12. The Mummy Dark Universe Stories

While the latest Fraser-less remake of The Mummy was neither a critical nor a box office success, this movie tie-in seems to make a better job of introducing their strange, and monstrous Dark Universe to the global stage. From the same hands that made the award-winning Oxenfree and Mr. Robot, Night School Studio is putting their own elegant twist to this episodic adventure.

Picking right up after the events of the film, this might not be the best game for the spoiler-averse. Step into the shoes of protagonist Nick Morton as he goes on a globe-trotting journey to decode an ancient spellbook and lift an evil curse. Solve puzzles and uncover mysteries in vivid comic-book style visuals, spread over 12 chapters--with even more coming in the following months.

Unfortunately, navigating through the whole narrative might cost you. Operating under a ticket system, you'll only be receiving free tickets after every six hour or so hours. Although, with its clever banter and stylish visuals, it still might be a worthy investment for some. It has a playscore of 6.9.

11. Asphalt Street Storm Racing

In their latest iteration of their famous Asphalt racing series, they're taking their players to the streets with the adrenaline pumping action of drag racing. Head to the streets and compete against the fastest, and baddest cars in the history of this bloody sport. This time, they set the bar way higher with their upgraded dynamic weather systems, graphics, and content that will make any racing enthusiast's hearts swell with joy.

Race in streets of the world's iconic landmarks, boosting past the lovely and futuristic sights of New York, Paris, and Hong Kong. Ready your pink slips to bet for the best cars, or take part in the fun and compete for the money and the juicy bragging points, against up to three victory-hungry opponents. With their revamped Dynamic Weather system, competition is tougher than ever, as you drive through rain, sleet, and snow. Get a hold of your grip, or risk losing your crown.

While they've definitely pumped up the volume on visuals, it seems Gameloft is losing touch with their player base, with its ridiculous progression system that forces players to consider their rather expensive in-app purchases. That, on top of the rather bland gameplay, gives it a playscore of 7.24.

10. Farming Simulator 18

The latest of three mobile iterations of their popular country life simulation, complete with the loud whirring of heavy agricultural tools, and the sheer tranquility of planting crops and taking care of animals. It's a genre that's existed for years, and it's made even better with the simple touch of realism.

Dive into the green landscapes, and begin your journey using the over 50 farming vehicles and machines from the world's most trusted brands. From Challengers, to Valtras--you name it. Along with their collection of farming tools, is of course, an array of crops to plant and harvest for the new year. Choose from beets, potatoes, wheat, canola--and, for the first time in the series, sunflowers--for you to turn your boring old farm into a beacon of bright yellow hues.

Settle in to your preferred routine, gather your resources, and become the most efficient manufacturer in town--with wool, milk, timber, and so much more. While its not the most realistic game on the market, its upgraded 3D graphics brings you an even detailed visual experience, taking you one step closer to your farmlife dreams. It has a playscore of 7.94.

9. PES 2017 -PRO EVOLUTION SOCCER-

Going head to head against EA Sports' FIFA Mobile is Konami's own Pro Evolution Soccer 2017. While FIFA's been winning the game on the console, it looks like PES has made a more convincing move to the mobile--scoring goals ahead of the competition, with its fluid physics, and smooth transitions.

Using the same engine as their console counterparts, it definitely offers its players a better gaming experience. Head to the premier league, and revel in realistic ball controls and satisfying passes using its responsive and precise touch interface. Compared to FIFA's rather clunky mechanics and controls, PES is a dream for mobile football fans.

In terms of licenses, on the other hand, FIFA still has the upper hand. Still lacking in their own acquired teams and badges, you might be forced to play some nobody team with a whole roster of nobody players. But, with its overall polish and flair, it still takes the spot for the best mobile football experience. Begin your journey to the top, with a playscore of 8.05.

8. SUP Multiplayer Racing

Drift past enemies and crush their dreams of victory in this fast-paced multiplayer racing game. One of the most striking aspects of this game is its vibrant colors, and charming personalities that really seems to capture the energy of its high-speed tracks and gameplay.

In this competitive arena, square off with up to three opponents from all around the world and decide who makes it to the finishing line. Crash into cars, push them off the edge, drift past your rivals, and take the cup! It even has a few emojis for you to flash as you drive by.

As you go along, rubbing salt on wounds, you’ll soon realize that this race is not for the kind of heart. A street race at its core, learn to race dirty to get to the goal. Cement your place on the top spot with an array of awesome upgrades to suit your racing needs.

Fun as it is, it has been reported to have a few bugs and glitches that might distract from the fun it offers. But, other than that, it’s still one hell of ride. It has a playscore of 8.06.

7. Lode Runner 1

If you're one of the special few people on this Earth that remembers Lode Runner from their childhood, then this game from Nexon Studios will be the best thing to happen to you this month. All the cool things from the classic, modernized into one, well-crafted game. We don't usually say this, but if there's one thing that really bothers us, it's the fact that the game is COMPLETELY free.

Created by the folks at Nexon, Lode Runner 1 has over 35 different levels, as well as an earned level creator, and absolutely zero in-app purchases to distract from the game. That is, aside from a link to the rights holder's classic game on iOS. It's basically a giveaway, a gift and fitting tribute to fans of the old puzzler.

A new coat of paint, a cool multiplayer mode, and a splendid time-waster, NEXON's gift to the world will take you right back to the arcade era. Challenge your brain, maneuver through their tricky stages, and compete against players from around the world. While all is well and good, it currently doesn't offer an offline mode. It has a playscore of 8.23.

6. Jaipur: A Card Game of Duels

Watch out Hearthstone! A new card game is taking over the stage. One of the most popular tabletop games, Jaipur isn't your run of the mill, slow-paced boardgame. Earning a recommendation from the German Game of the Year, you can be assured a fast and fun diversion that's perfect for a quick versus round. Trading card games may have been around for a while, but this will have you dealing in literal trading as you exchange goods with a market, and ending up with the most points.

Play as one of Jaipur’s best traders, demonstrating your prowess to the Maharajah by competing against an equal rival. Earn the two Seals of Excellence and you just might find yourself in the King’s Court. While honest exchanges are necessary, you can steal the victory by dabbling in the realm of strategic movements. Measure your risks, and count your luck as you take camels for transportation, and sell goods to the people.

It’s a truly faithful adaptation of the award-winning original, complete with extensive campaign modes, achievements, helpful tutorials, and a local pass-and-play mode. It has a playscore of 8.27.

5. Chroma Squad

One of the quirkiest games this month. This 8bit masterpiece by Saulo Camarotti feels like an unexpected fusion between Power Rangers and Game Dev Tycoon. While the Brazilian studio had its share of copyright disputes with Saban when it first arrived on Kickstarter, that's all hopefully behind them. Since its debut, it's remarkably arranged pixels has brought happiness to tactical RPG fans across the globe.

Play as a humble team of stunt actors who left their jobs to create their very own Tokusatsu company. Your job is to establish your own TV studio. Behind the scenes, you're tasked with hiring actors into the show, and assigning them with special powers and traits. Once the stage is set, though, you'll have to battle the monsters for yourself. For your actors, another stage is just another day in the studio, with their performance in the battles set as measures for your show's ratings.

Fight baddies with all you've got, create the best show, and gain fans across the nation. Despite its lush animations and enjoyable gameplay, Chroma Squad is, unfortunately, a very short game. Hopefully, that'll change soon. It has a playscore of 8.32.

4. Arkanoid vs Space Invaders

While we're on the subject of weird game combinations, Square Enix comes in a clutch with this throwback to two classic Japanese arcade icons, jumbled into one confusing but a sensational new game. And the odd thing is: it totally works. Throw away the shooting part of Space invaders, throw in a ball and a moveable paddle, and you got yourself a game worthy of Japan's biggest studios!

As with the classic arcade game, shoot down waves after waves of aliens with your horizontal ship and hope they don't get you first. With all the newest hardware, the two games get a considerable revamp, packing some shinier stages, better graphics, and a whole new collection of upgrades and varieties. Play against all the different space invaders with their own special traits, and survive the frantic waves with upgrades to your trusty paddle-ship.

With no in-app purchases, and a dazzling amount of content, reviewers didn't really have much to say in the way of criticism of the game. Sure, Square Enix might just be out for our nostalgia money, but with a game of this calibre, it's worth the fall. It has a playscore of 8.4.

3. Old Man's Journey

Weave through a moving tale of travel and memory, as you step in the shoes of an old man who sets out on a grand adventure. If you like artful video games, then this just might be the game for you. But this game doesn't just succeed in terms of art. It delivers on all fronts, with an emotionally affecting story and an effective way to tell it. Navigate through the gorgeous maps, and into the beautiful memories of one, clever old man.

Much like what the title suggests, you guide an old man as he traverses past an arrangement of mountains and hills to fulfill a quest that unveils itself throughout the game. Like an interactive Proustian tale, you'll encounter events and uncover memories that will enlighten players about its varying mysteries.

Like most games with a thoughtful and relaxing atmosphere, it has a tendency to become a little too slow for most. But, in those moments, it's eye-catching visuals gladly take the fall, distracting you long enough to forget the occasionally uncomfortable pace.

Delightful and ultimately rewarding, Broken Rules' Old Man’s Journey receives a playscore of 8.48.

2. Guns of Boom

What's in a name? Apparently not much when it comes to one of the shining gems of today's FPS generation. Despite it's a rather uninspired and nonsensical name, this Lithuania-based game manages to deliver a top-notch multiplayer arena for fans of frantic, team shooters. It's been widely compared to Gameloft's very own Blitz Brigade, with its Team Fortress 2-like visuals and gameplay. But other than these very obvious similarities, GoB is a definitive mobile experience, packed with intuitive shooting mechanics, and a healthy player base--boasting over five million downloads since its May release.

Jump into the fray and choose from its expansive roster of quirky and highly customizable characters and classes. Decimate your opponents in an all-new game mode called "Capture the points", which plays like a King of the Hill game. To make the game easier for mobile users, it has an auto-fire feature that lets you shoot at enemies in your crosshairs. But, of course, that doesn't mean it's a walk in the park. Use your strategic wits to outsmart the competition. Get under cover, or flank them from behind.

It's a great game for casuals and veterans alike. And the best part is, it's all free! It has a playscore of 8.54.

1. Flipping Legend

This game from Noodlecake Studios combines Minecraft-like voxels with the ease of vertical gameplay. And, while it might not look like much compared to the other titles on this list, its easy-to-pick-up and hard-to-master gameplay make it an incredibly addicting purchase that you'll keep coming back to. Of course, when it comes to Noodlecake Studios, the makers of Alto's Adventure, Bitcoin Billionaire, and a whole lot more of some of mobile's classic hits could you really expect any less?

Flipping legend is, much like a whole slew of games on the market right now, an endless runner game with some action elements. But unlike the others, Flipping Legend boasts a well-implemented RPG upgrade system, as well as an unconventional movement style that definitely adds to the fun. Zigzag and jump back through its treacherous trails like a deadly combination of chess and cha-cha. Sure, it's weird, but it makes so much sense once you get the feel of it.

Navigate through the map as Ninja, Mage, or Ranger and more, and kill off the enemies in your way with a barrage of powerful kicks, spells, and attacks. Gain experience, collect coins, and become the legendary pixel-hero you were destined to become. It has a playscore of 8.73.

14. The Mummy Dark Universe Stories

The first among many remade classic monsters, The Mummy was not the box office hit we were expecting it to be. Thankfully, with this movie tie-in, the true glory of the their Dark Universe will leave a better impression on fans worldwide. From the makers of the critically acclaimed Oxenfree and Mr. Robot, Night School Studio is giving their own spin on the adventure.

Similar to their previous atmospheric hits, the game is an episodic venture. For those planning to watch the movie, it might be wise to avoid this for a while. It starts off after the events of the film, following protagonist Nick Morton as he goes on his usual globe-trotting escapades. Decode ancient spellbooks, lift evil curses, and uncover mysteries throughout its artistic comic-book visuals. There's currently 12 chapters to indulge, with developers promising to release more in the coming months.

Unfortunately, the game is haunted by looming in-app purchases. Operating under a ticket system, it's either you wait six hours after every chapter, or pay up. With clever dialog and stylish visuals, it receives a playscore of 6.87

13. Prison Architect: Mobile

No, this isn't another prison escape game. In fact, it's quite the opposite. Putting you on the other side of the coin, Prison Architect is a simulation game that lets you create your very own maximum security prison. Yeah, it's a pretty far-fetched idea, it's a miracle someone thought of it. Making its debut on the PC last 2015, it has been met with wide acclaim as it fuses the dark themes of prison-life with the comical complexities of its management.

Published by Paradox Interactive, Introversion Software delves into this strange simulation subject that lets you oversee the creation of the prison from the building of the very first walls. Aside from construction, you'll also be tasked with managing staff pay, raising morale, and creating the best prison environment.

Explore a well-crafted campaign mode to learn the ropes of effective prison building, and experiencing life behind bars through its series of cutscenes. Fun as it is, it has been panned by critics for a few compatibility issues. It has a playscore of 6.9.

12. PES 2017 -PRO EVOLUTION SOCCER-

Konami's annual football game is squaring off with EA Sport's FIFA in the mobile hemisphere. Although FIFA has been winning the console game for years, it looks like PES finally has the upper hand with its well-executed port to the mobile that's miles ahead of EA's FIFA Mobile.

Making use of the same engine as their console games, it offers its players a smoother gaming experience. The road to the premier league is made even better with realistic ball controls, satisfying passes, and a responsive virtual interface. Side by side with FIFA's clunkier controls and money-making schemes, it still proves itself worthy of the attention.

However, if there's one thing that brings PES down, it's the lack of respectable licenses compared to FIFA's long list of acquired teams and badges. While you might be forced to to play using fictional teams and players, the game's overall polish and flair still makes it one of the best mobile football experience with a playscore of 7.3.

11. Asphalt Street Storm Racing

Get a taste of of the adrenaline-pumping action, and take on the mess of badass drag racing along with a collection of fastest and baddest beauties from all corners of the world. With their move to drag racing, they're taking it to a whole new level. The enhanced graphics, added content, and upgraded dynamic weather systems will surely make any racing fan drool.

Travel to the streets of the world's most beautiful cities, and zip past the lovely sceneries of Paris, New York, and Hong Kong. Watch the excitement unfold with pink slips to bet on your favorite cars, or get right into the action as you compete against three other rivals for the money and the juicy bragging points. But alas the road to victory isn't as clear this time, with their Dynamic Weather system bringing you rain, sleet, and storm to challenge your skills.

While it's a perfectly serviceable game with great presentation, reviewers have criticized its lack of originality and ridiculous progression system that's haunted many of Gameloft's games. For that, it receives a playscore of 7.31.

10. Dead Age

Putting a fresh new twist on mobile zombie survival, Dead Age brings you right in the center of the action.
Every playthrough is a harrowing struggle for survival. The food is scarce, injuries need to be tended, and the smell of death is in the air. Increase your chances of survival by forming alliances, learning some necessary skills, scavenging for supplies.

Aside from gameplay, it has also been praised for its impeccable, non-linear storytelling. Throughout your journey, you’ll be forced to make some hard decisions that will affect the events in the game. Start rivalries, spark some romance, become the hero, and unlock one of six different endings. It has a playscore of 7.76.

9. Farming Simulator 18

The latest in their line of mobile farming simulators since Farming Simulator 16's release in 2015.
8. Skullgirls

Lab Zero's indie fighting game from has found success on the PC and consoles since its initial release in 2012. Published by LINE, the 2D fighting game finally makes it to the mobile platforms as a high-calibre free-to-play RPG no less than five years after its initial release. While the mobile hemisphere is already home to few fighting game ports, Skullgirls is reportedly one of the few games that made proper use of the smartphone's touch interface.

Its fighting mechanics has been based on Marvel vs Capcom 2, which might explain its many similarities--such as tag-team battles, character assists, and combos. Step into the high energy arenas of three different game modes, and choose from eight of their roster of characters with their own elemental quirks.

Using developer Alex Ahad’s hand-drawn designs, it boasts a distinct and recognizable art-style that leans towards a steampunk fantasy. Although it was criticized by some for its limited fighters, its complex fighting mechanics and wonderful art style gives it a playscore of 8.1.

7. FRAMED 2

Created by the powerful hands of videogame god, Hideo Kojima, FRAMED has won dozens of awards since its debut in 2014--not the very least, bagging that year's Game of the Year. Since then, fans have been screaming for another game. Three years after, it finally gets a well-deserved sequel, backed by the equally inventive Loveshack.

Return to the silhouette-filled world of the classy noir puzzler, and enjoy the thrill of rearranging panels into their respective narrative place. While it keeps all the best parts of the previous game, this new sequel adds a ton of novelty to the beloved original.

Sail off to the shores of China, meet your new monochromatic companion, and master the tricks of the new generation--with reusable, and rotatable panels. FRAMED 2 may have a lot of differences, but its still has the very same fun and satisfying puzzle-solving as its original. It has a playscore of 8.17.

6. Lode Runner 1

If you're one of the many fans of the classic puzzle platformer, then Nexon Studios latest project will definitely bring a smile to your faces. Culminating everything you loved from the arcade platformer, Nexon puts a modernized twist to the beloved game.

Even with its cute, cartoon look, Lode Runner 1 plays much like the original, even going so far as to include their classic stages. But despite all its offerings, the game is completely free. Which is one of the weird things about it. No hidden fees, no ads, and no in-app purchases--save for a link to Tozai’s Lode Runner Classic on the iOS.

This gift to the world offers over 35 different levels, a built in level creator, and a cool multiplayer mode. Jump right back into the arcade era, and challenge players from all around the globe, and maneuver through its complicated stages.

Being given away for free, there's really not much to criticize the game on. However, if there's one bad thing to say about it, it's that there's currently no offline mode available, which is a bit of a bummer. Then again it has a playscore of 8.21.

5. Monument Valley 2

With its bright maps, vibrant colors, and mesmerizing gameplay, Monument Valley has cemented itself onto the mobile Hall of Fame, winning the hearts of gamers and critics all around the world. With fans fawning over their creation, thousands have cried for another game since its debut last 2014. But, when all hope was gone, ustwo storms the world with an explosive surprise release just last May.

Along with the return of their signature visuals is the introduction of a whole new tale to uncover. In this touching sequel, help Ro as she guides her daughter through the dizzying twists and slopes of their mysterious valley. The game is as beautiful as ever, with new MC Escher like maps and architecture, and an inviting collection of atmospheric music.

While the first game was a masterpiece on its own, it did lack a certain drive to make players keep forging on. However, with the new tale of family and mother hood, it's a more complete puzzle experience. It has a playscore of 8.27.

4. Old Man's Journey

Another example of videogame as art, take a trip into the mind memory of a wizened old man as he steps out of his humble home and into a grand adventure. For those who enjoy a visually pleasing and enjoyable adventure game, this just might be the perfect fit. Weave through its gorgeous, hand-drawn styles, and into the man's poignant memories.

As he sets out for his journey, guide the old man past an increasingly complicated arrangement of mountains and hills, and fulfill a mysterious quest. It plays almost like the stories of Marcel Proust, as you encounter events, interact with your environments, and trigger remembrance with each step.

Along with the strong artstyle, its charming animations also make a pretty good job of drawing you in. But, one common criticism about this Broken Rules' game is its occasional dip in pace, with sequences that drag on for just a minute too long. But in these moments, its gorgeous visuals gladly take the fall. Delightful, and endlessly engaging. It receives a playscore of 8.3.

Your job is to establish your own TV show.

Despite its lush animations, and enjoyable gameplay, Chroma Squad is unfortunately a very short game. Hopefully, that'll change soon because it has a playscore of 8.32.

2. Art of Conquest (AoC)

If you're looking for new RTS game to obsess over, then you have Lilith Games to thank for this wonderful new game that combines the best of role-playing, real-time strategy, and MMOs. Putting you in charge of a whole kingdom of magic and monsters, as well as its army of dwarven warriors.

Pick from one of three starting heroes, and start exploring its vast and stunning lands. Go around the world, collecting loot, amassing your armies, fighting against Dragons, and expanding your kingdom through its lengthy siege battles. Become the strongest kingdom by gathering enough resources from the world, or from your unsuspecting neighbors.

There's million things to do in the world of AoC. And while it's more MMO than anything else, Lilith Games is making sure you enjoy every minute of it. It has a playscore of 8.37.

1. Flipping Legend

For a game that’s just been released last June, this game has been making waves and zigzags throughout our most recent mobile lists, and our beloved mobile gamers. While it’s not much for the eyes to see, it has proved its worth among the this month’s best games with its easy-to-pick up and hard-to-master formula. From one of mobile's most well-known studios, Noodlecake is adding another feather to their cap with this addicting arcade game.

While it seems like we're seeing the decline of the endless runner genre, what with the amount of generic clones on the stores right now. Flipping Legends distinguishes itself from the others, with a well-implemented RPG system and an unconventional movement system. All those elements combined, creates an outstandingly unique game that's both simple and strategically challenging.

Just like Crossy Road, it has comical voxel visuals that fit with the theme of the game. Dive into the deep, dark world full of bandits and zombies, and squash them all as mage, ninja, ranger, and whole array unlockable characters. Collect coins, level up, and rid the world of baddies one spell at a time. It has a playscore of 9.31.

10. Mortal Kombat: Komplete Edition

If there’s one thing Mortal Kombat achieved other than its fluid fighting mechanics, it’s the gore. The satisfying, eye-popping gore. Since time immemorial, the series is never afraid to show off the brutality of death. From decapitation, freezing, stabbing, head-cracking, impaling and more, Mortal Kombat succeeded at every possible death.

Komplete Edition contains all the Downloadable Content from NetherRealms’ first Mortal Kombat game. This includes all the new characters like Kenshi, Rain, Skarlet and the notorious Freddy Krueger. Experience the deadliest tournament with all the iconic Kombatants in MK history. Picking up after the events of Armageddon, stop an evil emperor hell-bent from taking over the world. Pretty generic, but that’s how most MK deals with their story.

Considered as a Reboot of the entire franchise, feel the new yet familiar combat that the series was once known for. With the Unreal Engine, experience high quality overkills in the most satisfying ways especially with the game’s new X-Ray supers.

Choose and play from its dynamic gameplay modes such as Tag Team and Challenge Tower. Lauded for its smooth optimization to the PC, this is Netherrealms’ proof that they can make a decent Mortal Kombat game.

It has a playscore of 8.13

9. Injustice: Gods Among Us - Ultimate Edition

Two NetherRealm games in a row show how much they love the fighting genre. The glorious superhero powerplay from DC Comics makes a grand debut to the videogame industry. Superman loses his faith to humanity and our favorite superheroes are at the brink of civil war. Watch Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and more DC characters as they test their moral compass to ensure the safety of humanity.

Ultimate Edition is pretty much every other “enhanced” title. It’s smoother, better and it contains all the Downloadable Content from the original such as 6 new characters, 30 new skins, and 60 new STAR Labs Missions.

It’s the definitive Injustice experience. The original made a good impression to the fans and critics due to its impressive story, fluid fighting mechanics and refined visuals. There’s no other way to experience the first Injustice game without this one.

It receives a playscore of 8.15

8. Lethal League

Games like these are always a big surprise when they successfully gain the love of gamers and critics. Team Reptile’s fighting game mixes two unlikely genres: Sports and Fighting. It’s a competitive fighting game where players fling an anti-gravity ball to defeat their opponent. It’s not your everyday ball, it’s a continuously speeding projectile that feels like it’s about to go boom.

Featuring a unique bunch of characters, these street-level heroes unleash their batting skills to remove their opponent from the map. It’s similar to Super Smash Bros but it involves a constant moving projectile instead of big punches and kicks.

The game’s best feature lies in its versus mode. With up to 4 players and a banging soundtrack, go in an all-out batting war in local or online play. Provided with GGPO technology, feel the high-speed nature of the Lethal League in a seamless online experience.

It’s in a league of its own, this game has a playscore of 8.20

7. Nidhogg

Step into the dueling pits and witness an award-winning fighting game with an unlikely combination of mechanics: Fencing and Tug of War. Deal out ripostes, thrusts, and any exceptional fencing movements to take down your opponent. Be on your most vigilant state because any point of opportunity is the key to victory. It’s fast, graceful and it’s full of yelling and stabbing.

Packed with a jumpy electronica soundtrack, revel in your sophisticated fencing abilities and take down waves and waves of enemies in its single-player mode. It’s ridiculous and oftentimes serious when played with a friend. Multiplayer is much more enjoyable. Do you want to engage with fisticuffs or do quick successive lunges to your opponent? There are just so many things you can do in a limited environment.

Messhof's Nidhogg gained positive to both gamers and critics. Calling it an exhilarating experience, if not downright crazy. It’s a fun fighting game and its sequel is just around the corner.

It has a playscore of 8.21

6. Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 Full Burst

Mashashi Kishamoto’s masterpiece has taken the world by storm with the series’ long-awaited finale. Full Burst packs together the complete Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 experience. Which means all the DLC’s are present, new content, and refined visuals. CyberConnect2 grants us the opportunity to witness the 4th Great Ninja War.

This is CyberConnect2’s beginning on their improved dynamic ninja fighting action with the series’ iconic roster of characters, and that includes the great Jinchuriki’s. Storywise it adds new chapters including Itachi’s life after he breaks away from Madara’s seal and a Director’s Cut that features a different viewpoint during the Great War.

Additionally, the game offers 100 new missions and over 30 additional skins to choose from. If you’re a Naruto fan or anyone that loves the good ol’ ninja action, then this game is the closest thing for becoming the best Naruto game to date. It was praised for its excellent fan service, responsive controls, and a story mode that takes you deeper into the lore. However, the lack of exploration and the dumbed-down difficulty was a tad bit annoying.

It receives a playscore of 8.26

5. Melty Blood Actress Again Current Code

Another case of Japanese name oddities, the Melty Blood series is known for pioneering the visual novel and fighting game hybrid--well, among others. It's also known to be developed by Type-Moon, which rose to fame for their now established Fate/ series, and of course, their 2000's eroge visual novel Tsukihime. But, despite featuring the characters of the same Tsukihime series, French Bread's Melty Blood is fluid, smooth, and decidedly wholesome.

The game is set one year after the events of Shiki Tohno's investigation into a mysterious series of murders. This particular title, while being the first made for the Ringside Arcade Board, marks the end of the long-running series. It features a whole collection of playable characters, including the previous PS2 exclusives. The freedom of choice is evident in the game, as you pick from a total of 31 different fighters, each with three separate playstyles to discover. Weave through its intriguing narrative or compete with players around the globe in Rank and Player matches.

Waiting 15 years for a western release, this has been the fulfillment of many fan's dreams. And while it's not exactly friendly to curious newcomers, their top-notch animations and fast-paced combat can definitely make up for the grind.

It has a playscore of 8.3.

4. Street Fighter IV

Following its successful premiere on the PS3 and Xbox consoles, Street Fighter jump kicked its way to the PC in an unexpected but much-awaited released in 2009. It gave the once-envious and console-less population their first taste of the franchise's new generation. A culmination of the lessons learned by the franchise in the 20 years of experience, Street Fighter IV has nailed the fundamentals of their formula, finishing it off with a polished glint.

Compared to V's more narrow approach to competitive fighting, IV seems more diverse and welcoming. With their refined lineup, every character has its own edge in the fight. One thing that's different in this iteration is the Focus Attack that lets you charge and absorbs attacks to bring your opponents down in battle. It's a special move that will give you an advantage in both offensive and defensive play.

While everything's been vastly improved in their recent Ultra version, they've sadly been left wanting for more reviews. But, despite their vanilla roster and balance, IV still has much of the charm of the series. Learn your moves, time your combos, and demolish whoever stands in your way. Or you could just participate in some heavy button mashing to catch victory.

It has a playscore of 8.35.

3. Rivals Of Aether

Set in a world where Fire, Earth, Water, and Air collide. Choose your champion and manipulate the elements together in this fast and frenetic Indie fighting game. Some players are even calling it the Smash game they deserve since it contains similar gameplay elements to Nintendo’s iconic brawler.

Dive into the game’s Story Mode where you uncover the stories from each of the Elemental Champions. Go into a fiery adventure with Zetterburn, or feel the earth crumbling with Kragg’s story. Players can also test their mettle with Abyss Mode where players survive a gauntlet of shadowy fighters to climb the leaderboards.

But the game’s real fun lies in its Online Mode. If you really want to put your fighting skills to the test, play with a friend or go into its ranked matches.

It’s a Smash clone, yes. But it’s not a bad one. It has a playscore of 8.40

2. Skullgirls

Conceptualized during the college days and haunted by development issues, Lab Zero's work of love has definitely come a long way since its release in 2012. For fighting fans on the PC, Skullgirl's place in this list is no surprise. This 2D fighter marries a creative, and engaging style with controls that are both friendly, and competitively balanced. It's the kind of game that's easy on the eyes, easier to pick-up, and even harder to master--making it a favorite for veterans looking for a tight duel, and newcomers looking for some multiplayer fun.

Enter their art deco arenas, and enjoy the anime-steampunk feel of their roster of eight characters. Modeled after Marvel vs Capcom 2's New Age of Heroes, they share plenty of similarities--with tag-team battles, character assists, and combos. But what really sets them apart the amount of creativity poured onto each of their fighters. Explore each of their moves, and find out which playstyle fits you best.

While their fanservice art has been divisive at best, it's still one of the finest looking fighters out there. With punishing AIs, extremely accurate hitboxes, and competitive online community, Skullgirls will stay in the genre's hall of fame for a long time.

It has a playscore of 8.51.

15. Street Fighter X Tekken

The best fighting game on the PC is:

1. Tekken 7

Lo’ and behold, QLoc’s critically acclaimed fighting game dominates our list. Step into the seventh King of the Iron First Tournament and witness the end of the Mishima Feud. These pesky family problems aren’t gonna go running around forever and destroying the world.

As per usual, Tekken 7 was released as an Arcade game first during 2015, then it received a huge port to the consoles and PC. Upon its release, it gained the respect it deserves. Powered by the Unreal Engine 4, experience Tekken like never before. The smooth texture and dazzling special effects are a few of its best features.

Gameplay is better than ever. With two new features called Rage Art and Power Crush, this can really change the tide of each round. Just by watching a single match can really entertain you. Especially with their sweet slow-motion effect for that clutch jabs. It was praised for its insanely accurate hitboxes and reasonable balance changes.

With over 39 playable characters, both old and new, watch how a fighting game stood the test of time. It’s definitely the best Tekken game to date and obviously the best on our list.

It receives a playscore of 8.56

9. Fate/Extella: The Umbral Star

This the third installment of one of Marvelous' many well-known series. Making its premiere on Sony’s PlayStation Vita, the servant action takes another step up with its recent move to the newest Nintendo console.

This warriors-type action game is set after the events of the legendary Holy Grail War. Take up the mantle of master once again in their newest escapade. This time, their victory in the war has granted them power over a wish-granting computer, and the servants of their former enemy. With another man threatening to control them, prove you're the better master and fight with them against a multitude of foes.

The game has over sixteen playable characters to choose from, all of them divided over eight different classes. Explore each of their unique fighting styles, and use your swords, magic, and violence against the malevolent foes that come before you. Or use their powerful transformations to instill fear among your enemies.

Packed with the same fast-paced combat, beautiful visuals, and lovable cast of characters, it's the musou game that we all came to expect. While it falls prey to the genre's lack of variety, it's still as addictive as ever.

It has a playscore of 8.16.

8. ARMS

Nintendo has always had an affinity for oddball ideas, and then making them work in an epic way. It's this kind of creativity that made them so popular in the first place. A plumber collecting coins and battling evil turtles? Check. A puzzle-solving warrior who dives into dungeons and destroys pots? Check. A fighting game involving lovable characters and extendable arms? You've got it! Their most recent IP does a two-fold justice to the company. Not only showcasing their inherent creativity, but also the unfettered power of their newest console.

With your JoyCons or a few extra pairs, gather up to four of your friends for some knockout, splitscreen fun. This game will have you throwing literal punches across the battlefield, in two different ways. Take your built in JoyCon pair and use their motion controls to punch enemies with your own two hands, or share them with a buddy of yours to swing jabs in the traditional controller method. That way, with just an extra pair you can maximize your Switch’s multiplayer capabilities.

There’s a handful of cool characters you can try on, with a bunch of cooler arms to tinker with for every battle. Mix and match their extendable appendages, and find the best combination to bring your opponents down.

It’s a weird, yet creative take on the fighting genre that only Nintendo could ever pull off. Go play yourself another match! It has a playscore of 8.19

7. Fast RMX

An unexpected gift came for fans of F-Zero, care of the folks at Shin'en Multimedia. For anyone who's been helplessly waiting for years, this futuristic podracing game has everything you want in a F-Zero game, and more. Offering to fill that void in your hearts, this is an expanded version of the Wii U's Fast Racing Neo. This RMX edition includes all the tracks and DLC's of the original game, with six new additions, for a total of 30 tracks overall.

It brings the high octane speeds of its predecessor to the Switch, letting you indulge in their whiplash-inducing modes, beautifully rendered vehicles, and overall exhilarating gameplay. Putting aside the F-Zero similarities, RMX has a little feature that differentiates it from the rest, and gives it a new layer of depth. Speed past tracks and collect orbs to make use of color-coded boost strips littered around its stages.

The game also received a much needed graphical makeover with its jump to the Switch. Enjoy their collection of stunning landscapes with their 1080p resolutions in 60 frames per second.

Despite the positive reviews, it has also seen some criticisms because of its reported “lacking” online multiplayer that pits you against strangers, with no option to play with friends. However, developers assures that a patch is coming to improve it, along with an additional time attack mode. With competitive splitscreen and brutal hero mode challenges, you don’t have to look any further for that racing fix.

It receives a playscore of 8.3.

6. Snipperclips - Cut it out, together!

One of Switch's most beloved exclusives, SFB's Snipperclips is a cut above the rest with its unique puzzle mechanics that fits the social gaming vision of the portable console. Play as Snip and Clip and prove that two heads, or four, are better than one as you solve a variety of papercraft riddles.

While creativity is key for most puzzle games, the game takes that to a whole new level, giving you the freedom to cut through each other however you please. Overlap two areas, and snip away till you get your desired shapes. Pop some balloons, carry objects, and catch a few fireflies.

Other than its main world, it also offers a party mode that lets you work on puzzles together with up to four people, while Blitz Mode offers a more competitive atmosphere, shooting hoops in Basketball, and scoring goals in hockey.

Snipperclips doesn't exactly show off the power of the console, but it's one of the most unique and original games yet. With its vibrant colors, charming worlds, and adorable characters, it does a good job of engaging children and adults alike.

While not as expensive as other games in the Switch's lineup, it has been panned for a relative lack of content. You might be surprised to see you could complete their main puzzles in as much as three hours, with no rewards and extra content for replays. Be that as it may, it's still fantastically delightful and satisfyingly puzzling game.

It has a playscore of 8.36.

5. Splatoon 2

With the jawdropping success of their original game on the Wii U, it's no surprise that the Switch has geared us up for a revival on a modern classic. The battle between Inkling versus Inkling continues on as spatters of colored blots fill up your entire screen.

Making a splash on the hybrid console, the game offers a host of new features to enhance the ink-splatting misadventures. Enjoy a double dose of excitement with the dual splat option, or level up your skills with your powerful abilities and powerups.

But that's not all that changed in Inkopolis. Set 2 years after the first game, the squids have also come back with a collection of new weapons and gears, and a sweet fashion makeover. Return to their trademark tough turf wars and shoot it out in a gruelling 4v4 that's oozing with color and chaos. Take a splat with your ink-filled artillery and choose from its wide variety of memorable characters. This time, the territorial feud goes askew. Brotherhood and friendships will be tested, and families will be torn apart.

You'll also have a taste of a more personalized shooting experience with their improved motion controls. Decimate the opposition with your improved JoyCon aim, and watch them drown in the hues of courage and vengeance. It also offers a new mode called Salmon Run that lets you team up with friends to survive an Onslaught of Salmonids.

There’s a whole lotta things to love about the newest Splatoon, and we talk about in more detail with our latest gameplay linked below. It has a playscore of 8.4.

4. Puyo Puyo Tetris

An unlikely combination of two iconic arcade games, SEGA's Puyo Puyo teams up with the ever popular Tetris to create another fast-paced couch multiplayer for the Switch. This game is for anyone who either needs a two-fold nostalgic treatment, or a light and colorful challenge.

Go on Arcade Sprees by yourself in its single player adventure mode or drop blocks and blobs with friends in a variety of multiplayer game modes. Go 1v1 in the intense versus mode where you pile up combos and tetris lines to send an enormous garbage their way. Or you could tackle the arcade-switching Swap Mode that makes you play both Puyo and Tetris at the same time, or the hybrid fusion challenge, or the lightning fast Big Bang mode for some next level competition.

Check in on your ranks in the online leaderboards, and beat thousands of other players in this hearty battle of bubbles and lines. Even with the game's simplicity, the variety of game modes ensures it a high level of replayability for you and your friends to enjoy. With both online, local, and solo gameplays covered, it's a worthy addition to anyone's collection.

This game’s weird mixture kind of worked, and there’s no denying that. It has a playscore of 8.4

3. Disgaea 5 Complete

With Nintendo Switch finally giving us a way to play console quality games on the go, Nippon Ichi Software took their sixth Disgaea title to the portable hemisphere. Since its release on the PS4 in 2015, it has proven itself worthy of the attention as an addicting, and silly, strategy RPG. Now, with their port to the Switch, you'll be able to enjoy its tactical depth, as well as its laugh, wherever you go. Combining all their DLC releases into one definitive package, this complete edition includes all 8 bonus scenarios, 3 character classes, and the four additional fan-favorites.

If you're not familiar with the series, it follows the tale of Kilia--a demon out in a quest for vengeance against the Netherworld Emperor Void Dark. Fighting against the Void Dark's army of one million, the overworld lords have come together--given life and personality by its outstanding voice actors. Despite its complex and dark themes, it maintains a cool and humorous atmosphere complete with clever dialog and banter. It's one of the things that made the series popular in the first place.

While it wasn't much to look at on the PS4, it seems Disgaea has made quite a graphical improvement with its move to the Switch. With the PS4's 1080p visuals, Disgaea 5 rendering looked drab and almost outdated. But, running in its native 720p on the Switch's portable mode, it received an instantaneous pop of color and sharpness.

Reunite with your favorite lords, and relive the joys of this wacky strategy. It has a playscore of 8.43.

2. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

The most adorable racing game has made a mad dash to Nintendo's newest platform to bring their own brand unmitigated fun and disaster. While it might be a little disappointing not to have a whole new title for the Switch, it looks like this beautiful remaster has been a productive one at least. The most renowned Mario Kart to date brings in more surprises in the form of new features, characters, and improved battle modes.

Unlike the Wii U Original, players can now hold two items at once for twice as much high-speed chaos. And that's just the beginning. Other than the standard 1080p resolution upgrade that's expected of all games, it also has a new smart-steering feature, making handling much easier for beginners and veteran racers alike.Ride along new courses like Urchin Underpass and Battle Stadium, along with new appearances from King Boo, Dry Bones, the Inklings, and so much more.

Originally criticized for the boring online battle mode, this deluxe packs huge changes to the mode, giving it a whole new lease on life. With 5 new game modes and eight custom arenas, there's plenty more room to ballon bomb your friends for hours on end.

So grab your nifty Joy-Cons and set the pedal to the metal. It has a playscore of 9.13

1. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

As if anything could rival the sheer majesty of Nintendo’s latest Legend of Zelda title. Five months after the Switch’s launch, and after its breathtaking debut, Breath of Wild remains the primary game for the console. While it might be a good thing that Breath of the Wild, with its maddening perfection, has outclassed every release since its premiere, it might also be a cause for concern. However you take it, it’s obvious that this game is an absolute delight. Almost a year of waiting, and it did not disappoint at all.

Travel to the lush greens of the post-apocalyptic Hyrule where, bound by destiny, Link wakes up from to find Kings, Queens, Champions, and kingdoms have fallen. Follow him as he fulfills the prophecies once more to stop the evils of Calamity ganon.

In the first ever Zelda game to offer an open-ended experience, roam around its vast open world in a quest for discovery and answers. Do whatever you want, whenever you want, but don’t expect it to be another cakewalk. With magnets, time-stoppers, bombs, and much more, creativity is definitely a plus. Experiment with each of their effects, and use them to solve puzzles in new, unexpected ways.

Widely acclaimed across rating platforms and review sites, Breath of the Wild has been pegged as this year’s Game of the Year. And there’s no denying that possibility. Thanks to their open-ended gameplay, innovative mechanics, and beautiful environments, it has been a breakthrough for the modern videogame industry. Now, with new DLC’s coming up for the game, it looks like the adventure has just begun.

It has a playscore of 9.32.
