Though Spider-Man: Miles Morales is going to be a launch title for the PlayStation 5, it’s also going to release alongside a remaster of the PS4’s Spider-Man. We just got a big update from Insomniac Games about the new edition, and it’s been revealed that the studio has decided to change the face of Peter Parker.

Check this out:

While the internet is currently griping that Sony made the change to make sure the character looked like Tom Holland, the studio has explained that this was done so that Peter would more resemble Spider-Man actor Yuri Lowenthal. Community director James Stevenson writes:

“In order to bring the best performances to players with our next-generation Marvel’s Spider-Man games, we have recast the face of Peter Parker. We loved working with John Bubniak on the original game; however, to get a better match to Peter Parker/Spider-Man actor Yuri Lowenthal’s facial capture, we have cast Ben Jordan to be the face model for Peter Parker on the PS5 console. He looks incredible in-game, and Yuri’s moving performances take on a new life.”

If anything, fans of the first game are not having it and are demanding that Insomniac #BringBackBubniak. Personally, the original face never really sat well with me; I mean, it didn’t even really look like Bubniak. I guess I can understand the frustration of some fans, because to them the PS4 Spider-Man had become the definitive version. Hopefully Insomniac looks at this backlash and makes the original face an unlockable skin.

As an extra, we also have some footage of the game running on 60fps:

And it’s also been revealed that the suit from The Amazing Spider-Man will also be available in the game:

While some may not be happy about the changes, Spider-Man Remastered is still set to come out with Spider-Man: Miles Morales this coming Nov. 12 on the PS5. You may find more games in our updated list of Upcoming PS5 Games.

Spider-Man Remastered Reveals the New Face of Peter Parker

One of the most celebrated games to come out on the Switch this year is Nintendo’s Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and players are all enamored with this latest update on the classic franchise. What’s great is, Animal Crossing has announced their Halloween update for the fall season, and it’s sure to be some spooky fun for players.

For the update, players will be able to prepare for the Halloween season by growing pumpkins that you can customize with your own DIY projects. What’s more, you can collect candy and change costumes, all culminating to Halloween night where you can run into other players who have also geared up for Halloween.

Animal Crossing has also announced their smartphone app called the “NookLink App Update”. Here’s the official description:

The NookLink Service in the Nintendo Switch Online smartphone app is also receiving an update in early October. With the update, you’ll be able to use your smart device to perform Reactions in the game.**** How about trying it out for this occasion to let your island visitors know exactly how you feel about their mischievous tricks and treats?

With Halloween probably being cancelled in some places this year thanks to COVID-19, this is probably the closest thing some people are going to get to it. If anything, it all looks adorable, and it would be fun gearing up for the fall season.

The Fall Update of Animal Crossing: New Horizons comes out on Sept. 30. Play the game now on the Nintendo Switch.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons Announces Fall Halloween Update

With the success of remakes for Final Fantasy VII and Resident Evil, it’s no wonder that developers are looking at their IP bank for classic games to bring to the next generation. What’s interesting is, Konami could be reviving what is considered one of the greatest games for the original PlayStation.

A rumor from RedGamingTech (via ComicBook) suggests that Konami is looking to remake the first Metal Gear Solid for the PlayStation 5. The full remake is said to be a console exclusive; and besides that, it’s said the studio is also looking to supplement Metal Gear Solid with remasters for Metal Gear Solid II: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid III: Snake Eater, and Metal Gear Solid IV: Guns of Patriots.

Should this be true, Hideo Kojima’s entire Metal Gear Solid series would be available to play on the PS5, as Metal Gear V: The Phantom Pain will be playable via backwards compatibility.

Admittedly the Metal Gear Solid series was said to have floundered when Kojima left the studio, and not too many people were pleased with 2018’s Metal Gear Survive. With the remake though, Konami is going to be banking on the nostalgia of several players, but I guess it would also be a cool introduction to the MGS series, seeing as the story has gotten pretty convoluted over the years.

Sadly, we should just take this as a rumor for now, but like I said, remakes have been all the rage recently, and Konami may just as well try to bank on one of their most popular titles.

The PlayStation 5 is set to launch on Nov. 12. Find more games in our updated list of Upcoming PS5 Games.

Konami could be reviving what is considered one of the greatest games for the original PlayStation

RUMOR: Konami to Remake Original Metal Gear Solid for PS5

CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most anticipated games of the year, but Merge Games and Antab Studio are teaming up for another Cyberpunk-based shooter, but this time it’s going to be heavily influenced by the comic aesthetic.

Take a deep dive into the incoming game, Foreclosed:

Foreclosed is a Cyberpunk action-shooter set in a comic book world. Follow the events of Evan Kapnos in this original comic book styled game and discover how losing your identity is all too possible.

I guess you could say that one big difference that this game has from Cyberpunk 2077 is that the player has to follow only one character’s story, and you don’t have to trouble yourself so much on character creation element. Like Cyberpunk though, your character looks to have his own cybernetic enhancements that you can customize to your play style.

If anything else is special about Foreclosed, it’s the comic panel visuals that change as the story moves forward. It’s also kind of corny, but I like how you can read the sound effects when they happen, from the doors closing to every shot you fire with your gun.

While open-world games seem to be all the rage right now with your Red Dead Redemptions and Witcher, I think there’s still something great about games with tight narratives like The Last of Us Part II.

No release date has been set for Foreclosed, but the game is expected to be available in 2021 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Foreclosed is a Comic Book-Inspired Cyberpunk Shooter

We're counting down the months to the end of this not-so-good year with another monthly round-up. There are 105 games scheduled to release this October, but we cut the fat to give you this list of the 10 Most Anticipated Games, arranged by release dates

See more of what's to come with our list of all upcoming games.

1. Afterlight

For fans of PlayDead's atmospheric puzzle platformers, Silent Road Games has something just for you. Instead of dystopias, we get an opportunity to get lost in their beautiful outer space setting in 2.5D. Play as an astronaut stranded after a mission and explore the perils of Titan's terrain. Kickstarter creations have found their way to success many times before, and with the beauty and immersion that it brings, it could easily be one of the platform’s next hits.

Try out their puzzles on the PC on October 2nd

2. Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One

The N. Sane trilogy's enhanced comeback was a marvel for fans of the Crash Bandicoot series but now Vicarious Vision has set out to bring something new to the table with this fresh sequel. Sure enough, it's about time, and amid all their inter-chronological adventures, we'll finally get to play as Coco Bandicoot in our quest to defeat Dr. Cortex. It’s been more than twenty years since the last main Crash Bandicoot title and hopefully, this one lives up to its legacy.

It's set to release on the PS4 and Xbox One this October 2nd

3. Star Wars: Squadrons on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One

The starfighters have always been one of the more iconic emblems of the Star Wars franchise and with EA's latest venture in the franchise, we're gonna get a first-hand look at the action. In Squadrons, you'll get to pilot X-Wings and TIE fighters in thrilling, outer space dogfights. Its main draw seems to be its multiplayer mode that pits players in team-based 5v5 battles. However, Squadrons is also set to bring in a singleplayer campaign set sometime around the Galactic Civil War.

It's scheduled to release on PC, PS4, and Xbox One on October 2nd

4. Foregone on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch

Motion Twin's Dead Cells was a hit for its action-packed Metroidvania action, and now developers Big Blue Bubble has seemingly created a worthy successor to the game's recent legacy. With its detailed pixel artsyle, Foregone's world looks stunning, their bosses terrifying, and the actions and animations, fluid, and satisfying.

Clearly, there's a lot to look forward to here, and we'll get our chance soon as it comes out on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch on October 5

5. RIDE 4 on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One

One of the few good motorcycle games out there has finally come with a new sequel. Milestone has been hitting it big with their games lately, and many are hoping this fourth RIDE installment reaches the same caliber. Introducing a lot of changes to the series, in terms of its career mode plus some brand new modes to boot, it's looking good for the entry so far.

It's set to release on the PC, PS4, and Xbox One on October 8th

6. The Signifier

Sometimes, all it takes is a story and an ominous atmosphere. In The Signifier, we get both as we dive deep into a world of tech-noir mystery that explores the realm of the human mind. We only know so much from a few of their trailers. However, with an array of puzzles surrounding the psychological and philosophical realms of reality, memory, and dreams, it should be a great haven for puzzle fans on the PC looking to immerse in a fascinating story.

It's releasing on October 15

7. Dirt 5 on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One

Codemasters has got to be one of the greatest in racing games, and we're glad to announce that the latest in their outstanding rally racer is coming out soon. In this fifth entry, DIRT moves away from the ultra punishing environment of their previous titles. While their deep simulations are here to stay, we'll still see an entry that will have a more relaxed arcade feel. Their new career modes will feature Nolan North and Troy Baker, and you'll get to share the excitement with friends in the four-player split-screen mode.

A hell of a cross-gen racer, it's coming out on PC, PS4, and Xbox One on October 16

8. Remothered: Broken Porcelain on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch

The sequel to Stormind's 2018 "Tormented Fathers" will arrive next month too. A horror survival game, Broken Porcelain makes us return to the haunted Ashman Inn, this time with all the marvels of their new real-time cutscenes and expanded lore. Pull yourself together amidst all the madness, use your weapons, and find the answers to all the ghastly mysteries of the estate.

Upping the ante with a new level of immersion, the adventure continues on the PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch this October 20

9. Watch Dogs: Legion on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One

The series most ambitious title yet may have had to go through a few bumps on the road to release, but we'll finally get to see the beginning of the massive revolution. Legion promises a more emergent and varied experience in this installment, with all of its London citizens available to be recruited into the resistance. Their last presentation showed us just how much experimenting we can do in the open-world playground. Take London back with guns, drones, stealth, and so much more.

It’s gonna be on PC, PS4, and Xbox One this October 29th

10. The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One

The anthology series from Supermassive Games has a new chapter and it's packed with all the harrowing adventures of their last entries. Still, only on their second installment, Little Hope's story gives us a fresh look with a lineup of new faces to hopefully preserve in the course of a long, choice-based narrative. Dive deep into the mysteries of the remote town and help the 4 college students escape the fog of haunted visions from their past.

It's coming out on PC, PS4, and Xbox One on October 30

Here are our picks for the most anticipated PC and console games set to release this October.

Top 10 Upcoming Games for October 2020

While there were a lot of naysayers when it came to the 2018 God of War reboot, the PS4 exclusive has come out to be one of the best games in the system. Thanks to the PS5 Showcase Event, we finally have a teaser for God of War: Ragnarok.

Check it out:

We don’t really get a good look at the game yet, but we do have some voiceover from Kratos saying, “The time draws near. You must prepare yourself,” then we get a tagline “Ragnarok is coming.”

Besides that, we get the return of the revamped “Omega” symbol with Nordic runes, but this time it’s blue; plus we have that sweet God of War theme from Bear McCreary playing over everything.

While the first game had teased that Kratos would be jumping into other mythologies like Chinese and Egyptian myths, it looks like this sequel is going to stick with the Norse setting. If anything, this could wrap up the whole reveal of Atreus’ true identity, plus we get to see Kratos face off with the most infamous Norse god, Tho
r.

Man, imagine what the fan reaction would be if they killed Kratos off in the middle of the game and have you play as Atreus in search of revenge on Thor?

No specific release date has been set for God of War: Ragnarok, but it’s set to come to the PS5 sometime in 2021. You can find more games in our complete and updated list of Upcoming PS5 Games.

Thanks to the PS5 Showcase Event, we finally have a teaser for God of War: Ragnarok.

God of War: Ragnarok Revealed for 2021

A Harry Potter game had been teased to us back in 2018, but so far we haven’t had any relevant updates besides the mobile Wizarding World games.

Now Portkey Games has dropped the first trailer for Hogwarts Legacy, and it looks to be an open-world adventure for anyone wanting to be a student of the finest school of witchcraft and wizardry.

Experience a new story set at #Hogwarts in the 1800s. Your character is a student who holds the key to an ancient secret that threatens to tear the wizarding world apart. Make allies, battle Dark wizards and decide the fate of the wizarding world.

Since there is already established lore for the Wizarding World around the 1920s and 90s, Hogwarts Legacy has smartly set the time period in the 1800s where players can interact with a more open story.

Not only do you get sorted into houses and attend magic classes, but it also looks like you’re going to be able to pick a moral side, from the good guys to whatever this era’s Death Eaters are called.

Admittedly the Wizarding World franchise has been in a bit of stumble since the last Fantastic Beasts film (and the recent controversy with J.K. Rowling), but Hogwarts Legacy is sure to keep people hyped for the magic world next year. With so much potential for the world, Portkey Games could be looking at their version of The Witcher III.

Hogwarts Legacy is set to come out in 2021 for the Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PS4, PS5, and PC.

Portkey Games has dropped the first trailer for their new open-world adventure, Hogwarts Legacy

Hogwarts Legacy: Return to the Wizarding World in Magical New Trailer

Edgar Wright’s adaptation of Bryan Lee O’Malley’s Scott Pilgrim vs. The World is a cult classic, and so is the tie-in game which also came out in 2010. With the movie hitting its 10th anniversary this year, Ubisoft has decided to drop a trailer for Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game – Complete Edition.

Scott Pilgrim is back! Team up with friends to battle your way through waves of tough enemies to fight for love. Share health and coins, compete in mini-games like Dodgeball, and challenge each other to an epic-last-one-standing duel.

With the complete edition, you’ll get access to DLC which includes characters like Knives Chau and Wallace Wells. While the movie is already a love letter to retro video games, the tie-in game is not any different, what with the pixelated graphics and classic beat-em-up format.

Though the movie is already a decent adaptation of Scott Pilgrim’s story, it admittedly pales in comparison to the events of the manga. Good thing the game looks to be influenced directly by the source material rather than the film. If reading comics isn’t your thing, then maybe playing the Scott Pilgrim game will be the best medium to experience Scott’s journey.

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game - Complete Edition will be available this holiday season for the PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Stadia, and PC.

Just in, we have a colorful new trailer for Immortals Fenyx Rising, and you wouldn't think that Greek Mythology and James Brown would go so well together.

Here’s the official description:

Immortals Fenyx Rising™ brings grand mythological adventure to life. Play as Fenyx, a new winged demigod on a quest to save the Greek gods and their home from a dark curse. Take on mythological beasts, master the legendary powers of the gods and defeat Typhon, the deadliest Titan in Greek mythology, in an epic fight for the ages. The fate of the world is at stake – you are the gods’ last hope.

Originally titled Gods and Monsters, Fenyx Rising is described as a ‘fresh and witty take’ on open world action games and players have the chance to roam freely and customize the lead character Fenyx according to their playstyle.

Besides Fenyx own unique powers, you’ll also get access to infamous weapons in Greek Myth including the Sword of Achilles and the Wings of Daidalos.

With Greek Myth usually being connected with more adult franchises like God of War and Assassin’s Creed, it’s actually kind of refreshing to go into that world with a more animated and adventure-y tone. Here’s a gameplay overview:

Immortals Fenyx Rising is set to come out Dec. 3 for Google Stadia, PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PS4 and PS5.

After the success of the N. Sane Trilogy and Crash Team Racing, Activision is set to continue the Crash Bandicoot franchise with a fourth game subtitled It’s About Time.

We know that there will be multiple playable characters in the game, and we just got the reveal for Crash’s former love interest, Tawna.

Let's play Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time! Developers from Toys For Bob join us for an exciting first look at Tawna gameplay in the upcoming sequel. The redesigned interdimensional Bandicoot comes packed with a host of new tricks and unique spin on platforming and combat.

Just like the upcoming Ratchet & Clank game, It’s About Time will be dealing with alternate universes as well, and this Tawna, rather than being a damsel in distress, is a tough-as-nails revamp of the character.

Besides being taller than Crash and Coco, Tawna also seems to be more brutish in her play style. She also comes with a grappling hook which is probably her main distinction from other characters.

Just in case you’re curious, here’s Tawna in the original Crash timeline:

Besides Tawna, the other two playable characters will be Cortex and Dingodile. While the main story still belongs to Crash and Coco, the extra characters will have their own “timeline” levels which are uniquely designed for them. They’ll also tell their own story which runs parallel to the one the main duo are dealing with.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is set to come out on the PS4 and Xbox One on Oct. 4.
