While zombie games are almost always shooters, 2009’s Zombie Driver gave players a unique way of taking out the dead with weaponized murder cars.

Now, Zombie Driver Immortal Edition has arrived, a remaster which will be available across three generations of PlayStation.

Insane mix of cars, speed, explosions, blood, and zombies! Fight through an epic narrative campaign or test yourself in the Slaughter and Blood Race modes. Engage huge bosses, save survivors, drive crazy vehicles such as a bulldozer, fire truck or even a tank and smash everything in your way. Take part in the Blood Race tournament - chase other cars and take them down without mercy on brutal racing tracks. Jump into the Slaughter mode and survive as long as possible on specially crafted arenas.

If you’ve already purchased Zombie Driver HD for the PS3 through PlayStation Plus, you can actually get this Immortal Edition for free. What’s more, if you buy it now for the PS4, you’ll still be able to access it for the PS5; pretty great counting that it’s only one purchase.

With the zombie genre usually reserved for shooters and platformers, Zombie Driver manages to bring something new (yet familiar) to the table. The gameplay looks closer to those classic retro shooters that you can find in arcades, only this time, you go up against zombies rather than enemy planes or aliens.
