- The game successfully brings the feel of the MMO world to the racing genre making for a unique game. The driving itself isn't the best around, especially when you get on a motorcycle. Just the way that an MMORPG can be enjoyable without an amazing combat system, Test Drive Unlimited is fun without the greatest driving experience. With a little more polish, some extra customization options, and an improved driving system, you'd have a racer that could compete with the big dogs.
Erik Brudvig · Apr 03, 2007 Reviewed on PC, X360Read full review - It has issues like terrain that pops into view, odd stutters as the game tries to stream in parts of the island, and an archaic multiplayer interface, but once you get used to it, the consumer in you will push you onward to fill your garage with a stable of ultra-slick vehicles. With a $40 price tag and truly revolutionary design, if you give it a chance you’ll end up hooked. It’s an auspicious rebirth of a classic franchise, but it’s obvious that it could have spent a few more days on the assembly line.
Game Trailers · Sep 18, 2006 Reviewed on X360 - Its faults are there to be seen, and some - like the frame rate and lack of tuning options - could be seen as game breaking faults, but if you're not bothered about the technical side to driving, Test Drive Unlimited is simply wonderful. It's a breath of fresh air to the racing genre and features some of the best online integration to date, meaning it'll remain in your 360's disc drive for quite some time.

The game's open-ended mission design belies its purposeless nature, and the whole massively open online racing thing isn't quite as massive as one might be led to believe. But even with its limitations, Test Drive Unlimited's concept is executed well enough to make it an addictive and interesting racing experience.

Eventually it will get boring depending on your attention span but it’s guaranteed to give you many solid hours of entertainment. There is also the added aspect that the game may eventually be improved upon with more courses, races, cars and so forth. You may wind up getting more out of this game in the future than you did when you first played it. For the money I would say that Test Drive Unlimited is a good gaming investment for racing fans.

It's just that it's up against PGR3, and the thought of how good this would've been with Bizarre behind the steering wheel haunted me throughout. An unfair comment really, since Eden's done bloody well here - but then God always was a bit unfair when it came to Eden.

Malgré quelques soucis techniques et une jouabilité plutôt classique, il s'impose par son originalité et sa manière de combiner courses et notions de MMO. Il s'adresse à tous les publics et peut séduire un amateur d'arcade ou de simulation même s'il penche évidemment davantage du côté du premier nommé.
