In a dark and alternate 18th century, the gates of Hell have opened, unleashing demons and other supernatural creatures upon the world. Humanity is on the brink of extinction, and only a few brave souls stand against the forces of darkness. Players take control of a team of Hunters who must use their skills, weapons, and magic to fight back against the forces of evil.

Hexxen: Hunters' main gameplay consists of two main modes. These are real-time exploration and turn-based combat. In exploration mode, players can roam the world map, discover locations, encounter enemies, and go on quests.

In combat mode, players can use their Hunters' abilities and items to defeat enemies in tactical battles to reap rewards. The game also has a dynamic difficulty system that adapts to the player's performance and choices.

This tactical RPG features a roster of eight unique Hunters, each with their own bespoke equipment, branching skill trees, and countless team synergies. This allows players to experiment with different team compositions and strategies to find what works best for them.

The game also features a central hub space that offers utility and meta-progression. Players can return to the hub to upgrade their equipment, purchase new items, and take on side quests. The hub will also evolve as the game progresses, giving players more tools in the war against Hell.

Hooded Horse plans to release an <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/genre/early-access/" title="Early access PC Games List">Early Access</a> version of Hexxen: Hunters in 2024.

Hooded Horse and Ulisses Spiele will also showcase the game at their booth at Gamescom 2023. Visitors can try out demos, get goodie bags, and learn more about the game and other titles from the publisher.

Netmarble announced that its plans to launch new titles during the second half of 2023 would push through. A press statement stated they will roll out at least six new games globally. They will also introduce three titles to Mainland China.

According to a press release, Netmarble confirmed it will launch at least six new games globally and three titles in Mainland China in the second half of 2023.

The announcement came days after its recent regulatory filing showed that it remained in the red for the second quarter of this year.

Its CEO, Young-sig Kwon, attributed the losses to sluggish sales of its existing titles and the absence of new games from January to June.

<q>We look forward to launching new titles in the second half of the year… despite performance being affected by an absence of new games and revenue decrease of existing titles in the first half,</q> said Kwon.

Some games slated for a worldwide release this year included <a href="https://whatoplay.com/android/king-arthur-legends-rise/" title="King Arthur: Legends Rise on Android">King Arthur: Legends Rise</a> and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/paragon-the-overprime/" title="Paragon: The Overprime on PC">Paragon: The Overprime</a>.

Meanwhile, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/android/ni-no-kuni-cross-worlds/" title="Ni no Nuni: Cross Worlds on Android">Ni no Nuni: Cross Worlds</a> and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/the-seven-deadly-sins-origin/" title="The Seven Deadly Sins on Android">The Seven Deadly Sins</a> will welcome players in Mainland China soon.

Netmarble's financial report for the second quarter reported a slight increase in revenue. They generated $465.98 million in revenue, up by 0.1 percent compared to the first quarter. Their EBITDA also stood at $8.38 million. EBITDA stands for "earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization."

But Netmarble also posted a significant decline in earnings and profitability. Their EBITDA for the second quarter of 2023 was a 46.3 percent decrease compared to the first quarter.

They also reported an operating loss of $28.76 million and a net loss of $34.04 million for the second quarter of 2023.
Overseas markets remained their major revenue drivers, accounting for 86 percent of their total sales. North America was the most significant contributor, with a 52 percent share. It was followed by Korea, Europe, Southeast Asia, Japan, and other regions.

<a href="https://whatoplay.com/android/marvel-contest-of-champions/" title="MARVEL Contest of Champions on Android">MARVEL Contest of Champions</a> is still its top-performing title as of June. With the launch of new games, Netmarble expected an improvement in its financial performance in the second half of the year.

Netmarble's Late 2023 Game Plan: Banking on New Releases

<a href="https://tingbits.com/game/derby-stars" title="Derby Stars">Derby Stars</a>, the first triple AAA, play-to-earn (P2E) game built on the Polygon blockchain, plans to expand and welcome more players.

Developers behind the web3 horse-racing title announced it will hit mobile devices within the fourth quarter of 2023. In turn, players can expect a "seamless and inclusive" experience of the metaverse game, they added.

Derby Stars launched its full version on August 7, with positive reviews from critics and players. Aside from a mobile version, its creators will roll out new content and events. These included a "welcome gift box" for players joining the game.

<div class="video-responsive">
	<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/glOl7dhcAVA" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Developers also confirmed that work had been underway for Derby Stars' first seasonal event. In it, players can compete for special prizes and trophies.

<q>We're very proud and excited to unveil the much-anticipated game to the public after two years of development,</q> said Sean Hehm, Executive Director at Derby Stars.

<q>However, the team still lies awake every night with thousands of ideas sparkling in their minds,</q> he added.

Horse racing lies at the core of Derby Stars. In the game, players can breed, grow, build, and trade their horses in a web3 world. They can also participate in seasonal races and earn real money and tokens.

Derby Stars has also introduced a new way to attract players to P2E games. It offered gamers a free-to-play option through its rental system. Players can rent horses from other users or lend their own horses to earn passive income.

<q>This creates a win-win situation for both new and experienced players, as well as a vibrant and inclusive community,"</q> the developers explained.

Before the official launch, developers listed Derby Stars' governance token, $DSRUN, via an initial DEX offering (IDO) on the cryptocurrency exchange platform Bybit.

Derby Stars is available for <a href="https://derbystars.com/download?step=download" rel="nofollow">download on their official website</a>.

<q>I'm very happy to announce that Forgotten Mines will be published by Ishtar Games!</q> the studio wrote on its Steam page.

Ishtar Games is the publishing arm for independently developed games of the French video game company <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/nacon/" title="Nacon">Nacon</a>. Based in Lille and Bordeaux, France, the studio has previously made the "Dead in" games (<a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/dead-in-bermuda/" title="Dead in Bermuda on PC">Dead in Bermuda</a>, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/dead-in-vinland/" title="Dead in Vinland on PC">Dead in Vinland</a>) and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/the-last-spell/" title="The Last Spell on PC">The Last Spell</a>.

Cannibal Goose has also announced that Forgotten Mines will be released on PC via Steam in the first quarter of 2024.

Forgotten Mines is a tactical RPG with "nostalgic, old school graphics" that combines <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/best/roguelite/" title="Best Roguelite PC Games">roguelite</a> elements and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/best/turn-based-rpg/" title="Best Turn-based RPG PC Games">turn-based</a> combat. In the game, players take control of a group of dwarves who must reclaim their ancestral mines from the forces of evil.

The mines, once a source of wealth and glory for the dwarven realm, have been overrun by goblins, orcs, skeletons, and demons. Players must use their tactical skills and turn-based combat abilities to defeat enemies and reclaim the mines.

The dwarves must forge a path of vengeance and redemption and restore their heritage, the developers described.

Forgotten Mines also allows players to explore its procedurally-generated dungeons. This means each room of the dungeon is randomly generated, and the player has a limited number of turns to complete each level.

The game offers customization options; players can expect diverse character classes and vast equipment options. They can also obtain rare gear and legendary artifacts that grant powerful synergies and abilities.

Cannibal Goose first unveiled the development of Forgotten Mines in 2022. Its latest trailer showcased the game's visuals, gameplay, and atmosphere.
