Before Death Stranding was a thing, Hideo Kojima was said to be working on a Silent Hill reboot called Silent Hills with Konami. The two had eventually parted ways, and it looks like we were never going to get Kojima’s reboot of the horror title, but the rumor mill is pumping out that the game could be back in development.

As per Rely on Horror, sources have come out to say that there are two Silent Hill games in the works; one from Masahiro Ito, creature designer for the first four installments, and another being Kojima’s originally cancelled project.

Ito is said to be working on a ‘soft reboot’ of the franchise alongside original director Keiichiro Toyama and composer Akira Yamaoka. We don’t have that much information on that game yet, but the team putting it together is said to come from Project Seiren, the same people behind the PS3’s Siren: Blood Curse.

As for Kojima’s cancelled game, the working title was Silent Hills, and it’s rumored to be a title that is being planned for the PS5. It’s said that the game is going to be playable for VR, but it can also be played normally, like Resident Evil VII. Then again, this is all just based on rumors. So far, the only done deal is said to be the first game with Ito.

Interestingly enough, Sony is said to be aiming to patch things up between Kojima and Konami in order to bring Silent Hills back to life. Wiith the mixed reaction of Death Stranding, some think that Kojima actually needs Konami to keep himself in check. Though Kojima has some great ideas, some think that Konami is there to make sure that his vision is still palatable to the general masses.

Then again, until we get an official announcement, all we can really do is speculate. For now, you can catch Kojima’s Death Stranding for the PS4, but the game comes to PC on June 2.

It looks like we were never going to get Kojima’s reboot of the horror title, but the rumor mill is pumping out that the game could be back in development.

Could Hideo Kojima’s Cancelled Silent Hills Game be Back in the Works?

It’s been 2 years since the announcement, and players are ready to come back to the world of DOOM.
The DOOM reboot of 2016 was probably one of the best-reviewed games of that time, and everyone was excited when a sequel was announced in E3 way back in 2018. Now DOOM Eternal is gearing up for a release later this month, and we have an official launch trailer that’s all action and gore.

Here’s the official description:

There is only one dominant life form in this universe, and it carries a steel-barreled sword of vengeance. Become the Slayer and hunt Hell’s armies to the far reaches of the earth and beyond. The only thing they fear… is YOU.

Originally the game was set to come out November of 2019, but Bethesda, unfortunately, had to push it back to March for further polishing. The good news is, the game looks great, and it looks like DOOM Eternal is going to be well worth the wait for the fans. If you ask me, I’d rather get a great game later than to have an unfinished game now.

With all the recent delays coming out because of Coronavirus fears, hopefully, DOOM Eternal won’t have to be delayed on launch. Then again, with the franchise boasting to make players feel like an ‘unstoppable force of nature,’ it’s kind of off-brand to make delays last-minute.

Catch DOOM Eternal when it launches for the PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Stadia, and PC on March 20.

DOOM Eternal Gets an Explosive New Launch Trailer

The PlayStation 4 has been a console filled with great exclusives from God of War to Spider-Man, and it looks like one AAA title is going to be making the jump over to PC.

Thanks to the PlayStation Blog, we now know that Guerrilla Games’ Horizon Zero Dawn is indeed coming with a port to PC. PlayStation’s Worldwide Studios President Herman Hulst confirmed:

Yes, I can confirm that Horizon Zero Dawn is coming to PC this summer…. There will be more information coming from Guerrilla, from the new studio directors [Michiel van der Leeuw, JB van Beek, and Angie Smets] pretty soon.

HZD looks to be the second PS4 exclusive that is coming over to PC. Before this news, Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding was also announced to come to the PC as well, not more than a year after its release on the PS4 last November.

Though Dawn is coming to PC, Hulst makes it clear that not all exclusives will be coming to the platform. If anything, there are still no solid plans for the game’s arrival to PC, and for now, the studio is more focused on working on the hardware. If anything, fingers are crossed that we get an announcement date in June, around the time of E3.

Take on the role of skilled hunter Aloy as you explore a lush world inhabited by mysterious mechanized creatures in an exhilarating new Open World Action/ RPG exclusively for the PlayStation®4 System.

The Electronic Entertainment Expo (or E3) is probably one of the biggest events for gaming of the year, and though it was originally set to happen in June, the event has been canceled due to concerns over the spread of the Coronavirus.

The Entertainment Software Association had said in a statement (via Kotaku):

“After careful consultation with our member companies regarding the health and safety of everyone in our industry—our fans, our employees, our exhibitors, and our longtime E3 partners—we have made the difficult decision to cancel E3 2020, scheduled for June 9-11 in Los Angeles.”

While the main event has been canceled, the organizers are said to be finding a way to “coordinate an online experience to showcase industry announcements and news in June 2020.” Seeing that a majority of fans experience E3 online anyway, I guess it’s great that the reveals would be coming straight to the internet rather than exclusive panels at the event.

This is sure to be a big bummer for fans, and it was even rumored that WB Games was gearing up for an announcement for a Harry Potter game, a new Batman title, and the next game from Arkham developers Rocksteady Studios. Now it looks like WB will have to organize a digital announcement, seeing that E3 has failed to push through.

We don’t know what the ESA has planned for the digital announcements yet, but hopefully, we get an update soon.

Though it was originally set to happen in June, one of the biggest events for gaming has been cancelled due to concerns over the spread of the Coronavirus.

E3 2020 Is Officially Cancelled

After the success with games like Fortnite and Apex Legends, Activision is now set to join the free-for-all Battle Royale hype with Call of Duty: Warzone. The game launches on March 10, and we have a new trailer teasing what’s in store for the upcoming game.

Check it out:

Players will be able to get access to the city of Verdansk which will be a familiar setting for anyone who played Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. There are over 300 points of interest on the map and allows for players multiple types of engagement with other players.

Besides Battle Royale, the game will also be introducing a new mode called Plunder, where players race against other teams to collect the most cash and obtain different kinds of loot. This mode will require players to explore the map, but will also challenge them to strategize against an enemy team; killstreaks will also provide a bonus.

PSN members will also be able to get a bonus combat pack for the game. We don’t have any details on the pack yet, we’ll get more details once the game officially launches.

With the prestige that comes with the Call of Duty franchise, it would be interesting to see how it will fare when it comes to the more established Battle Royale games.

Call of Duty: Warzone will be available for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on March 10.

Reveal Trailer Dropped for Free-to-Play Call of Duty: Warzone

Mortal Kombat 11 was another successful release for NetherRealm, and the DLC’s have been coming out regularly since last year. The latest hero coming in is Todd McFarlane’s Spawn, and we have a new gameplay trailer showing him off.

Check it out:

If you think the voice is familiar, Spawn is being voiced by Keith David, who had also provided the voice for the Spawn animated series which came out in the 90s. If you’re curious where else you’ve heard him, he also voices the wacky president in Rick and Morty.

Gameplay wise, it looks like the game is pretty much embracing all the Spawn-isms that come with the character. He’s all about flames and chains, and even his cape can be used for combat. I especially love how comically large it can get in-game, and the tattered effect is also pretty cool.

We also get a bunch of great skins for Spawn as well. We don’t know how many in total there’ll be, but I really love the classic comic look. And speaking of skins, we’re also teased a couple of ‘Matinee Skins’ for existing characters. Jacqui is also getting her own Spawn-inspired Hellspawn look.

For now, it looks like Spawn is the last DLC character listed, but it’s very likely that NetherRealm has some more characters down the line. We don’t know who’s coming, but I’m hopeful we get that Ash reveal soon.

Spawn becomes available for Early Access on March 17. He fully releases on March 24. Mortal Kombat 11 is now playable for Xbox One, PC, PS4, and Nintendo Switch.

The PS5 is set to launch later this year, and the PlayStation 4 is counting down the list of their last exclusives. Just in, Infamous developers Sucker Punch have dropped the new trailer for an incoming samurai epic, Ghost of Tsushima.

Here’s the story description (via GameSpot):

Ghost of Tsushima follows the story of Jin Sakai, known as The Ghost to the invading Mongol armies led by the ruthless Khotun Khan. Trained by his uncle Shimura, the jito (lord) of Tsushima, Jin is an incredibly skilled samurai who adopts more cunning death-dealing techniques, to the concern of his mentor.

It’s also worth noting that the game comes with three special versions: $70 can either get you the Digital Deluxe Edition or the physical special edition (which comes with a SteelBook and other goods). Or you can dish out $170 for the Collector’s Edition which comes with a ton of extra swag.

Admittedly, some fans are already comparing the game to another samurai slasher, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice from FromSoftware. Admittedly, Sekiro (and anything from From, basically) is notorious for being a difficult game, and I have a feeling that Tsushima will be more forgiving when it comes to casual players.

We don’t know what to fully expect yet from Ghost of Tsushima, but the game absolutely looks amazing, and there is already an impressive cast of characters that I’m sure will bring the game to life.

Catch Ghost of Tsushima when it becomes available for the PS4 on June 26.

We know that a sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is already in the works, but a rumor has been going around that EA is working on a ‘smaller, more unusual project, that is yet to be announced. What’s interesting is, the European PS Network may have accidentally leaked what project it is.

According to PSN releases on Twitter, a game called Star Wars: Project Maverick had been added to the European PSN. We don’t know what the game entails, but it comes with this image.

Since ‘Maverick’ has always been connected to something like Top Gun, some think that this could be a Starfighter game; there has to be a reason why there’s a Star Destroyer on the logo. It’s also speculated that EA Motive will help develop this game, and the same devs had made contributions to Star Wars Battlefront II.

For now, the only Starfighter game we have for Star Wars is part of Battlefront II, but the game mode has admittedly gone empty as most players prefer duking it out on the battlefield. Personally I love starfighters, but the difficulty in finding a full lobby (and the lack of updates) has made the game mode kind of dull. Maybe a game that’s solely focused on starfighters will be of interest to fans, but we don’t know for sure.

We don’t know what Project Maverick is yet, but hopefully, we get an update later in the year; possibly on E3 2020 in June.

Rumor has been going around that EA is working on a ‘smaller, more unusual project,’that is yet to be announced.

Unannounced Star Wars Game Listed on European PS Network

While Nintendo was initially weary of pumping out games for mobile devices, it looks like they’re slowly changing their minds. One of their biggest games to come to Android and iOS was Mario Kart Tour, and the studio has just announced that Multiplayer is finally coming to the game.

Here’s the official announcement on Twitter:

Multiplayer for #MarioKartTour comes out on Mar. 8, 8 PM PT! You can compete against seven other players, whether they're in-game friends, nearby, or around the world. Are you ready to play?

As far as online options go, standard match-ups feature two rule changes in a dat and allow for 100cc races. On the other hand, Gold races, which are exclusive to players with a Gold Pass, will feature four rule changes, and it allows 150cc and 200cc races.

It was initially said that Nintendo was initially hesitant to get into mobile games since it could veer away focus from their main console sales, but seeing as the Nintendo Switch was a huge hit, it seems that the company doesn’t have too much to worry about. If anything, the mobile titles are there to help entice players to check out the more ‘full’ experience of the actual games.

Multiplayer comes to Mario Kart Tour on March 8. The game is now playable for Android and iOS.

Death Stranding was initially sold as a PS4-exclusive, but fans were happy to hear that Kojima Productions was going to bring the world of Sam Porter Bridges to PC. We know that the game was coming in 2020, but now we have an official release date.

Here’s the announce trailer:

We only have to wait until June 2 to get Death Stranding on Steam or the Epic Games Store. Pre-orders will actually get you a lot of goods, add to that the PC version boasts a higher frame rate, ultra-wide screen support, and a photo mode.

There is also some Half-Life inspired bonus content, what with Sam wearing the headcrab hat; the tech gloves at the beginning were actually a reference as well, and Sam having that valve in the back of his head was a reference to, well, Valve
.

Death Stranding was met with mixed reviews when it came out, but I’m curious just how different things will be when it comes to PC. A lot of people have been praising Kojima for his ingenuity when it comes to games, but at some point, some are saying that DS was just a boring walking simulator. I guess we’ll just have to wait for the PC release to see what that branch of gamers thinks.

Death Stranding comes to PC on June 2; the game is currently available for the PS4.

We know that the game was coming in 2020, but now we have an official release date.
