- A worthwhile retro survival horror experience that utilizes every inch of its three-to-four hour runtime while paying homage to the greats. Even though it's lacking in scares, it manages to enthrall with its excellent brain-scratchers and deft design decisions. A small and successful slice of survival horror.
James Davie · Oct 28, 2024 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - But even with a couple of missteps, I’m still scoring Crow Country highly. The story engrosses, and the puzzles challenge without being too ridiculous. The game is long enough to be rewarding but not so long as to make replay intimidating. And the retro horror may even make you jump a couple of times, in teen-rated fashion. The Snipperclips devs have done considerably good work here, and anyone who predicted otherwise can eat crow.
Trevor Gould · Oct 21, 2024 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Crow Country is a great retro-flavoured survival horror that manages to pay homage to the '90s classics while providing a bunch of modern conveniences that make the game feel fresh and, more importantly, fun. Exploring the creepy yet charming titular amusement park is a joy thanks to its wealth of intriguing secrets and nasty creatures. There are a few annoyances that keep it from being a masterpiece, like the slightly delayed screen transitions and the infuriating traps, but like Signalis before it, Crow Country is well worth investigating if you're after a retro-style horror game that, miraculously, doesn't feel dated right out of the gate.
Ollie Reynolds · Oct 12, 2024 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Crow Country is a sublime, bite-sized homage to survival horror titles of the 90s and early 2000s. We immediately fell in love with the retro visuals and the amazing sound design, but it was actually the puzzles and combat that truly turned this somewhat obscure horror title into an absolute gem. Some minor hitbox issues aside, if you’re a fan of survival horror games, picking this one up is a no-brainer. Even if you’re not a fan of retro games, this one is still very much worth looking into.
Ibuki · Aug 30, 2024 Reviewed on PCRead full review - The aesthetics, densely packed environment and, at times, challenging combat go together to create a really enjoyable survival horror experience that results in Crow Country promising to be a sleeper candidate for my game of the year.
Pedro Herrero · Jun 05, 2024 Reviewed on PCRead full review - More than just its nostalgic visuals, Crow Country is funny, self-aware, and extremely hard to put down.
Vikki Blake · May 29, 2024 Reviewed on PCRead full review - I was surprised that I came away from Crow Country enjoying myself. As I said, I am not a fan of these PS1 graphics games, I lived thru this era and I am ok that we don’t have blocky and shiny graphics again. But Crow Country smartly focuses on the puzzles and its creepy atmosphere, which it absolutely nails both of these aspects. Combat feels like an afterthought by comparison but honesty its not even a problem at the end of the day. If you are nostalgic for survival horror games of yesteryear, then head down to Crow Country.
Terrence Johnson · May 23, 2024 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - With neat retro visuals, smart puzzles, and an interesting theme park location, Crow Country is an appealing survival horror game that suffers a little from clumsy action and minimal challenge.
Ben Thomas · May 17, 2024 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Το Crow Country τελικά αποτελεί μία ιδιαίτερα ευχάριστη indie έκπληξη, που μπορεί να μην έρχεται να ταράξει τα νερά (όπως π.χ.
