Παράλληλα, αποτελεί και μια καλή ευκαιρία επιστροφής σε αυτόν τον κόσμο για όσους έπαιξαν το αρχικό παιχνίδι, αφού πλέον δεν υπάρχει ο πονοκέφαλος της δύστροπης κάμερας.

The QoL improvements and new control scheme help with making the game more palatable for modern audiences, although Rebrushed’s tendency to stick to the original’s design choices prevents the game from realizing its full potential. Here’s hoping that Rebrushed serves as a showcase for a potential sequel that fully capitalizes on what the series could be. As it stands, Rebrushed is a good platformer though, albeit not an exceptional one.

De wereld ziet er (ondanks de duistere sfeer) best kleurrijk uit en het is een plezier om op ontdekkingstocht te gaan in de verschillende levels met je verfkwast in de hand. Ook de 2D-levels, die klassieke Disney cartoons op een originele manier tot leven brengen, zijn een hoogtepunt. Toch zitten er barsten onder die (nieuwe) laag verf: de game duurt net iets te lang om van begin tot eind boeiend te blijven én het is spijtig dat het algemene game design je vrijheid limiteert. Ons grootste probleem is toch de hoeveelheid aan bugs, met een game breaking bug als het toppunt van frustratie. Uiteraard is het geen garantie dat ook jij hiervan last zal hebben, maar de kans is er dus wel. En aangezien je geen manuele saves kan maken, is dit een groot risico. Op zich is Epic Mickey: Rebrushed een 7/10 waard, maar een game breaking bug is onvergeeflijk en daarom scoren we de game niet hoger dan een 5.
Simon Verbeke · Oct 04, 2024 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - This “Rebrush” of Epic Mickey paints a successful picture for the iconic mouse, simultaneously celebrating the brilliance of the original game, whilst lifting it up to modern videogame standards in what is a really beautiful remake that is delicious to look at. If you squint, you may find undesirable remnants from its original existence on the Wii, but otherwise Epic Mickey is preserved and improved lovingly here. The reworked controls, revamped visuals, and the numerous ways Purple Lamp have refurbished Epic Mickey shows you the true love the developers have for what they’ve created, and it shines through in just about every way. Platforming can be a tad stodgy at times, and the morality system is a bust, but otherwise this is a real treat for fans of the original game, and an even bigger treat for new audiences, so go and give this gem a shot and you should fall in love with its painterly aesthetic without it wearing thin.

La formula di gioco è ancora godibile grazie alla meccanica del pennello magico. Il lifting grafico operato da Purple Lamp è apprezzabile, così come gli interventi atti a migliorare il pessimo sistema di telecamere del titolo originale. Purtroppo la longevità rimane abbastanza scarsa, anche a causa di attività secondarie non particolarmente stimolanti.

Iako je ovaj Remaster mnogo lepši od originala, samo je uspeo da nas podseti zašto nas je ova igra još 2010. toliko razočarala. Koliko god voleli Mickey Mousea i 3D platforme, možda bi trebali da iskoristimo brisajuće mastilo na ovoj igri.

It doesn't bring a lot of challenge but the new visuals have given plenty of life to the environments, even if they're mostly grim and dark. The control changes feel natural. The backtracking in the middle can slightly dampen the pace but, on the whole, I found the experience to be straight-forward. The presentation shines as a wander through some of Disney's vintage heyday but behind the nostalgia is a competent platformer.
