Two classic dungeon crawlers Class Of Heroes: Anniversary Edition and Class Of Heroes 2G: Remastered Edition are available now.

This 2008 PSP classic isn't new to the Switch. An enhanced remake was also released on the Switch in 2018. However, this Complete Edition will mark the first time a Class of Heroes game gets ported to PC.

Particus and Crostini Academy await players in this modern port.

Players form their own merry band of heroes in this grand adventure. They can choose from different races and courses that fit their playstyle. The goal is to overcome challenging turn-based dungeons with the aid of the academy mentors.

Tactics is key. Only by increasing student affinities can the team shine. A good party composition can be a achieved by paying attention to different class-alignment affinities.

Class Of Heroes: Anniversary edition retains the essence of the original. This Remake has over 75 dungeons to explore and each provides their own set of difficulty.

Resource management is an essential strategy to get the most loot. Sort the priceless treasures from the worthless trash from the dungeon haul.

Weapon customization is also an important aspect. Customize the attributes of weapons to turn the party into an unstoppable force.

Class Of Heroes 2 also receives the Remastered treatment. In Class Of Heroes 2G, there are three different schools to choose from. Each having their own host of interesting characters and courses.

A huge improvement from the first game, 2G features countless combinations. There are 10 different classes, 18 different courses, and 3 different alignments.

The increase of its dungeon variety adds more replay value than ever before. There are many enemies to face each with its own gimmick. Players can sink hours into over 100 dungeons.

Into the Emberlands: Charming Exploration Game Set for Summer Release

Keylocker, an upcoming JRPG that blends turn-based combat and rhythm, is set to launch soon.

This is after its creators finally revealed the game's release window during the recent ID@Xbox Digital Showcase. Publisher Serenity Forge and Moonana Games announced they will release Keylocker this Summer.

In addition, developers from Moonana Games said they will be porting the title to Xbox consoles. The upcoming Xbox edition will also come out simultaneously with its PC launch.

"We got to announce this news today at an ID@Xbox event which is pretty big for us, this event is quite eventful, after all," they wrote on the game's official Steam page.

Creators described Keylocker as a 'groundbreaking turn-based rhythm JRPG'. Illustrated in a pixel-art style, it transports players to a cyberpunk world.

The game takes place in a dystopian metropolis called Saturn. There, players take on the shoes of the protagonist named BOBO. In Saturn, music has been suppressed by a tyrannical regime. A fearless singer and songwriter, BOBO then takes on a quest to bring music back to life in Saturn.

"With every piece in place, she's out to break some laws, and discover the truth behind the essence of music, the Keylocker," developers said.

The core gameplay of Keylocker involved real-time rhythm mechanics and turn-based combat. This means players must strategically execute moves in a rhythm game style. As BOBO, they need to harness the power of music to defeat foes.

Keylocker also drew inspiration from legendary JRPGS such as the Mario & Luigi RPG series and Chrono Trigger. The game will allow players to explore Saturn's sprawling cities, forge alliances, uncover secrets, and challenge the status quo.

Meanwhile, Moonana Games said they are putting the finishing touches on the game.
"We’ll have more about the game’s launch to share in the near future," they said. / ###

Publisher Fellow Traveller have announced that indie adventure game, Pine: A Story Of Loss, will launch late 2024 on Nintendo Switch, PC and mobile devices.

Pine immerses the player in the woodworker’s world with environmental storytelling, ambient soundscapes, and an original musical score.

In Pine, players follow the tale of a woodworker grieving the recent passing of his wife. This tale evokes a poignant and reflective story told through wordless vignettes.

Live through his daily life as he tends to his garden or collecting wood for the next winter. Throughout his everyday chores, the memories of her late wife linger. In a desperate attempt not to forget their happy memories, the woodworker captures it by wood carving.

“The woodworker’s first inception was in a sketch created by Booth following a tragic loss, which sparked an outpouring of support from fans who resonated with the powerful depiction of grief,” the developers said.

Pine is created by Made Up Games, led by professional illustrator and children’s book author Tom Booth. Together with programmer Najati Imam, they transformed it into Pine, an emotional and interactive experience that serves as a reminder that no one is alone in their loss.

The light gameplay elements do not involve too much button pressing. These min-games are small interactive setpieces that emanate a feeling of longing.

Pine's emotional storytelling and simple gameplay elements is similar to popular games like Behind The Frame or Florence, two of the top games on iOS.

The game also features stunning environments inspired by works such as the likes of N.C Wyeth. These complement the game’s bittersweet tone.

It is a game that focuses on telling a story instead of dragging it with unnecessary fluff. With its short playtime, players can finish the game in one sitting if they choose.

During launching, the game's Switch edition suffered multiple bugs and other technical errors. Switch players complained of frame rate drops, long loading times, and soft locks. Some also reported the game being forced to restart when encountering these issues.

These prompted 505 Games to roll out version 1.0.3 for the Nintendo version. They also vowed to address them 'as maximum priority.'

"We are aware of issues surrounding the current version of Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes on the Nintendo Switch and we’re addressing them as a maximum priority," stated 505 Games.

Developers are also in the middle of creating another patch to further resolve other glitches in the game. The release date for the latest patch has yet to be announced. But 505 Games promised to deliver it 'the earliest possible opportunity.'

Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes served as the successor to the classic Suikoden series. It was conceptualized by legendary game developers Junko Kawano and the late Yoshitaka Murayama. During its development, it became the No. 1 Kickstarter Game of 2020.

“Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes is a fitting and triumphant legacy to Murayama-san’s memory," said 505 President, Neil Ralley. / ###

Still Wakes The Deep was developed by The Chinese Room. The same studio was behind other acclaimed stories like Dear Esther, Everybody’s Gone To The Rapture and Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs.

The game takes place in an off-shore oil rig in Scotland. Players take on the shoes of Caz McLeary, a worker trapped in this isolated facility in 1975. According to the developers, it takes inspiration from iconic science fiction horror stories like John Carpenter’s The Thing and Jeff Vandermeer’s The Southern Reach Trilogy.

In the wake of a catastrophic event, players find themselves at the mercy of a mysterious monster. Tension looms large in every moment as this otherworldly threat pursues players at random. Players can piece together the story by following linear paths or by collecting lore.

There is no combat in Still Wakes The Deep. Like Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs, stealth is paramount to survival. Players can avoid encounters at all costs by running, climbing and jumping around the claustrophobic hallways.

Players must also fight for their lives through a storm. The light environmental puzzles will serve as the gameplay loop. With all lines of communications severed, players must rely on their wits to make it out alive.

Aside from its physical release on PS5, Still Wakes The Deep will roll out on Xbox Series X/S and PC via Game Pass at launch.
