Miitopia is one of the few upcoming Switch games that held the spotlight last week. With Nintendo opening up the demo for the title, players naturally flocked to test out the game for free.

Nintendo did say we can make all our fantasies come true in Miitopia. Their wide variety of wigs and makeup meant that you can recreate yourself in-game, and cast your friends into Miitopia’s many roles. But what we didn't expect was just how customizable the Miis can be.

Let your imagination run wild, and you can essentially recreate any character EVER. Surely enough, artists went ham on the demo and showed off their best creations online.

All these options are available to players with a Switch online subscription. Not only will you get to share your creations, but you can also borrow from someone more creative. All you need is the access key, and you’ll be able to play as that Mii. Or, get them as the Dark Lord or other roles within the game.

Miitopia was announced in the Nintendo Direct last February. It's a remake of the 3DS party game released in 2016. Since then the Mii’s have been pretty underused and everyone was just happy to get a new way to play them. But, the amazing character creator opens up a world of possibilities for the game and all its players.

Miitopia is set to release on the Switch on May 21. Find more titles coming soon in our updated list of upcoming Switch games.

The next Ratchet & Clank game has been hyped up since before the release of the PS5. With the June release date looming, PlayStation has dropped a new State of Play showcasing Rift Apart.

Check out the most in-depth look yet at Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. You'll see brand-new gameplay with Rivet, deeper looks at some of the new weapons from the out-of-this-world-arsenal, and glimpses at the variety of worlds, characters and gameplay you'll experience in the full game.

While the world of Ratchet & Clank is filled to the brim with cartoonish characters, you can see that Insomniac Games has done their best with the environment. They've made everything as realistic as possible, making good use of the PS5's power. You can see that the screen is just populated with hundreds of ships and people, and you get to transition from one world to another at the drop of a hat.

Though Insomniac has been getting a lot of attention with their Spider-Man games, it looks like they’re jumping in on this resurgence of classic video game mascots. The big question is: when are Jak & Daxter going to make their comeback?

Here’s the official partnership announcement:

Set in a world that’s recovered from an apocalypse and ready for exploring and recivilising, Before We Leave sees players guide a group of surviving ‘Peeps’ as they chart new discoveries and lands.

Other games like Civilization like to lean in on the war side as culture grows. Before We Leave encourages non-violence. You can explore the world and build different settlements in peace. Take note, while war may not be a concern when it comes to this game, there are other things that can keep your ‘Peeps’ from being happy, such as pollution, food, and resources.

Balancing Monkey isn’t the first developer to team up with Team17 either. Just last March, VOID Interactive had announced their partnership with Team17 for the highly anticipated Ready or Not. Creative Director of Balancing Monkey Sam Barhman said about the team-up:

"It's totally awesome that we're getting to work with Team17 to bring our debut game Before We Leave to even more players on Steam next month. We've been working continuously since we launched it last year, adding a ton of new stuff and extra polish. We're proud of what we've been able to achieve to create a more beautiful and immersive experience for our players."

Oddventure revolves around a peculiar teenage girl named Charlie who apparently needs help managing her anger and social awkwardness. Her quest is to find her brother in the land of Luxia populated by fairy tale monsters.

For years, we've been begging for a new title from the Earthbound series. With Nintendo not too interested in the prospect, Oddventure may be the best alternative we have.
