Back in 2018, Ubisoft had given us Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, and with Ancient Greece out of the way, the devs are now bringing us to the world of Vikings.
Here’s the official description:

Become Eivor, a mighty Viking raider and lead your clan from the harsh shores of Norway to a new home amid the lush farmlands of ninth-century England. Explore a beautiful, mysterious open world where you'll face brutal enemies, raid fortresses, build your clan's new settlement, and forge alliances to win glory and earn a place in Valhalla.

England in the age of the Vikings is a fractured nation of petty lords and warring kingdoms. Beneath the chaos lies a rich and untamed land waiting for a new conqueror. Will it be you?

With the games moving farther from stealth game territory and more into what The Witcher series has become, it looks like we’re going to get what Odyssey had to offer and more. It still looks like an open world where we can clash with enemies in a battlefield, but this time, we’ll be able to build our own villages and headquarters.

It has also been confirmed online that you could pick between a male and female protagonist, plus you can customize everything, even your character’s tattoos. Your spirit animal is also said to be a raven this time, which kind of ties in to the mythic element which will be of Norse origin. It’s also possible that we’ll also get some more naval combat, what with these Viking ships in the mix.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is set for a release this coming holiday season.

The Crash Bandicoot franchise has been back ever since the successful release of the N. Sane Trilogy and the rebooted Crash Team Racing, and now everyone’s favorite marsupial is setting his eyes on the mobile gaming market.

According to IGN, Crash Bandicoot Mobile has had a ‘soft launch’ and is now available in select regions. The game actually comes from Candy Crush creators King, and looks to be an endless runner game with the titular Crash as the main playable character.

We’ll also get appearances from several other beloved characters in the franchise like Coco, Uka Uka, and Dingodile.

Here’s the official description on the playstore:

Crash Bandicoot has cemented itself as a classic platformer, and it’s kind of a no-brainer that it should find itself as a mobile game in today’s climate. For now, the game is still in a testing phase, and there are a lot of bugs, but once the devs manage to work out the kinks, I can imagine that we’re going to get a big launch trailer soon.

We’ve already gotten a general look at Perfect World and Echtra Games’ upcoming Torchlight title, and Torchlight III promises to give us a lot more options compared to the previous entry. What’s cool is, players will be able to build their own forts, and we have a new look at the system.

With so many options, picking what to put in your fort might be harder than you think! Will you build an estate dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge and camaraderie? Or will you construct an iron fortress made solely to wage war on your enemies? You decide!

It’s said that players will have access to their forts early into the first act of the game. We don’t really know what kind of relevance they’ll hold with gameplay, but I can imagine that it’s going to be a type of headquarters that players can just teleport to mid-game.

For more details on the Fort system, you can just check it out here.

Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most anticipated games of the year, and though the game is set to come out in September, CD Projekt Red has teamed up with Microsoft to give us a limited edition Xbox One X this coming June.

Here’s the official announcement:

Created in collaboration between designers from CD PROJEKT RED and Microsoft, the limited-edition, 1TB console encapsulates the urban decay and vibrant tech of Night City. Its design features glow-in-the-dark elements, custom decorative panels, LEDs, color-shift effects, and textures — all evoking numerous facets of Cyberpunk 2077’s dark future setting.

The console comes with an Xbox wireless controller uniquely inspired by the character of Johnny Silverhand, featuring a half natural, half cyber-enhancement chrome design. Available as part of the bundle later this year, the controller can also be purchased separately right now at select retailers, including the Microsoft Store.

While the console doesn’t come with the game itself, it does come with a digital download code for Cyberpunk 2077. It’s also bound to come with ‘other surprises’ as well, but for now it looks like the devs aren’t ready to make that announcement.

Personally, I don’t know if anyone would be interested in buying an Xbox One X now seeing that Microsoft is set to release their next gen console, the Xbox Series X, later in the year. Then again, we should expect sales for the current gen of consoles to rise over time, seeing that the next gen is here, so maybe there will be some fans who would be interested in this limited edition.

The limited edition Xbox One X is set to release in June. Cyberpunk 2077 is set for a release on Sept. 17.

We’ve gotten simulators of everything from goats to drug dealers, but now Ultimate Games SA is allowing players to take control of the Holy Father with Pope Simulator.

Check out the trailer:

Here’s the official description:

Realistic simulator of the Pope – face the problems of the modern world from the point of view of the head of the Church. Make decisions that will weigh on the fate of humanity, convert and support the crowds. Plan the church's strategic actions through faithful envoys. Manage your travels around the globe. Fight for peace.

Oddly enough, the game goes into very great detail about what it’s like to be the pope. Besides going around the Vatican and blessing followers, you actually have the option to go to war-torn areas and spread the Word of God. You can even meet up with warlords and try to bring the humanity out of them.

The details don’t stop there as well, you can even go so far as to alter your pope’s traits like Persuasion, Knowledge, and Sacrifice which will affect how you play the game and interact with the rest of the world.

Ultimate Games SA CEO Mateusz Zawadzki also had this to say about Pope Simulator:

“The Pope has no military or economic power behind him, but he has other means of influencing the world, which was evident in the 1980s, for example, when the communist system in Poland collapsed. Our idea assumes the possibility to use, among others, the so-called soft power, and – consequently – influence the fate of the world and interfere in international politics. All this, of course, in accordance with the vision adopted by the player”

No specific release date has been set for Pope Simulator yet, but we do know that it’s expected to hit PC.

Niantic has found itself in quite a pickle with Pokemon GO. Seeing that the game’s main focus is to get players up and about, the worldwide lockdown is forcing the developers to come up with a new way for players to enjoy the game. Just in, we have some details on updates that have been added in order to cope with COVID-19.

With players unable to meet up in specific locations, Niantic is offering this new item called a Remote Raid Pass which will allow players to join nearby raids that are visible from the Map View. Don’t expect this feature to be permanent though, as devs are planning to make tweaks depending on how the pandemic situation plays out over time.

What’s more, players will now receive a daily bonus Field Research task without having to spin a Pokestop. These are different from usual Field Research tasks and promises to allow players to perform them where they are. The game is also allowing a new system where you can have buddies that bring you Gifts from a nearby Pokestop; plus players will be allowed to power up their Pokemon faster and activate multiple Lucky Eggs, Star Pieces, and Incense at the same time.

Niantic also had this to say about the current situation of the game:

As we work to continue improving your gameplay experience, we wanted to express our gratitude for your continued support and feedback. Our team is working hard to address your concerns and create new and exciting gameplay that can be enjoyed both from home and also when we are able to go out and explore again together. We can’t wait to get out and GO!

While twin-stick shooters aren’t really that big with the mainstream, the genre still manages to be fun and best played in groups. Just in, we have a new title called Tacticool Champs from Awesome Industries which feels like a mash-up of Team Fortress 2 and Super Bomberman.

Check out the gameplay:

The game also comes with this intro:

In Tacticool Champs, players get to choose between 10 unique characters as they duke it out in these Bomberman-type square arenas. You have 18 weapons to choose from and a choice between 10 arenas and 60 different types of blocks.

What’s great is, the game also comes with a version where you can play online with others, or offline with guests on your couch. Single players can also opt to have bot matches (which is probably best since we’re all under self-quarantine right now); and there’s also an in-game arena editor just in case you want to exercise your creativity by crafting your own unique death arena.

The game actually looks pretty fun, but we don’t know too much of it yet. With release set for later this year though, hopefully we get a trailer drop with more information and a rundown of the different game modes we can expect with Tacticool Champs.

Tacticool Champs will be available on the Xbox One and PS4 in the second quarter of 2020, but it's also coming soon to the Nintendo Switch version on the fourth quarter of the same year.

For more upcoming games, you can check out our respective upcoming games lists on the PC,PS4, Xbox One, and the Switch.

The last entry of the Sakura Wars game franchise came out back in 2005 with Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love. Now, Sega is set to release the latest iteration for the PS4 this year, and we have a new trailer for Sakura Wars: Demon Conflict.

Check it out:

Here’s the official description for the game:

As the Imperial Combat Revue prepares to compete in the Combat Revue World Games, their challenge is far bigger than just themselves. As with every combat revue in the world, their true purpose is to protect their city from demons-hostile, grotesque creatures born from the anger and malice of human beings.

Beyond their revenue-raising theater productions, the team has been training and getting their Type-3 Kobu Spiricle Armor and Mugen-class Spiricle Strikers combat-ready in order to bring the Flower Division back to its rightful role as Tokyo's venerable defense force.

The game had actually come out to the Japanese market last year, but only now is it finding itself being brought to Western audiences. Sakura Wars actually mixes several game elements together; besides your standard action RPG, you also have character interactions akin to that of SIM dates.

What’s interesting is that the character designs from this game come from Tite Kubo, who is best known for his work on the hit anime/manga Bleach. I have to say, Kubo’s art gives a new feel to the world that was created by Oji Hiroi, and I love this new generation of Kobu pilots.

Sakura Wars: Demon Conflict is set to come to the PS4 on April 28. For more games coming soon, you can check out the complete and updated list of Upcoming PS4 Games.
