E3 2021: Complete list of all games

There were a lot of great (and not-so-great) moments at this year’s online E3 presentations. Here are 25 of our favorite titles from all the games presented.

E3 2021: The 25 Best Games This Year

Back in April, publisher eastasiasoft gave us a look at their upcoming game coming to the Switch, PS4 and Xbox One, Empire of Angels IV. Now the all-women tactical RPG finally has a release date.

To mark the occasion, eastasiasoft has also released the official opening for Empire of Angels IV. Check it out here:

Empire of Angels IV will be available on PS4 and Xbox One on June 23. The Nintendo Switch release is set for the next day, June 24. Take note that this will only be a digital release for Empire of Angels IV. A physical release will be expected to come out via Playasia sometime in July.

This will be the first time that Empire of Angels will arrive on console. It has been updated to feature ‘lush 3D graphics’ and, of course, a colorful cast of gorgeous waifus. The cast is all fully voiced in Mandarin with ‘improved English subtitles.’

Here’s the official description of the game’s story:

Offering a fresh perspective on the history of Asgard, Empire of Angels IV reintroduces its lore, characters and mechanics with no prior knowledge necessary to enjoy this brand new adventure. Deep fantasy-themed political intrigue and the looming terror of war are balanced by light-hearted character interactions, slice-of-life humor, alluring designs and the ability to shatter your all-female opponents’ armor!

20 Upcoming Switch Games Releasing in June 2021

Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter may be at the top of the fighting games today, but SEGA once held a spot with Virtua Fighter. In celebration of their 60th Anniversary, SEGA is releasing the ‘definitive edition’ of Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown.

Ultimate Showdown brings in updated character models, up to 19 playable characters, and private rooms. These private rooms will be great for leagues and other online matches with support for up to 16 players.

Chief producer of SEGA Seihi Aoki is to have new players experience one of SEGA's most important series:

“The Virtua Fighter series holds a storied place in SEGA lore… This new title was developed as part of SEGA’s 60th Anniversary project by an all-star team at AM2 and Ryu ga Gotoku Studios. I am delighted for fans to play and experience the latest entry in the series.”

Though Virtua Fighter 5 released for the PS3 back in 2007, it has been receiving several updates over the past few years. Recently, it even appeared as a mini-game in various Yakuza games. Though some are hoping that SEGA would release a new Virtua Fighter, Ultimate Showdown is probably the closest thing they’ll have to it. At least for now.

Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown will release on June 1 as a PS4 exclusive.

The game had received the Grand Jury Award at IndieCade’s Anywhere and Everywhere festival and was also the most nominated game at the 2020 IGFs.

Mutazione has a wonderfully hand-illustrated world and a dramatic story. But it also offers players a unique escape with the game’s customizable gardens. You can arrange your plants to "relaxing musical soundscapes." Or, collect and send unique seeds to your friends in-game.

A mutant soap opera where small-town gossip meets the supernatural...

Mutazione Announces Arrival for Nintendo Switch and Xbox Platforms

Abrakam Entertainment was set to release their new deckbuilder game Roguebook near the end of June, but now they’ve announced that this upcoming roguelike game will be releasing a week earlier.

Moving from its original June 24 release date, Roguebook will now release on June 17, 2021. To celebrate the release NACON and Abrakam Entertainment has released this new gameplay trailer, giving a better look at the game.

In Roguebook, you control a team of two heroes which will have their own set of cards. Four heroes will be available to choose from, and as the player, you get to pick which characters can create the most powerful combinations.

Roguebook also likes to set itself apart from other deckbuilder games via the Tower Deck. Instead of minimizing cards, the game actually encourages players to collect them as they progress, either buying them from merchants or winning them in fights; this will allow them to unlock special talents for their heroes.

Embrace the challenge of a roguelike deckbuilder with unique mechanics from the developers of Faeria and Richard Garfield, creator of Magic: The Gathering™. Build a team of two heroes, unleash powerful combos and defeat the legends of the Roguebook!

Roguebook is set to release on Steam on June 17. It will come out soon after on the PS4|PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. Roguebook to Release a Week Earlier on the PC

The official PS5 Showcase gave us a tease of Horizon Zero Dawn's sequel. Now Guerilla Games has announced a countdown for Horizon Forbidden West's feature at Sony's State of Play.

An update on the PlayStation Blog said the countdown will launch on Thursday, May 27 at 9AM Pacific Time. The official event starts at 2PM Pacific Time.

Check it out here:

The Horizon Forbidden West event is said to be 20-minutes long. It will allow fans a look at 14-minutes of brand new in-game footage, all captured on the PS5's modern tech. Hopefully the showcase will give us a look at some new robot/animal hybrids. Or, the new adversaries that Aloy will be going up against.

We know very little of the plot of Horizon Forbidden West. With the first game revealing what happened with the world, it would be fascinating to see how everything has grown apart from the world that Aloy lives in.

Horizon Forbidden West continues Aloy’s story as she moves west to a far-future America to brave a majestic, but dangerous frontier where she’ll face awe-inspiring machines and mysterious new threats.

No release date has been set for Horizon Forbidden West. Hopefully we can get an announcement during the broadcast on May 27. In the meantime, you can check out the original Horizon Zero Dawn now available for the PS4 and PC.
