The iconic Japanese franchise Digimon has some exciting news for its legion of fans and avid players. Bandai, a Japanese video game giant, has announced the release date of the PC and Nintendo Switch versions of Digimon World: Next Order.

Bandai Namco Entertainment America, Inc. has revealed that Digimon World: Next Order will be released on Steam for PC and Nintendo Switch on February 22, 2023. The game's Japanese version is also set to be launched on the same date.

As a result, Bandai Namco Entertainment America Brand Manager, Summer Nguyen, said they are set to welcome more players, including new ones, into Digimon.

We are excited to Digi-debut this beloved title on new platforms so that fans can return to the magic of Digimon World: Next Order or so that a whole new Digi-generation can experience it for the very first time! said Nguyen.

Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc. is Bandai's California-based subsidiary. Bandai has also released its official game trailer on YouTube, giving gamers and fans a glimpse of what they can expect.

The storyline and gameplay of the monster-collecting RPG will be the same on both PC and Nintendo Switch. In it, players will take control of Shiki (female) or Takuto (male) in exploring the open world of the Digital World. The town of Floatia will serve as its home base.

They can choose from a roster of over 200 Digimon buddies to join them on their adventure. And their goal is to save the Digital World from Machinedramon, a virus-infected Digimon.

Digimon World: Next Order is the sixth title in Digimon's Digital World series.

It was first released for the PlayStation Vita in Japan last 2016. A year later, Bandai launched Digimon World: Next Order International Edition for players from North America and regions that support Phase Alternating Line (PAL) televisions.
