The DOOM franchise had successfully been rebooted back in 2016, and DOOM Eternal has managed to blow players away when it came out last March. Just in, we have a launch trailer for the first DLC coming to the game called The Ancient Gods – Part One.

Your mission is now your own. The legions of Hell have razed the heavens, threatening to expand their control across dimensions. Unleash your vengeance and battle back to the Maykr’s realm. Defeat powerful new threats, restore order to the heavens and unearth the corruption that has thrown the universe into chaos.

As you can expect from the DOOM franchise, the expansion is chock-full of new creatures to slay and elaborate levels to jump around in. We also get a look at some new arsenal, and I’m sure there’s an overarching story that should give a bit more substance to your murder romp.

The Ancient Gods – Part One actually comes with the Year One Pass for DOOM Eternal, but you can also purchase it as a separate package digitally. We don’t know when the second part comes out yet, but hopefully we can get some kind of tease by the end of the latest expansion.

Doom Eternal: The Ancient Gods – Part One is now available for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.

We’re in the last leg of October, and we’re drawing closer to the launch of CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077. A lot of people are excited to explore this vast and rich world, and besides all the action and gameplay, CDPR has given us an inside look at the style of the world.

Watch this:

So far, the style has been split into four distinct categories, Kitsch (style over substance), Entropism (necessity over style), Neomilitarism (substance over style), and Neokitsch (style and substance). What’s great is, each style is reminiscent of your character’s standing in the world. While that may sound a tad political, I think it adds a rich layer into the world-building; with the poor having to choose between looking lavish or being functional and the rich being able to afford both.

While this game has been delayed several times, I’m actually fine as long as CDPR has delivered a solid game. After their success with The Witcher III, the stakes are higher than ever for Cyberpunk 2077 to be another homerun for the studio.

Cyberpunk 2077 is an open-world, action-adventure story set in Night City, a megalopolis obsessed with power, glamour and body modification. You play as V, a mercenary outlaw going after a one-of-a-kind implant that is the key to immortality. You can customize your character’s cyberware, skillset and playstyle, and explore a vast city where the choices you make shape the story and the world around you.

Cyberpunk 2077 is set to come out to the Xbox One, PS4, and PC on Nov. 19.
While Animal Crossing: New Horizons may be one of the most popular “slice of life” games out on consoles right now, Humble Games has teased the release of their cool-looking puzzle adventure game called Carto. The game is set to come out later this month, and it’s been revealed that pre-orders are now available
.

Carto is a chill adventure game wrapped around a unique, world-shifting puzzle mechanic. Use this power to explore mysterious lands, help a quirky cast of new friends, and guide Carto on her journey home.

While solving puzzles and exploring seems to be the main hook of the game, players will love the fantastic hand-drawn visuals that give the world this great feel. The game also boasts its soundtrack for a fun, relaxed time exploring the animated wilds of Carto.

Players can explore different biomes throughout the game as they run into different people and try to solve tasks for each of them—all in the quest to come home.

While maps are usually a tool for better navigating the game, it’s fascinating to actually have one where the map is the game. Hopefully this makes for a fun look into the science of cartography.

Carto is now available for pre-order and will be playable for PS4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC on Oct. 27.

As October continues to trudge along, we get closer and closer to the release of the PlayStation 5. After a look into the hardware elements of the console, Sony has decided to give us a look at the user experience for the PS5, showing off the user interface and features of the system.

Finally - here’s a sneak peek at the PlayStation 5’s user experience! Watch our new video walkthrough to see new features designed to make your gaming experiences more fun, engaging, personalized and social on the PS5 console.

Take not that this isn’t a walkthrough of the final product, and we could still expect some changes when the PS5 finally comes out. Nevertheless, it looks like an overview of all the main features, from the ‘cards’ to the new PS Store that won’t be an app in the system, but part of the system itself.

There has also been some improvements done when it comes to socializing with the console. It’s now easier to share screens with friends, and you can watch what your friend is playing while you’re busy with your own game.

Chatting has also become simpler as the controller is able to convert speech into text.

There’s actually more to look into when it comes to the PlayStation 5, but it looks like Sony only had the 11 minutes to spare. Hopefully we get more extensive looks before the release. Let’s also not forget Xbox is yet to give us a look-see at their console interface.

The PlayStation 5 is set to launch on Nov. 12. Check out all the next-generation games in our updated list of Upcoming PlayStation 5 Games.

Besides the launches of the PS5 and Xbox Series X, this November will see the release of a lot of highly-anticipated games. Other than Spider-Man: Miles Morales, people are looking to the release of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and just in, Ubisoft has dropped a trailer that takes a deep dive into the game.

Watch this:

Learn everything you need to know about Assassin’s Creed Valhalla in the Deep Dive Trailer! Explore how to grow your settlement, customize your Viking, and even journey to new worlds as you expand your clan’s influence throughout England…and beyond.

Valhalla is going to take the series a step further, allowing players to actually grow their own village from the spoils of their conquest. The game also shows us that there will be a number of kingdoms to conquer, and you can even take a trip to Asgard at some point.

Valhalla will also allow you to pick between two versions of the protagonist Eivor; and if you’re not ready to commit to any one gender, you can actually switch anytime you want in-game. Not to mention there are a ton of mini-games and other things to fool around with.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is set to come out on Nov. 10 and will be available for Xbox Series X, Xbox One, PS4, PC, and PS5.

While a lot of people were hoping for the announcement of a Spider-Man PS4 sequel, Insomniac Games has decided to go an unexpected direction by announcing a spinoff with Miles Morales. Now Spider-Man: Miles Morales is looking to launch alongside the PlayStation 5, and we have a new clip from the game showing off the first boss battle.

This one comes from Game Informer:

While we know that the main villain of the game is set to be the Tinkerer, it’s good to have confirmation that Miles Morales will be using some of the villains from the first game. It would make sense that Miles would fight Rhino now with powers, seeing as you had to sneak around him as Miles the first time you meet the villain in Spider-Man PS4.

We don’t know which other villains could make an appearance in the game, but hopefully Miles has his own gallery of rogues too. Besides Tinkerer, we may be meeting the Prowler as well, seeing as he has a connection with Miles’ origin. Then again, things could change depending on how Insomniac wants this story to go.

In the latest adventure in the Marvel’s Spider-Man universe, teenager Miles Morales is adjusting to his new home while following in the footsteps of his mentor, Peter Parker, as a new Spider-Man. But when a fierce power struggle threatens to destroy his new home, the aspiring hero realizes that with great power, there must also come great responsibility. To save all of Marvel’s New York, Miles must take up the mantle of Spider-Man and own it.

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is currently in gear for its second season, and though the game has a lot of great cosmetics already, Mediatonic has revealed that they will be releasing a skin that is based on one of the most popular gaming franchises out there.

During a livestream with SEGA (via GameSpot), it has been revealed that a Sonic skin will come to the game to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Sonic the Hedgehog. The skin is set to hit the Fall Guys store this week, with each part costing 5 crowns—meaning you’ll have to collect a total of 10 crowns in order to fully dress up as Sonic.

It’s interesting that Fall Guys would be open to cross-promotion because there’s so much potential with these mascots moving forward. Sure we have Sonic today, but down the line, players would go nuts over skins based on Pokemon or Animal Crossing. Heck, maybe they could even make skins for other ‘non-cute’ franchises like God of War or Horizon Zero Dawn. Everyone loves cute versions of beloved characters—the success of Funko POP! toys can attest to that.

Fall Guys is a massively multiplayer party game with up to 60 players online in a free-for-all struggle through round after round of escalating chaos until one victor remains!

The Sonic the Hedgehog skin will be available on Oct. 14. Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is now available for PC and PS4.

After the Summer Games events, Blizzard is now gearing up for another Halloween Terror event later in the week. While we don’t have a full trailer giving us a look at the limited edition cosmetics yet, we do have a short teaser giving us a glimpse of what to expect.

Check them out:

We don’t have an official name for all the skins yet, but we do know that D. Va’s new Legendary skin is called Shin-Ryeong D. Va. Looking at the rest, Sigma looks to be a ghost pirate, and Winston looks to have a new werewolf skin.

There also looks to be some Epic skins for Sombra, Brigitte, and Echo, but so far, I can only determine that Echo is supposed to be a rag-doll a la Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas.

This is also not confirmed, but the short shot of Ashe may be part of a new highlight intro.

Hopefully we get more than what we just saw in the short 15 seconds. It would be great if we still had more skins, emotes, and highlight intros incoming. Besides that, it’s also great that we’ll get a chance to win skins from past events with their prices now a more attainable 1000 credits.

A lot of people are gearing up to buy their next-gen consoles for November, and so far it seems that the Xbox Series X has been winning when it comes to hardware. Just in, PlayStation has dropped an official teardown video giving us an inner look at the components of the PlayStation 5.

Check it out [turn on captions]:

Your first look at PS5's internal components* that will power the next generation of amazing games.

*Do not try this at home. Risk of exposure to laser radiation, electric shock, or other injury. Disassembling your PS5 console will invalidate your manufacturer’s guarantee.

From the get-go, you can really see just how massive of a console the PS5 is. When Ootori holds it up next to himself, it’s almost as large as his torso. The stand is also kind of elegant, as it has a neat storage system and will also help in displaying the console horizontally.

One feature that’s also pretty neat is that the console has a dust collector where you can insert your vacuum to clean the PS5. I have a feeling the detachable shell is also going to allow for easier ways to customize the look of the console—like a large, fancy phone.

Admittedly, I still think that the design of the Xbox Series X|S is more elegant, but the PlayStation is still in possession of some great exclusives. I guess we’ll just have to wait after November to see the fallout of the console wars.

The PlayStation 5 launches on Nov. 12. Check out all the games slated for release on the console in our Upcoming PS5 Games list.
