  • All in all, The Crew 2 is still a really good game. It’s not the best looking game these days, especially on the Stadia platform, but it sure is a lot of fun. If you are lucky and you have a pretty flawless Stadia experience on a consistent basis, then you should definitely pick up the game. The bottom line, however, is that the racing genre is probably not the best when played on any streaming service.

  • Crew 2 had a lot of potentials to be significant considering the big open world, and nearly every type of racing, but it failed at everything, It’s the worst racing game I have played so far considering the number of issues, it had made me want to say that it’s the worst game of the year so now, but it can be fun at times, if you don’t care about the graphical issues, going from Miami to New York is fantastic in the Crew 2, that’s the only thing I loved doing, and not to forget the microtransactions, they make Crew 2 even worse than it already is.

  • It's hard to ignore the unsavoury taste that comes along with The Crew 2's social media-based progression system. That being said, most people will accept that it's just a somewhat topical stand-in for an experience point system – and skip through all of the awful vlogger posturing and horrid presentation – to find at its heart a knockabout arcade racer with the capacity to make you smile.

  • The Crew 2 is fast, fun and offers a flexible gameplay experience. But, a sense of imbalance throughout the game causes it to be a bit of a rough ride.

  • Overall The Crew 2 has been set up for some big improvements to the series and the developer has done a lot to make it fun for everyone. There are lots of missions to unlock, as well as the ability to expand your vehicle library with the money you make in-game from races. You will lose yourself in this game.

  • Sure, I can fly a plane as high as I can then drop from the sky as a car and continue my path to nothingness but the fun of that can only last so long. I wanted The Crew 2 to be the new pillar for arcade-style racers. Instead, we are presented with a missed opportunity.

  • As I played The Crew 2, desperate for something to latch on to, some element of the caRPG to care about somewhat, no matter how little, I idly considered checking out one of the latest Forza Horizons. It’s quite the game that makes me consider moseying onto the Microsoft Store. I didn’t, of course. I just reinstalled The Crew and marvelled all over again what a great caRPG Ubisoft has made.

Is The Crew 2 an improvement on the original? Without a doubt, yes. Should Forza Horizon be worried? Nope. The improvements made to this sequel and its unique take on racing are let down by lack of improvements where it counts, and some design choices that left me scratching my head. Thankfully, Ubisoft have really set their stall out when it comes to supporting their games over long periods of time, so there may still be some hope. If you are looking for something to tide you over while you wait for Forza Horizon 4, sure you do worse than pick this game up. But I would recommend waiting on a price cut first.

  • The Crew 2 is an impressively large game with a lot to do. Cars, planes and boats, travelling the USA is fun. The problem is that almost everything else ends up feeling the same and, eventually, boring.

  • While it’s disappointing to see The Crew 2 fall into some of the same pitfalls as its predecessor, its open world remains one of the most impressive playgrounds, in terms of scale, out there. Sure, there’s very little reason to explore its vast road networks outside of its visual appeal, but the sheer variety of different events, from nerve racking aerial races to coast-to-coast endurance runs, will still get your heart racing.
