For anyone interested in programming in a fun way, this one's for you.
A new educational game called SirKwitz launched on PC, Google Play, and itch.io on July 23. It aims to help young people and even adults to appreciate and learn programming.
Developed by Predict Edumedia, SirKwitz is more than just a puzzle game.
"Whether you’re young or just young at heart, SirKwitz is here to demystify coding through engaging puzzles and intuitive gameplay," they said. The game takes players on an engaging adventure where they learn basic programming concepts through a series of puzzles.
SirKwitz is set in the fictional world of Dataterra. It introduces players to Kwitz, a microbot from GPU Town, a crucial sector in Dataterra. But a sudden power surge disrupts the town. Kwitz finds himself the only microbot free to navigate the damaged circuits and restore functionality. This sets the stage for players to take control of Kwitz. In turn, they must guide him through challenges that contain core programming concepts.
SirKwitz also features a user-friendly interface that allows players to control Kwitz. It can also translate commands into immediate actions.
The game contains 28 levels of puzzle-solving. At each level, players will encounter fundamental coding principles. These include basic logic, loops, spatial orientation, sequences, and debugging.
Beyond learning programming basics, SirKwitz also aims to foster basic skills for young learners. Players can develop problem-solving abilities, spatial awareness, and critical thinking, developers said. The game also encourages focus, perseverance, and a sense of accomplishment, they added.
SirKwitz is a free-to-play title. It is also available in multiple languages. These include English, Italian, Romanian, Lithuanian, and Russian. Players can download the game on Steam and itch.io for PC, and Google Play for Android devices.
