Yomi 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the popular card battle game from American game designer David Sirlin, is now available in Early Access. The game is currently available for PC, MacOS, and Steam Deck.

Sirlin Games also unveiled their plans to produce a physical tabletop game for Yomi 2. In turn, they urged players to try out their latest title.

Feedback is critically important to us, said David Sirlin, President and Founder of Sirlin Games.

David Sirlin is the designer behind Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix and Fantasy Strike.
We want to get Yomi 2 into the hands of its passionate playerbase now to help shape discussions of the future as you can't really patch a physical card game post-launch, he added.

The game's full version is expected to be released in the summer of 2024, Sirlin Games wrote on its Steam page.

Or summer of 2025 if we decide to add even more features and content, they said.

Like its predecessor, Yomi 2 requires players to "read the minds of their opponents." This means that to emerge victorious, they must analyze their enemies' movements and predict their next moves.

Developers, however, decided to introduce a new element into the fighting card game. They announced that for Yomi 2, players could earn gems. These gems, in turn, can be used to augment their characters' abilities.

Augment special moves with one of six gems and shift reality with a momentum-swinging assault to storm an opponent's defenses in various ways, they explained.

Yomi 2's Early Access version will feature nine characters. More playable characters will be added later, as promised by David Sirlin, the founder of Sirlin Games.

Idle games for mobile continue to enjoy popularity among casual and competitive players. And mobile game developer and publisher Neowiz wants to get in on the action.

The Korean gaming and software development company is set to launch Guardian Goddess: Idle RPG. Pre-registration for Neowiz's latest title is also ongoing.

[We are] thrilled to announce that global pre-registration for the highly anticipated game, Guardian Goddess: Idle RPG, is now available, they said.

Based on earlier reports, the upcoming game will be available for iOS and Android devices worldwide within the year.

As the title suggests, Guardian Goddess is an anime-style, idle mobile RPG. According to the same press release, the game's main story arc involved heroes, called Guardians, fighting evil in a fictional world.

Another highlight of Guardian Goddess: Idle RPG would be its unlimited character growth. This means players can level up their Guardians perpetually. They can also customize their guardians. The game features choices for weapons, hair, and body parts, Neowiz said.

The final release date for Guardians Goddess: Idle RPG has yet to be revealed
.

Meanwhile, Neowiz has encouraged interested players to sign up for pre-registration. A pre-registration campaign is now ongoing, with exclusive in-game items in store.

These included a limited costume set as a "token of appreciation" from the developers.

Additionally, pre-registration cumulative achievement rewards will be granted, they added.
Guardians Goddess: Idle RPG will be available in English, Japanese, and Chinese, Neowiz said.

The boxed edition of 41 Hours, the sci-fi-themed shooter game, is getting a new release date. Funbox Media announced they would start distributing copies of 41 Hours this July. However, only PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 owners can avail of them at the moment.

The physical editions of the FPS title will be first shipped to retailers in North America. Players can buy it beginning on July 25. It will then be available to other regions this July 28. Funbox added that these included Europe, Australia, New Zealand, South America, and the Middle East.

Hard copies of 41 Hours were initially to be released last February. The reason for the delay remained unknown.

41 Hours is a 20-hour-long sci-fi game where Ethan, a scientist searching for his missing wife, gains superhuman abilities and battles robots and zombies using telekinesis and time manipulation. Developers described him as a scientist bent on working around the time-space continuum. His job also allowed him to travel across parallel universes.

The game's story propels players on a quest to find Ethan's wife and find answers to her mysterious disappearance. They will have to search for her in different dimensions and on different planets. At the same time, players must defend themselves from alien forces, hostile robots, and even zombies.

Classic sci-fi films inspire the game, which offers a gripping story with surprising twists. Some Steam users positively reviewed 41 Hours for engaging narrative, gameplay, and visuals.

41 Hours first came out for PC devices in 2021. However, its initial release received a lukewarm reception. A year later, developers ported it to the PS5, Series X, PS4, and Xbox One. But, like its PC launch, the game drew mixed reviews.

Paul Renshaw, reviewing for the TheXboxHub, gave it a rating of 1.5 out of 5. In a blog published in October 2022, he said 41 Hours failed to live up to its hype and vision. He noted the game's ambition of fusing sci-fi elements into FPS gameplay but found it underwhelming.

It does feel that somewhere in here is a good game trying to get out, but it is going to need a lot more work and a much higher budget to realize that potential, portions of Renshaw's review read.

New VR-Based Platformer Fighter, Final Fury, Coming Soon

Here's some interesting news for fans of the tactical strategy and dark fantasy genres.

According to Icy Forge's three-member team, their love for tabletop RPGs propelled them to create Kingsblood.

The fun we had playing tabletop RPGs and being a game master in a variety of games fueled Kingsblood's creation, said co-developer Andreas Solti.

Step into a dark fantasy realm in the world of "Rebellion's Path." As the leader of a formidable guild, players rise against a ruthless king and his corrupt noblemen in an epic "fully voiced campaign." The game employs a combination of autochess and tactical RPG elements. Players must unlock, recruit, and train 50 characters as they battle against a "tyrannical monarchy in a grimdark world of political intrigue and injustice."

In addition to its strategic combat, Kingsblood also features dungeon-crawling and craft-building features. Players can fight enemies in auto-simulated combat and loot for treasure lurking in creepy caves. They can also build and expand their guild hall, allowing them to recruit new members, train their existing members, and store their treasures.

Kingsblood is Icy Forge's first major title. While the indie studio has disclosed that it does not boast "high-end" visuals and multi-player options, they have urged players to give it a try.

Our goal was to create a rich world full of gimmicks to explore. If you like the popular auto battler genre, and are a fan of classical RPGs, you should give it a try! said Daniel Nasseh, CEO of Icy Forge.
