The developer of an upcoming Saw-inspired game has teamed up with another studio for its creation. Dark Panda announced its collaboration with Equinox Games to create Psycho Fear.
The partnership aims to combine the strengths and expertise of both companies to deliver a next-level gaming experience to players worldwide,
Dark Panda wrote in a press release.
Psycho Fear is a survival-horror game in which players need to escape and survive from the clutches of a psychopath. Both Dark Panda and Equinox Games are based in Canada. Psycho Fear is the former's first major project.
The latter, on the other hand, had previously worked on several major titles. These included Lara Craft Go, Cuphead, and Assassin's Creed: London Gangs, a Canada-exclusive title of the mega-franchise.
According to Dark Panda, their partnership with Equinox will help them achieve their goal of creating a new survival-horror experience.
The decision to join forces stems from a shared vision to revolutionize the gaming landscape and offer fans a truly immersive and unforgettable experience,
they said. Psycho Fear promises to bring a unique and exciting twist to the gaming world,
they added.
Featuring puzzles, deadly obstacles, and horror elements reminiscent of Saw, Psycho Fear will offer single-player and co-op modes. Up to three players can team up to try to escape together.
Dark Panda has been developing Psycho Fear since February 2022. In a teaser video released recently, players get a glimpse of an intense prison escape and the taunts of a chilling villain.
The Montreal-based studio aims to release Psycho Fear within 2Q 2024.
