  An exceedingly well crafted title that wears its influences proudly on its sleeve, Abathor delivers in all departments. Clever thoughtful design, beautifully detailed pixelart and a killer retro soundtrack that is the cherry on top.

  Un action-platform sulla falsariga di vecchie glorie del passato, che mantiene viva la fiamma di un genere scomparso per quasi due decenni. Abathor non è un titolo perfetto e non inventa nulla di nuovo, ma fa ciò che deve in maniera equilibrata e garbata, forte di una modalità coop divertente e competitiva il giusto, capace da sola di chiamare a raccolta giocatori di tutte le età.

  Los entusiastas de lo retro y, más concretamente, de las aventuras de plataformas y acción de la era de los 16 bits en general, deberían echar un buen vistazo a Abathor. Y es que esta aventura old school posee un buen número de cualidades, comenzando por su exquisito control que posibilita una jugabilidad muy refinada y satisfactoria. Ya sea avanzando en solitario o en compañía de hasta tres amigos más, es posible disfrutar de fases bastante diversas (incluyendo niveles de vagonetas, uno en plan shooter, etc.) bien diseñadas y con un lore de fondo muy atractivo. Un título muy cuidado, dotado un acabado visual muy llamativo y, todavía mejor, de una banda sonora compuesta por más de 40 temas de ilustres compositores como Gryzor87 o Soyo Oka.

  An ode to the arcade hack-'n'-slash genre, Abathor offers an old-school experience, for better and worse. There’s extra novelty in taking the four-player co-op anywhere with an undocked Switch, simple controls mean that four Joy-Con are more than comfortable, and the gorgeous pixel art looks great on the smaller screen. It sounds great, too, and co-op is huge fun with a few couch-based adventurers.

  Lejos de las vertientes metroidvania y roguelite que saturan el mercado en la actualidad, Abathor nos ofrece una propuesta sencilla a la antigua usanza conjugando plataformas y acción con elementos modernos que lo hacen más disfrutable por jugadores más jóvenes. Con una dificultad muy bien medida y algunos aportes en forma de progresiónmás favorable, este título se consagra como uno de los juegos españoles a tener en cuenta durante este 2024.

  Abathor recreates the experience of playing side-scrolling beat ‘em ups in the arcade, with solo and local and online co-op modes available to challenge. With no save points, this is a very challenging experience!
