While we could be stuck in quarantine for another month, fans have been left to find their fun with video games. What’s great is Coffee Stain publishing and East Trigger Games have come out to announce Huntdown, an 80s-inspired shooter set in a sci-fi world.

Set in a bleak dystopian future where sadistic gangs rule and cops fear to tread, only three legendary bounty hunters have the arsenal and killer instincts to take back the city from the corrupt fist of felony.

Inspired by the action movies and pop culture of the 80s with a gritty, violent twist, Huntdown is an old school arcade side scroller for the modern bounty hunter. The slick platformer features hand painted 16-bit pixel art graphics and hand-drawn animations, combined with fluid action-packed 60-FPS gameplay and an epic 80s soundtrack pumping dark wave, industrial synth, hard rock and electro through 20 unique levels.

The game looks fantastic and seeks to be a love letter to the 80s. It’s so cheesy, it’s fantastic; even the names of the bounty hunters sound like they tried to find the corniest names ever. You can pick between the likes of kick-ass assassin Anna Conda, future cop John Sawyer, or robotic killing machine Mow Man.

With all the excitement for the release of Cyberpunk 2077 in September, this game is sure to keep you hyped for the ‘future-world’ while you wait for the release.

Huntdown will be available for Xbox One, PS4, Switch, and PC on May 12.

The Last of Us Part II may have had an indefinite release date for a while, but Naughty Dog is now ready to release the game this coming June. Just in, we now have an idea on the required storage space for the digital download of the game.

According to IGN, The Last of Us Part II will require at least 100GB of free space; which some people were already expecting since the physical copy of the game is going to come with two discs. Even with the 100GB storage free, I’m expecting that you should add a bit more to that, seeing as there will probably be some expansions and DLCs down the line.

It’s been a long wait for fans of The Last of Us, and it’s great to see that the latest delay was only by a few weeks. Recently there’s also been an issue with the leak of some major plot points of the game, so it’s probably best for you to be careful online if you don’t want the experience to be spoiled for you.

Five years after their dangerous journey across the post-pandemic United States, Ellie and Joel have settled down in Jackson, Wyoming. Living amongst a thriving community of survivors has allowed them peace and stability, despite the constant threat of the infected and other, more desperate survivors.

When a violent event disrupts that peace, Ellie embarks on a relentless journey to carry out justice and find closure. As she hunts those responsible one by one, she is confronted with the devastating physical and emotional repercussions of her actions.

Back in 2018, Ubisoft had given us Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, and with Ancient Greece out of the way, the devs are now bringing us to the world of Vikings. Check out the cinematic reveal trailer for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.

Here’s the official description:

Become Eivor, a mighty Viking raider and lead your clan from the harsh shores of Norway to a new home amid the lush farmlands of ninth-century England. Explore a beautiful, mysterious open world where you'll face brutal enemies, raid fortresses, build your clan's new settlement, and forge alliances to win glory and earn a place in Valhalla.

England in the age of the Vikings is a fractured nation of petty lords and warring kingdoms. Beneath the chaos lies a rich and untamed land waiting for a new conqueror. Will it be you?

With the games moving farther from stealth game territory and more into what The Witcher series has become, it looks like we’re going to get what Odyssey had to offer and more. It still looks like an open world where we can clash with enemies in a battlefield, but this time, we’ll be able to build our own villages and headquarters.

It has also been confirmed online that you could pick between a male and female protagonist, plus you can customize everything, even your character’s tattoos. Your spirit animal is also said to be a raven this time, which kind of ties in to the mythic element which will be of Norse origin. It’s also possible that we’ll also get some more naval combat, what with these Viking ships in the mix.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is set for a release this coming holiday season.

Back in 2018, Ubisoft had given us Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, and with Ancient Greece out of the way, the devs are now bringing us to the world of Vikings.

The Crash Bandicoot franchise has been back ever since the successful release of the N. Sane Trilogy and the rebooted Crash Team Racing, and now everyone’s favorite marsupial is setting his eyes on the mobile gaming market.

According to IGN, Crash Bandicoot Mobile has had a ‘soft launch’ and is now available in select regions. The game actually comes from Candy Crush creators King, and looks to be an endless runner game with the titular Crash as the main playable character.

We’ll also get appearances from several other beloved characters in the franchise like Coco, Uka Uka, and Dingodile.

Here’s the official description on the playstore:

A new kind of Crash adventure featuring your favorite characters! Crash & Coco team up to put a stop to Dr Neo Cortex's evil plan to destroy the multiverse!

In this new mobile episode, Dr Neo Cortex has dispatched mutagen henchmen across the multiverse to enslave all dimensions. With the help of his sister Coco, Crash must bash Cortex's minions back to their own dimensions!

Crash Bandicoot has cemented itself as a classic platformer, and it’s kind of a no-brainer that it should find itself as a mobile game in today’s climate. For now, the game is still in a testing phase, and there are a lot of bugs, but once the devs manage to work out the kinks, I can imagine that we’re going to get a big launch trailer soon.

We’ve already gotten a general look at Perfect World and Echtra Games’ upcoming Torchlight title, and Torchlight III promises to give us a lot more options compared to the previous entry. What’s cool is, players will be able to build their own forts, and we have a new look at the system.

With so many options, picking what to put in your fort might be harder than you think! Will you build an estate dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge and camaraderie? Or will you construct an iron fortress made solely to wage war on your enemies? You decide!

It’s said that players will have access to their forts early into the first act of the game. We don’t really know what kind of relevance they’ll hold with gameplay, but I can imagine that it’s going to be a type of headquarters that players can just teleport to mid-game.

For more details on the Fort system, you can just check it out here.

Explore the far reaches of the galaxy with your very own ship. YAGER’s tactical, team-based game is all about space-warfare. As an outlaw captain, fulfill your rewards as you take down enemy ships, travel to new battlefields and befriend other players. Being at the helm of a gigantic spaceship in their cinematic cosmos is already delightful on its own, but the strategy that each fight entails definitely adds to it. Purchase your own fleet of ships, and open your horizons with each upgrade. However, be mindful of its dwindling playerbase. A playscore of 7.66

24. TERA

If anyone wants a taste of a good ol’ MMORPG, TERA is the quickest way to experience it without much of a hassle. For old players, it's the game that they keep coming back for, despite its ups and downs. For amateurs, it’s a unique take on the genre with more player freedom. It’s free and it encourages everyone to grind for that powerful gear. Graphics and gameplay aside, the game is still active, but according to some, it’s now on life-support. A playscore of 7.66

23. Let It Die

Enter the mysterious Tower of Barbs and partake in the ultraviolence that awaits you in over 40 floors of tireless combat. While it feels a little old school in some, Let It Die is an enjoyable combination between Mortal Kombat’s gnarliness and Souls-like combat. Dying in those higher levels might be a little painful for your wallet though, because y’know, microtransactions. Nonetheless, a playscore of 7.69

Scavenger Studios’ own take on the genre places 10 players in a sadistic arena with another player taking control of the world. It’s not just about becoming the last man standing, you have to watch out for traps and bombs from the map masterminds and escape this insane game. These two interactions feel fresh given the state of the BR genre right now. A playscore of 7.75
