- Kirby’s Blowout Blast leans back upon the series’ roots for its gameplay, which could be seen as both a positive and a hindrance. The game has solid controls, is beautiful and easy to pick up, play, and replay.
Tim Latshaw · Jul 18, 2017 Reviewed on 3DSRead full review - Slightly above average or simply inoffensive. Fans of the genre should enjoy it a bit, but a fair few will be left unfulfilled.
Chris Carter · Jul 06, 2017 Reviewed on 3DSRead full review - Just like its star, Kirby's Blowout Blast is bright and fun, if a little lacking in substance.
Jon Mundy · Sep 12, 2017 Reviewed on 3DSRead full review - I understand why this game is easy as it is aimed at children, however there are a lot of other Kirby entries like the Adventure series and Epic Yarn which were still fun and interesting despite not being difficult. There is so much that could have been done to give this game some more depth.
Elliott Gill · Aug 10, 2017 Reviewed on 3DS - In a time of games that stretch into the tens of hours, it’s nice to have a game full of short gameplay bursts designed to be replayed over and over, Blowout Blast is a wonderful little distraction.
Nick Gillham · Jul 17, 2017 Reviewed on 3DSRead full review - For around £6.29 or your regional equivalent, Kirby’s Blowout Blast is a surprisingly packed game for the price. Sure it won’t take long to blitz through the five worlds that first time, but the real appeal is in trying to get as high a score as possible and achieve those ranks. If you’re just looking for a short game that’s fun with a slightly novel concept for the platform, then Kirby’s Blowout Blast is certainly a better proposition than the free-to-play Team Kirby Clash Deluxe.

Its short stages and score-based focus deliver a highly inviting title with extra replayability that completely captures the heart of Kirby adventures. While the cost is fair, it's sadly far too short and a full version of this would have been very welcomed.

Have a blast inhaling foes and blowing them away in 3D environments across 25 stages. Inhale enough enemies and you can launch one huge Blaster Bullet capable of wiping out a troop of Waddle Dees. Now's your chance to battle iconic bosses like Kracko Jr and King Dedede in 3D!
Inhaling multiple enemies to launch Blaster Bullets is a great way to pump up your score and go for a bronze, silver, or gold star. Another way to score big is to rack up a combo by continuously firing at enemies without missing. Or you could always just collect coins as you jump across platforms. As you progress, you'll unlock EX stages, which provide a tougher challenge to master. Celebrate your victories by tapping a Kirby series amiibo™ figure to build a statue in the plaza that plays new music!
