A week ahead of the Steam Next Fest exhibition, publisher Panic Inc has announced the release of the free demo of Arco, a colorful turn-based RPG. The demo is currently available for download on Steam.
The demo for Arco will include the tutorial for the turn-based RPG and a glimpse of the game’s campaign. Players will get to play as Itzae, one of four playable characters available in the full release.
The demo will also include the Arena mode. According to developers, players will be able to customize their characters and experiment with the combat system.
As a tactical action game, Arco uses ’simultaneous turn-based combat,’ a unique form of turn-based combat where players and enemies move at the same time. However, the pauses between the action scenes allow players to plan their moves ahead.
In Arco, player choices will play an integral part of the action. By choosing certain dialog branches, players can accumulate ‘guilt levels.’ Once players hit high levels of guilt, creatures called ‘demons’ can haunt the players by appearing during battle and causing damage.
Aside from Arco, Steam will exhibit a host of indie titles for this year's Next Fest which will take place from Feb 5 to Feb 12. The announced games include Airhead, Always In Mind, Vellum and Maki: Paw of Fury.
Arco is set to release on PC (Steam, Epic Games) later this year.
