For months, we have been teased about a mysterious Project Maverick from EA Motive, and after a delayed announcement last week, we finally have a look at Star Wars: Squadrons.

Check it out:

The game also comes with this official description:

Buckle up, take full control of starfighters such as the X-wing and TIE fighter, and feel the adrenaline of strategic first-person 5v5 multiplayer dogfights alongside your squadrons.

In a fateful campaign set near the conclusion of the Galactic Civil War, learn what it means to be a pilot in a thrilling STAR WARS™ single-player story. The New Republic fights for freedom. The Empire demands order. We need you to join the galaxy’s finest.

This preview doesn’t really come with any gameplay footage. With Motive having a hand at developing Star Wars Battlefront II, it’s likely the Starfighter gameplay is going to be the something similar. But Motive may introduce some new mechanics for this game.

Oddly enough, Squadrons comes with a price tag of $40 USD, making it one of the cheaper games to come out. This is leading some to speculate that the game is contained and will have a short single-player campaign not unlike Battlefront II.

Star Wars: Squadrons is set to come out on Oct. 2 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

One of the games announced in the PlayStation 5 reveal was Neostream's Little Devil Inside which caught somewhat of a controversy when it was pointed out that one of the enemies in the game was a racist stereotype.

On Twitter, this was pointed out by a user with the handle @LordBalvin posting:

Apparently the design was deemed offensive because of the dreadlocks, thick lips, and blow darts that somehow resemble marijuana joints.

If anything, Neostream had responded on Facebook and are saying that they are open to redesigning the characters. They wrote:

Racist stereotypes of any kind were absolutely not intended, we were not aware of the stereotypical connotations and wish to apologize to anyone who may have been offended by the character design.

As for the fix, they have mentioned four changes to the character which include removing the dreadlocks, changing the lips, changing the skin tone, and redesigning the blow dart as to make it look less like a joint. If that isn’t enough though, the devs are open to doing a complete overhaul of the character.

The PlayStation 5 announcement for Sony was filled with a lot of highly anticipated titles and Annapurna Interactive managed to nab a slot to promote their upcoming game, Stray.

Here’s the teaser:

Here’s the official description of the game as well:

Stray is a third-person cat adventure game set amidst the detailed neon-lit alleys of a decaying cybercity and the murky environments of its seedy underbelly. Roam surroundings high and low, defend against unforeseen threats and solve the mysteries of this unwelcoming place inhabited by nothing but unassuming droids and dangerous creatures.

We don’t have an official story or look at the main parts of gameplay, but since this is just a teaser, it would make sense that the devs are just letting us have a nice look at the world first.

The game looks to let players emulate whatever a cat can do in this future world, and you’re even encouraged to ‘annoy’ people with whatever you have in your arsenal.

It’s also mentioned that you will eventually get access to a flying companion B12, who is there to help you traverse your journey and ‘find a way out.’

No release date has been set for Stray, but the game is set to come to PS5 sometime in 2021. For more games, you can check out our complete and updated list of PS5 Games

Stray Lets You Play As A Lonely Cat from the Future on the PS5

Though Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding (DS) may have come out as a PS4 exclusive, Kojima Productions is set to release the game to PC next month. With DS expected to be a massive game, we now have details on the specs required to play the game on PC.

According to PC Gamer, these are the minimum required specs to play the game:

OS: Windows 10

CPU: Intel® Core i5-3470 or AMD Ryzen 3 1200

RAM: 8 GB

GPU: GeForce GTX 1050 3 GB or AMD Radeon RX 560 4 GB DirectX 12

HDD: 80GB

Sound cards: DirectX compatible

There are actually 2 kinds of recommended specs for Death Stranding though, one for 30fps and the other for 60fps (both of these are at 1080p resolution):

Recommended 30fps:

OS: Windows 10

CPU: Intel Core i5-4460 or AMD Ryzen 5 1400

RAM: 8 GB

GPU: GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4 GB or Radeon RX 570 4 GB DirectX 12

HDD: 80GB

Sound cards: DirectX compatible

Recommended 60fps

OS: Windows 10

CPU: Intel Core i7-3770 or AMD Ryzen 5 1600

RAM: 8 GB

GPU: GeForce GTX 1060 6 GB or AMD Radeon RX 590
· DirectX 12

HDD: 80GB

Sound cards: DirectX compatible

It’s going to be interesting to see just how the game is ported over to PC, counting that there are some gameplay elements that feel exclusive to the console. I mean, if you have to use your controller to balance the packages that you’re handling, how does that translate to a keyboard and mouse set-up?

Admittedly Death Stranding is not a game for everyone, but you can’t deny that creative force that is Hideo Kojima. Hopefully the next title from KojiPro will be received with unanimous approval.

Fans have waited seven years for the release of The Last of Us Part II, and the game is finally going to come out next week. While this looks to be the end of the story with Ellie, creative director Neil Druckmann reveals that there could be a third game down the line.

Talking to GQ, Druckmann talks about his plans after the release of Part II, and he reveals:

“As you start wrapping things up, creatively there are fewer and fewer responsibilities and my mind can’t help but think about the next thing… So, yeah, the next thing could be a Part III, the next thing could be some new IP.”

No one has any idea what’s coming by the end of The Last of Us Part II, but it may be safe to assume that Ellie doesn’t die.

With The Last of Us universe spending decades in an apocalyptic state thanks to the Cordyceps, the third game may revolve around trying to deliver a cure to the infected.

Until we can get our hands on Part II, fans can only guess what happens. Druckmann himself has stated that the ending was not part of the leaked plots.

Creative director Neil Druckmann reveals that there could be a third game down the line

The Last of Us Director: "The next thing could be a Part III"?

While several games have you fighting against zombies or demons, very few of them actually have you tackling with your own sanity. That’s what StickyLock Studios and Alterego Games are planning to deliver with their next title, Sanity of Morris.

Here’s the official description:

Sanity of Morris is a psychological horror adventure game in which you fear darkness but can’t risk exposure to the light or you’ll be caught. The game tells the story of a young man trying to stay sane in the search for his father, consumed by conspiracy theories about the government and alien signals.

The game pretty much looks like BioShock but with most of the scares and none of the action. You have to focus on investigating your way around the environment in an attempt to discover the truth about your father. You even get to collect audio tapes and secret files—just like in BioShock.

One major element of the gameplay is also that you have to balance seeking out information and avoiding stress. If your character gets too stressed, you might go insane—much like your father and his alien conspiracies.

Creative director Dominic de Graaf had this to say about the game:

“We wanted to create something new and exciting, but also keep doing what we’re good at; storytelling. So for Sanity of Morris we took from Woven the adventure genre, having collectibles and working with a strong narrative. But then we added a whole layer of psychological horror in the music, in the visuals, and it’s really unnerving!

In this game, you will start to question John’s reality. It makes for an engaging experience, like an interactive movie, perfect for escaping daily life. And we can all use that right about now.”

No specific release date has been announced for Sanity of Morris, but the game is expected to come out on PC, PS4, and Xbox One on the fourth quarter of 2020.

For more upcoming games, you can check out our respective lists for Upcoming Xbox One, Upcoming PC, and Upcoming PS4.

Sony's delay of last week's PlayStation 5 event was a bummer, but it looks like we won’t have to wait too long for the reveal.

As found spotted on a Twitch ad by Fandom, the PlayStation 5 announce looks to have been moved to June 11. Here’s the photo:

A lot of fans were disappointed that Sony cancelled the event last week, but I think it was ultimately a good move on Sony’s part to delay the announcement.

Sony postponed the PlayStation 5 event from its original date last June 4 to give way to the voices of the growing Black Lives Matter protests in the wake of the death of George Floyd in Minnesota.

We don’t have much details on the console yet, but everyone is excited for the possible lineup of games that could come with the PlayStation 5.

Titles like Cyberpunk 2077 and Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla have been confirmed for the next gen console, but everyone is hoping to get updates on games like Spider-Man 2 or the follow-up to the latest God of War.

EA Games has Origin as a platform for their games but, later this June, they’re going to be bringing some of their titles to Steam.

According to EA, the first titles that they're bringing to Steam include Dragon Age: Inquisition, Dragon Age II, Need for Speed Heat, Need for Speed: Rivals, and Need for Speed.

Even independent games are coming to the platform like Fe, Sea of Solitude, Unravel and Unravel Two. Plus, players will also be able to try out Plants vs Zombies: Battle for Neighborville.

These titles are only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to EA Access, and we should expect that more will be available in The Vault.

EA Access will give subscribers an enhanced gaming experience by including several rewards when it comes to their titles. Also, expect some in-game member benefits when everything goes live.

We don’t have the full round of info for EA Access on Steam yet, but we should get the full rundown when EA Play goes live. Catch it on EA.com 4 p.m. PST on June 11.

Capcom has recently found success with the remakes of classic entries in the Resident Evil franchise. With Resident Evil 4 next in line for a remake, franchise creator Shinji Mikami comments on that possibility.

Talking to IGN, Mikami comments, "I saw a video of the Resident Evil 2 Remake and I thought it was very good. I think they're going to continue to remake these games since they're selling well."

When it comes to the inevitable remake of RE4, Mikami says, “As long as it turns out good, I have no issues with it.”

Resident Evil 4 released in 2005, and it’s one of the only two RE games which Mikami directed. In the game you take control of former Racoon City officer Leon as he’s sent on a mission to rescue the US president’s daughter who was kidnapped by a mysterious cult.

Resident Evil 4 would be the last RE game due for a remake, as Resident Evil 5 was released for the current generation of consoles. Of course, they can also remake Resident Evil: Deadly Silence and The Umbrella Chronicles, but it may be best if the franchise just moved forward.

A remake of Resident Evil 4 has not been officially announced, but with the success of the last two remakes, it’s very possible Capcom would say something before the year ends.

Soft Paw Studios has released a trailer for their new game on Steam, Memory.

Here’s the official description:

Memory challenges your protagonist to spend summer in the quaint little town of Woodland Park, a beautiful cozy retreat far away from the stress of modern life. Your adventure begins as you settle at your Grandmother’s house and set out to explore your surroundings.

Little by little you realize that history long forgotten comes to surface and the inhabitants you meet carry tales of lost forgotten secrets from a buried past that will not stay hidden. You discover that a single terrible event forever changed Woodland Park and your task is to unveil the truth.

While the tagline teases a horror story, Memory looks like a stress free romp that will have you going around town, solving puzzles and mysteries. There will be several kinds of goals to pursue, from collecting radio transmissions to retrieving memories—all in the setting of the mysterious Woodland Park.

I think the vibe of the game is kind of ominous and creepy, but that’s what the game is going for. After all, mystery and suspense are genres that go hand-in-hand.
