<a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/funko-fusion/">Funko Fusion</a>, like its collection of physical toys, features nods to pop culture classics like <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/jurassic-world-evolution-2-prehistoric-marine-species-pack/">Jurassic World</a>, Back to the Future, The Umbrella Academy, Masters of the Universe, and more. Characters such as <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/mega-man-legacy-collection/">Mega Man</a>, Freddy Fazbear (<a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/five-nights-at-freddys/">Five Nights at Freddy’s</a>), and He-Man come together to battle against Eddy Funko in a bid to stop his dreams of total domination.

Built for kids and kids at heart, the game takes players to explore their favorite iconic worlds via the Wonder Works Factory. Once outside, they embark on a journey packed with puzzles, battles, and fan-favorite characters from popular franchises.

It was released a few days ago but the feedback has been less than stellar, with reviewers like CGMagazine calling it ‘an ultimately boring’ title. It received subpar scores of 6’s and 7’s. Even IGN gave it a staggeringly low score of 4, stating that ‘[it] contains precious little in the way of interesting new ideas.’

Ultimately, the game received a playscore of 6.8 on PlayStation 5, with the PC version receiving a 6.5 gamerscore from other players.

Despite its middling reviews, Funko Fusion has enough charm to lure in kids that enjoy these franchises coming together. Twinfinite scored a 7 on their review saying that ‘there’s enough charm here that even if you’re tangentially invested, you’ll have a good time.’

Anyone can still try out the game before purchasing to make their own informed decision. A PC demo is still available on Steam, offering a sneak peek into levels inspired by the 1982 horror classic The Thing.

Funko Fusion is available digitally for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam, with physical console editions also on sale. A PlayStation 4 version will be released on November 15, with a Nintendo Switch edition launching digitally in December and physically in March 2025.

Funko Fusion Launches with Middling Reviews Across Platforms

One of the most anticipated indie, souls-like titles this year came out earlier than expected

Indie developer Jyamma Games on September 16 launched <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/enotria-the-last-song/">Enotria: The Last Song</a> for PC via <a href="https://store.steampowered.com/app/2102450/Enotria_The_Last_Song/">Steam</a>. On the same day, they also rolled out the game's Early Access for PlayStation 5 (PS5).

The Milan-based studio said they moved up the PC release date by two days to coincide with the PS5 launch. The decision served as a gesture of appreciation for the game's dedicated PC community. In addition, this will allow PC players the same amount of time as those who pre-ordered for Early Access on PS5.

To recall, devs initially planned to release Enotria: The Last Song last June 21. But they pushed it back to avoid getting overshadowed by the launch of <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/elden-ring-shadow-of-the-erdtree/">Shadow of the ErdTree</a>, the lastest Elden Ring expansion pack and currently one of the <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps5/best/">best games on PS5</a> and PS4.

Enotria: The Last Song is a souls-like RPG set in an Italian-inspired world. There, a mysterious force known as the Canovaccio has trapped the world in a perpetual, unnatural state. Players become the Maskless One, the only person who holds the key to break the spell.

Then they set on a quest to defeat tyrannical Authors who created the Canovaccio. At the same time, they must also harness the energy of Ardore to free the world from its 'stagnant existence.'

The game features intense combat and a unique mask system that grants new abilities.

During battles, players can choose from the 30 distinct Masks. Each has its own unique strengths and weaknesses. The game also contains 120 weapons, 45 spells, and 8 parry modifiers.

Enotria: The Last Song also has a feature called the Path of Innovators. It lets players customize their playstyle through unlockable skills. In addition, they can also explore a vast, interconnected world, solve puzzles, and encounter bosses.

Analgesic Productions, creators behind the acclaimed <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/anodyne/">Anodyne</a> series, announced a new trailer for their upcoming game Danchi Days. It is a cute and cozy <a href="https://whatoplay.com/android/best/adventure/">adventure</a> that invites players to relive the magic of a Japanese summer festival during the year 2000, or Y2K.

Players step into the shoes of Hoshino who is determined to revive the once-thriving summer festival in a danchi, a Japanese housing complex. Like the good ol’ days of Y2K, players can surf the internet and uncover the quirks and desires of their neighbors.

Hoshino’s goal throughout the game is to invite neighbors to join in on the festival. There are over 151 characters from all walks of life available to recruit.

Along the way, players will also encounter a variety of challenges and heartwarming stories from various NPCs. Which means that while some festival-goers may readily accept the invitation, others will need a little encouragement.

As Hoshino, you have heightened ‘senses’ that will prove useful in observing their surroundings and finding hidden details to know more about other characters.

Danchi Days oozes nostalgia with its stylistic retro charm thanks to the artwork from independent illustrator <a href="https://www.instagram.com/mogumu_/">mogumu</a>.

<img src="https://cdn2.whatoplay.com/news/danchidays.jpg" alt="Danchi Days screenshot">

Danchi Days draws inspiration from beloved titles like Hamtaro, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/earthbound/">EarthBound</a>, and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/moon/">MOON Remix RPG</a>. It promises to be a delightful journey for fans of Y2K and GBA-era games.

As a result, it exudes an oddly reminiscent period where everyone was playing Nintendo’s Game Boy Advance for the first time.

The game is slated for a 2026 release for Windows/Mac on <a href="https://store.steampowered.com/app/3107530/Danchi_Days?snr=1_7_15__13">Steam</a>, <a href="https://han-tani.itch.io/danchi-game-temporary-title">Itch</a>, <a href="https://www.gog.com/en/">GOG</a>. Creators of <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/remnant-2/">Remnant II</a> are preparing to close the chapter on the popular <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps5/best/third-person-shooter/">third-person shooter</a>.

Arc Games and Gunfire Games announced on September 10th the release date of the final downloadable content (DLC) for Remnant II. Titled 'The Dark Horizon', it will launch this September 24.

The upcoming expansion will also arrive alongside a free major content update. And it will introduce a brand-new 'Boss Rush' game mode. Both content updates will roll out simultaneously on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.

'The Dark Horizon' marks the culmination of the Remnant II DLC saga. And it will feature a brand-new storyline.

It takes players back to the world of N'Erud. There, they will discover a mysterious place preserved in time, where alien farmlands had once been tended by a long-gone civilization.

But time corrupts all. Rogue AI and robotic creations emerged as threats while Travelers searched for the secrets of the colossal entity that dominates the skyline.

New features found in 'The Dark Horizon' DLC will include new locations such as dungeons, and new items. Like a new gear, a new Archetype, additional allies, and a new glider traversal system not found in other worlds. Along the way, as they set off to defeat the colossal entity that looms over N'Erud, they will also encounter new threats and enemies, developers said.

Alongside the paid DLC, a free content update will introduce a "Boss Rush" mode. In it, players will go face Remnant II's most formidable bosses. They can choose from solo or cooperative play with fellow "Travelers," and tackle three difficulty options. These are Triple Threat (three bosses), Trial by Fire (seven bosses), or The Gauntlet (all nineteen bosses).

The goal is simple yet incredibly demanding: survive relentless enemy waves and conquer boss fights to earn coveted rewards. This included elusive weapons.

The update also introduces a new system called Prisms. Prisms further refine the fragment system and allow players to level up for additional stat bonuses.

'The Dark Horizon' will carry a price tag of £8.50.

Remnant II Concludes Epic Journey with "The Dark Horizon" DLC

Sony Interactive Entertainment has officially revealed the PlayStation 5 Pro, the latest evolution in its console lineup.

Scheduled for launch on November 7, 2024, it is set to deliver the most visually advanced PlayStation experience to date at a price of $699.99 USD, £699.99 GBP, €799.99 EUR, and ¥119,980 JPY.

The PS5 Pro will feature a 2TB solid-state drive, advanced ray tracing, and AI-driven upscaling, promising gamers superior image clarity and faster performance.

The Pro console will have a set of key features targeted for the most immersive gaming experience. These include a GPU with 67% more compute units and 28% faster memory than the original PS5. This allows for up to 45% faster rendering, ideal for open-world titles like <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/marvels-spider-man-2/">Marvel's Spider-Man 2</a> and CD Projekt Red’s <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/cyberpunk-2077/">Cyberpunk 2077</a>. You can discover more PS5 games through the <a href="whatoplay.com/discover/">Game Finder</a>.

This reveal also marks the console’s new PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, an AI-based technology that sharpens image quality. As a result, this will deliver noise-free graphics on bigger screens, ideal for 4K and 8K settings. Additionally, Wi-Fi 7 compatibility ensures faster connectivity in supported regions.

More importantly, the PlayStation 5 Pro offers a range of AAA titles that will be optimized after its launch. Games like <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/final-fantasy-vii-rebirth/">Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth</a>, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/assassins-creed-shadows/">Assassin’s Creed: Shadows</a>, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/demons-souls/">Demon’s Souls</a>, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/alan-wake-ii/">Alan Wake 2</a>, and more will make good use of the console’s Fidelity and Performance modes. These games will carry a ‘PS5 Pro Enhanced’ label, making them look and play better than ever before.

This announcement did not come with all praises. Many gamers took it to social media platforms like Twitter, YouTube and Facebook to address their concerns on its $700 price tag.

The video presentation even received 78k dislikes apart from its 37k likes. This does not include the outrage over the detachable disk drive and stand that are sold separately.

With all that is said and done, the PlayStation 5 Pro aims to be the strongest console in the market. It will be backwards compatible with PS4 games and existing PS5 accessories, and pre-orders will open on September 26, 2024.
