to be made, I don’t think there’s too much harm in trying.

For now, Cyberpunk 2077 has been significantly delayed. Originally set to come out this April, the game is now set to release in September. Hopefully, by then the devs have polished the game to perfection.

Cyberpunk 2077 May Not Come to the Nintendo Switch

Insomniac had been praised for their work on the PS4 exclusive Spider-Man, but it looks like the studio could be ready to come back to one of the more recognized brands in modern games—Ratchet & Clank. After earning top ranks on the PS4's list of platformers, it seems a new game is on the way, and it’s possible it could be launching with the PS5.

Talking to Sacred Symbols (via ComicBook), former industry journalist Colin Moriarty had noted,

“We’re going to get a Ratchet & Clank in-between that [Spider-Man 2018 and its sequel) on PlayStation 5… I feel like that’s going to be a launch game, the Ratchet & Clank game that’s long been in development at Insomniac.”

It’s worth noting that Moriarty had actually teased the development of the game sometime last year, with the hint that it could be coming out for the PS4. For now, it looks like plans have changed, but it’s possible that this new Ratchet & Clank could release for both the PS4 and PS5. For now, all we can really do is wait and see.

Ratchet & Clank is probably one of the more beloved brands in modern gaming, and its neat world is brought to life by the game’s emphasis on alternate weapons.

Personally, I’m more of a Jak & Daxter fan, but I’m excited to see just how Insomniac plans to up the ante with this next game. It’s kind of curious how they’re going to go back to a more cartoony brand after their attempt at realism with Spider-Man.

We don’t have any official confirmation for the next Ratchet & Clank title, but the PS5 is set to come out this December.

PS5 Could Launch with New Ratchet & Clank Game

For a while Star Wars Battlefront II only focused on giving us Clone Wars era updates, and we only got some new Resistance goods with the Rise of Skywalker expansion last December. What’s interesting is the game is finally coming back to the “Age of Rebellion” this February.

As per the latest community transmission, the Original Trilogy era will be added to Co-Op along with the renamed game mode, Supremacy (formerly Capital Supremacy). This new game mode will also be bringing a map from 2015’s Battlefront DLC, Scarif (from Rogue One)—probably one of the most requested maps ever since the game launched.

One big difference between these Age of Rebellion maps is that the fight will focus primarily on the ground—meaning that there won’t be any more flying to big ships to destroy from the inside. My guess is the game mode can end once all command posts are taken, but maybe players can just be transported to another part of the map where another goal has to be achieved.

We don’t have any specific release date for this DLC yet, but we’re going to get some updates to come February. While a lot of fans love the Clone Wars, the OT timeline is personally my favorite. Hopefully, we get some new skins soon because I’d love to see some X-Wing pilots on the ground.

Though there was a slight delay, the next expansion for Star Wars Battlefront II comes out Feb. 3. The game is now playable for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.

Scarif is Coming to Star Wars Battlefront II!

News had come out last December that Cloud Chamber was working on a fourth BioShock game, but so far we don’t have any idea when it’s going to be released. What’s great is, the full collection is going to be available for free for PS Plus members this February.

As per the official PlayStation Blog, BioShock: The Collection is going to be one of three free games next month. Another game coming will be The Sims 4, and the third being Firewall Zero Hour for PlayStation VR.

The Collection version of BioShock will include BioShock 1 through Infinite, all having been remastered in 1080p. The package will also include all the DLC with the game including Burial at Sea and Clash in the Clouds.

With the game coming for free on PS Plus, I can’t help but think this is gearing up for some kind of announcement for the fourth BioShock game. The first Last of Us game came out for free last year, and it was to help promote the release of the sequel. Maybe this is a way for Cloud Chamber to help build up the hype for the franchise before a big reveal.

At least that’s my guess.

BioShock: The Collection—along with The Sims 4 and Firewall Zero Hour—will be available for free on PS Plus from Feb. 4 to March 2.

News had come out last December that Cloud Chamber was working on a fourth BioShock game, but so far we don’t have any idea when it’s going to be released.

BioShock: The Collection Coming for PS Plus’ Free Games

EA has somewhat won back the Star Wars fanbase with the release of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Now, everyone is eager to see what else could be coming to the franchise in the future. What’s interesting is, a rumor has come out that the studio is currently working on a revamp of an old fan favorite.

As per Cinelinx, two sources have come out to say that a Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR) game is in the works. One source was said to have reported that a full remake of the game is being developed, while the other says that it’s supposed to be a sequel to the original games.

Though Disney had decided to wipe the slate clean with the Star Wars canon, the newer shows have managed to slowly bleed in material from The Old Republic games. Granted that era of Star Wars has a following in the fanbase, it would make sense for EA to try and bank on that popularity and try to bring in some new fans.

With the Disney-era canon introducing some new elements, I think it would be best to just revamp The Old Republic and give us a story that aligns a lot closer to the new canon. Personally, I always thought the story of the Old Republic has been kind of convoluted, so I would be open to something more compact and fresh.

Keep in mind though that these updates on KOTOR are merely rumors. Until EA or Lucasfilm makes an official announcement, all we can really do is wait.
