The gameplay focuses on combat, resource gathering, or completing a wide range of different assignments. The players spend most of their time on board of their spaceships, yet the crew is free to engage in spacewalks to scout or engage in necessary repairs. The game contains both single player and multiplayer modes, with the multiplayer sessions being the mainstay of the title.
