Riot Forge has revealed more details and a sneak peek about the upcoming League of Legends (LoL) spin-off Song of Nunu as its launch draws near.
Together with developer Tequila Works, Forge published a brand new trailer for Song of Nunu weeks ahead of its planned release.
Based on the video published on YouTube and Steam, they will roll out the newest title in the LoL universe this Fall 2023. This means players and fans of the hit MOBA game can play it sometime between late September and mid-November.
We are very excited to work with Tequila Works to bring Nunu and Willump's story to life,
said Rowan Parker, Creative Director at Riot Forge.
Song of Nunu: A League of Legends Story is a story-driven, single-player game. It follows the journey of Nunu and Willump in the icy and magical world of Freljord. In it, players guide the duo as they search Freljord for answers on the disappearance of Nunu's mother.
The latest game trailer began with enemies encircling the Nunu.
LoL hero Braum also made a surprise cameo, warning Nunu and Willump about the dangers they will face in Freljor. According to Forge, players can also expect to meet more legendary champions.
Aside from the characters themselves, the video also provided snippets of combat and exploration mechanics in the game.
They are such beloved characters in the League of Legends community, and we wanted to create a game that showcases their bond and their adventure in the Freljord,
added Parker.
Song of Nunu, a game set in the League of Legends universe, was originally scheduled for release in 2022. However, the game's publisher and developers announced that it would be delayed until 2023 due to unspecified reasons.
The game is also expected to hit PCs and consoles, including PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch. More details about the game will be announced soon, including its release date and collector's edition.
We can't wait for all the players to be part of Nunu and Willump's journey as they explore the unforgiving Freljord ... and find the magic in the world, one snowball at a time,
said Raúl Rubio Munárriz, co-founder and CEO of Tequila Works.
