I have to say, it’s still mesmerizing to watch the characters get updated in the game, and this trailer makes sure to give us a look at almost everyone we meet in Remake. Besides that, we also have some few clips of gameplay, as well as some fantastic-looking boss battles.

With each installment of FF usually being its own self-contained story, it’s said that Remake will be the start of a new series of games set in the same world. Though it would pain players to have to wait for a sequel, the devs promise that Final Fantasy VII Remake will try to deliver a full experience.

Dark Souls and Bloodborne have given rise to the genre called Soulslike, and it looks like Cold Symmetry and Playstack are teaming up for their next Soulslike game, Mortal Shell.

Here’s the announce trailer:

"Awakening as an empty vessel, you will enter into a shattered and twisted world where the remains of humanity wither and rot. Implored to do the bidding of the mysterious “Dark Father”, you must traverse this tattered landscape and track down hidden sanctums of devout followers. There, in Mortal Shell’s most hallowed grounds, you must overcome formidable foes and harvest the sacred glands. You won’t be truly alone when the dead litter your path: Scattered across this land are the remnant anima of lost warriors who can be inhabited to gain their unique abilities and knowledge of weapons. The Dark Father is desperate for you to complete your task — but to what end?"

According to IGN, the game was originally supposed to be called Dungeonhaven, and though the world looks expansive, it’s said to have been developed by a small team of only 15 people. What’s interesting though, is that members of this crack team all have had experience working on AAA titles.

What’s cool about Mortal Shell is that it will allow players to take over ‘shells’ of their fallen enemies, and with each enemy comes a unique skill set that players have to master. And since this game is Soulslike, you can expect some very punishing, boss-based gameplay, complete with a dark, lush environment.

The studio founders Andrew McLennan-Murray, Anton Gonzalez, and Vitaly Bulgarov had said in a statement:

“For a small team like ours, developing this title in many ways felt like crossing an ocean on a paddle board… To finally announce Mortal Shell is one of the most exciting and terrifying experiences we’ve had in our lifetimes. The last two years have been a time of non-stop growth, full of shocking revelations of sheer complexity that goes into creating a video game that you, yourself, would really enjoy playing.”

The game is aiming for a release this year, and though we should have expected a delay with the Coronavirus Outbreak, this trailer drop seems indicate that the developers are planning on making the game available soon.

Mortal Shell still has no release date, but the game is going to be playable for Xbox One, PC, and PS4.

It looks like Cold Symmetry and Playstack are teaming up for their next Soulslike game, Mortal Shell.

Pong is a classic game from the 70s which is considered to be the first video game ever made. With franchises like Pac-Man and Sonic getting reboots, Atari has decided to put a new spin on Pong and has released the trailer for Pong Quest.

Check it out:

It’s PONG like you’ve never thought it could be! Immerse yourself in a whole new world of PONG-inspired fun where you’ll adventure as a brave young paddle traversing a variety of treacherous dungeons, all loosely based on classic Atari hits, including Asteroids®, Centipede®, and more. Your journey will dictate the fate of PONG World as you reveal the mysteries of… the Spooky Door!

It’s actually a pretty unique spin on the classic game, and it’s interesting that the developers managed to find a way to incorporate other classic Atari titles to the revamp. As for additional features, players will be able to customize their different paddle avatars with the game, they’ll also be able to use 50 different types of balls that will have unique power-ups. What’s more, a multiplayer system is also in place that will allow players to engage other people online.

Atari COO Jean-Marcel Nicolai also had this to say about the game:

PONG as an RPG is something completely unexpected, but wonderful in execution… We are thrilled to bring PONG Quest to life to honor the classic IP and bring the beloved gameplay to a new generation of players and RPG fans. Atari has a rich portfolio of titles and exploring new ways to breathe new life into those franchises yields exciting results.

This looks like a good bit of fun, and I can’t wait to check out just how ‘modern’ Atari’s new take on PONG is going to feel like.

PONG Quest will run for $14.99 and will be available for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

My Friend Pedro is a crazy shooter game that came out last year, and though publisher Devolver Digital had said that the title was going to be a Nintendo Switch exclusive, it looks like MFP is going to be making its way to the PlayStation 4 this April.

Here’s the gameplay trailer:

The game was actually developed by independent studio Deadtoast Entertainment, and has players go on a John Wick-inspired rampage that has you jumping through vents and shooting up enemies on a skateboard. The game had received generally great reviews when it came out, and though it’s short, it still manages to keep the action fresh despite using familiar gameplay mechanics.

What’s great about this PS4 version is that it will also come with extra Code Yellow content and will come with 14 full-throttle game modifiers that include an in-game timer, a hidden HUD option, and a lot more.

My Friend Pedro is a violent ballet about friendship, imagination, and one man’s struggle to obliterate anyone in his path at the behest of a sentient banana. The strategic use of split aiming, slow motion, and the ol’ stylish window breach create one sensational action sequence after another in an explosive battle through the violent underworld.

My Friend Pedro is now available for PC, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, but the game comes to the PS4 on April 2.

Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker already has a vast roster of playable characters, but a new DLC has come in the form of the franchise’s greatest ninja, Naruto.

Hokage Naruto is now a playable character in the game, and Bandai Namco has released a new trailer for him:

While it’s not my favorite version of Naruto, it’s a good addition for anyone who prefers the Boruto timeline. He goes hand-in-hand with the Boruto version of Sasuke, and though I know some people hold some animosity to her, I would also love a playable version of adult Sakura down the line; just to complete the trio.

Hokage Naruto is actually part of the Season Pass 2 content for the game which includes several other characters like Killerbee, Adult Sasuke, Might Guy, Zabuza, and plenty more. The Season Pass 2 including all those characters runs for $29.99, but if you want to by characters individualy, you only need to spend $3.99.

For now it looks like Hokage Naruto will be the last character coming to Season Pass 2, but hopefully we can an update for more incoming heroes before the year ends.

Torchlight III is set to come out later this year, and though we already have a look at different classes like the Dusk Mage, Railmaster, and Forged, Perfect World has decided to give us a look at a fourth class coming to the game—the Sharpshooter.

Besides being good with ranged weapons, the Sharpshooter is also said to be prolific when it comes to summoning spirits. According to Arc Games, The devs have actually been working on the character for years, finding out a good balance between a magic hero or a more tool-based one, and they ended up with the Sharpshooter who is described as a ‘bit of a scoundrel.’

With Torchlight II having four classes to pick from, some think that this Sharpshooter could be the last class for the third game. Then again, maybe the devs would want to add a few more. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see if they have anything else up their sleeves.

It’s been centuries since the events of Torchlight II, and the Ember Empire is in decline.
Live Service Games or Games As a Service is a brand new business model for gaming. These are the kind of games that are ‘alive’ and constantly add new content every season, which includes Battle Passes, Cosmetics, Expansions and of course microtransactions. Controversial as they are, these games have become the forefront of the gaming industry with their enjoyability and massive stream of revenue.

1. Fortnite: Battle Royale

Drop down that battle bus and dominate the cartoonish battlefield with your squad of three. Fortnite: Battle Royale was the game that signalled a new age for young gamers to participate in this non-brutal battle to the death. Packed with an almost endless amount of content every month, unlock new skins and discover the perplexing mysteries in its crazy world. A playscore of 8.35 on the PS4 and followed by the rest of these consoles.

Tactical first person shooter is Siege’s strongest feature. Most FPS titles rely on fast-paced moment to moment action with no room for breathing. In R6: Siege, taking time and planning ahead is a key strategy to win the game.

Grounded on actual CTUs, realism is the main priority in this live-service game from Ubisoft.
Blizzard’s days when it comes to their dungeon-crawling icon, Diablo, has reached a standstill. First released on the PC last 2013, it took a while for Path of Exile to make a name for itself as the ‘Diablo killer’, and now it’s 2020, it has proven itself with its massive playerbase and expansive new content drops.

Grinding Gear Games expanded on the isometric dungeon crawling with online activities that Diablo III didn’t deliver during their launch. It's still going strong today as a free to play title that's also free from the hassle of paywalls. A little daunting for beginners, there's no reason NOT to check it out, with an impressive score of 8.14 on the PC.

Hi-Rez’s very own take on the hero-shooter genre sparked a few controversies during its launch, but over the years it gained its own identity with more heroes and diverse multiplayer modes to choose from.

At launch, Paladins wasn’t free-to-play and it took them almost a year to change their business model. Now a Live Service game, Paladins continue to add new features to the game including a new champion every now and then and some sweet lore.

Paladins isn’t Overwatch, it’s its own kind of fun with a complex deck-building system. It receives a playscore of 8.03 on the PC and PS4 and 7.25 on the Xbox One.

The game boasts over 80 deities, figures, and mythological creatures from the world's many lores and religions...along with a few questionable additions.

Whether it is Zeus, Thor, Anubis, or even the newly added Mulan, you're bound to find a god or warrior for you. Whatever game mode you choose, it's always a fight for praise and eternal glory.
Valve knows how to keep pumping the good stuff. Making its humble beginnings as a WarCraft mod, it was a game that single handedly started the MOBA genre. Valve redeveloped a sequel with overhauled graphics, improved UI, and remodeled heroes.

Despite its vibrant looks, It boasts one of the steepest learning curves. With hundreds of heroes(and counting), and deep mechanics, there’s a lot of things you won’t learn on your first days, weeks, and even years. Its live-service approach come from its constant meta changes and patches, every new update shifts the way heroes play.
Another title from Valve. Counter Strike: Source gave birth to a number of shooters from their very own Source engine. Now, Global Offensive was built on the strong foundations of the already established franchise, and slapping it on with updated visuals, improved multiplayers, and a few new modes. Not to mention it recently turned free-to-play for all players.

It provides an intense, skill-based system that even today, it still has an active community and a strong eSports scene. Its latest content, Shattered Web, brings in new equippable agents and a revamped battle pass system.

While its punishing learning curve might be too much for newcomers, the grind is always worth it, it has a playscore of 8.46 on the PC.

Gather your squad of three, select your champion and begin the hunt. It shares the same hero-based strategy from Blizzard’s Overwatch, but the action is quicker as time pushes everyone to keep moving forward.

As far as Battle Royales go, become the last squad standing in an arena of 60 people. Whether you want to take it slow, or aggressively, the choice is up to you. EA’s continuous support for this game brings in more content every month. Its latest hero, Revenant, adds a harrowing presence to the arena. A playscore of 8.44 on the PlayStation 4.

12. Hearthstone: Heroes Of Warcraft

Whether you like it or not, it’s the leading CG in the gaming sphere. Not even Blizzard’s controversial debacle could stop this strategy game from dying.

Over its 6-year run, the game still plays the same. Control a deck and choose among the 9 iconic classes and characters from the Warcraft universe. Each has their own unique abilities that shape the battlefield, and it’s up to you to outsmart your opponent
.

Maximize your turn by dealing the most efficient damage to your enemy and watch them concede when you play your cards well. With expansions and balance changes coming in every season, it’s a good game for a casually fun card-battling experience. A playscore of 8.41 on the Android.

13. Fallout: Shelter

Looks like Bethesda’s Fallout spin-off made it to the list, and others might not be too happy about this. A quirky social commentary about the effects of nuclear war, become the overseer and build your own underground Fallout bunker.

Rebuild civilization the bowels of the earth. Repopulate your citizens and create a thriving community capable of sustaining their day to day activities, except for any incoming Raider or Deathclaw attack.

The main Fallout titles may have suffered a literal fallout in quality, but this casual simulation offers fresh content every month. It’s currently free on the PC, Android and the iOS and it receives a playscore of 7.98, 8.51 and 8.17 respectively.

14. Rocket League

Hear the roaring engines of indestructible cars. Rocket League is a sports game that mixes over-the-top physics and a fun multiplayer experience for all ages.

The goal (pun intended) of the game is simple. Use your rocket-powered vehicle to control one giant ball, race across the pitch and score a goal. It’s literally soccer with a big hauling metal twist.

It has become a notable inclusion to the eSports scene and to this day, developer Psyonix continues to support the game with Rocket Passes, competitive seasons and a bigger eSport tournament in the future. It has a playscore of 8.84 on the PS4 and here are for the other consoles.

15. Overwatch

Blizzard hit the jackpot when their team-based hero-shooter dominated the market when it released. Overwatch, to this day, is still alive and kicking, although their numbers aren’t quite record-breaking as it was before.

Blizzard is currently focusing on their hero-based composition up until now, over the years its live service feature has presented new gameplay changes into the mix including their latest role-lock and the upcoming new DPS hero, Echo.

Of course, these are all but preparations for their most anticipated sequel, Overwatch 2, on which the details are still a mystery as of the moment. It receives a playscore of 8.62 on the PS4, 8.57 on the PC and 8.07 on the Xbox One.

Honorable Mentions

PLAYERUNKNOWN’s BATTLEGROUNDS. When Fortnite is too cartoony, there’s always Bluehole’s realistic Battle Royale. Be the last man standing in a battlefield of 100 players and get that chicken dinner. Its recent updates range from weapon balance and bug fixes.

League Of Legends. Riot Game’s very own MOBA is something, but its parade of abysmal reviews turned this game’s playscore upside down. Nonetheless, it’s still hailed as one of the most played game in the world, despite its… community.

GWENT: The Witcher Card Game. It couldn’t really compete with the big CGs just yet, but CD Projekt Red’s standalone version of Witcher III’s Gwent is shaping up to be a strong competitive card game in the eSports scene. CDPR constantly adds new cards to its expansions every season.

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. Square Enix’s prodigal son returns and its massive overhaul gave birth to a rising number of new players. This MMORPG takes you to the world of Final Fantasy oozing with spellbinding magic and adorable chocobos. Its latest expansion, Shadowbringers, changes everything we know about XIV.

World Of Warships. Wargaming’s free-to-play battleship game is still racking up a strong playerbase. Navigate the high seas with your team of explorers and battle it out with destroyers, cruisers, and battleships. It’s a high-stakes all-out war, complete with history's iconic vessels from around the globe.

THQ Nordic had released the Ragnarok expansion for Titan Quest PC back in 2017, but players for the Xbox One and PS4 haven’t had anything but the Immortal Throne expansion that came out back in 2007. The good news is, Ragnarok is finally coming to consoles, and we have two new trailers to get you excited.

What’s great is, Titan Quest: Ragnarok will also come with a new level cap plus a new mastery for your heroes. The expansion also gives players a new story act that promises ‘thousands of new enemies and dozens of bosses’—enabling players to get better loot.

A third expansion, Titan Quest: Atlantis had come out last year, but we still have any idea when that will be coming to consoles. The good news is, THQN promises that they , ‘don’t think it will take much longer.’

At long last, Titan Quest continues its epic journey through the world of antiquity. A mysterious threat calls the heroes of Hades to the uncharted lands of northern Europe, where new enemies await and new powers and treasures are waiting to be found! This new expansion to the acclaimed Anniversary Edition of Titan Quest adds a fifth act of unprecedented scope, along with many new and requested features including new weapon types and a 10th Mastery for your characters to learn.

Titan Quest: Ragnarok is currently available for $20, but the expansion is only available for Xbox One and PS4; it looks like Nintendo Switch players will have to wait.
