Ever since the acquisition of Lucasfilm by Disney, the video game division of Lucasfilm, LucasArts, had been dissolved with EA taking over the IP. With new Star Wars game titles being planned down the line, Star Wars has officially announced their new game division—Lucasfilm Games.
Watch the sizzle reel:
It’s worth noting that all modern Star Wars titles are showing up in the teaser from main games like Battlefront II and Fallen Order to expansions on games like Sims 4 and Minecraft. Only one game in the teaser hasn't been released yet, and that’s LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga which is set to come out in Spring this year.
After the blunder of EA with the launch of Star Wars Battlefront II, Disney is said to be making sure to take a good look at the gaming side of Star Wars. This new banner could be a result of that. This might mean we will be getting a whole bunch of games moving forward. Even when the movies had ended, fans had LucasArts to thank when it came to keeping the franchise alive.
