Playism, the indie game publisher from Japan, is ready to roll out its shooter title Marfusha to consoles next month. Playism and hinyari9, an indie game studio, announced they would release Marfusha for consoles on April 6. They said the game would land on the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One consoles.

To mark Marfusha's latest milestone, its producers have created a brand new animated opening. We are also proud to announce that the console versions will feature a brand new animated opening set to its very own theme song, said Playism.

The publisher confirmed teaming up with Japanese pop star KOKIA for the theme song “I'll Be There.” The theme song, I'll Be There, has been created specifically for this game, Playism added.

Marfusha is pegged as a "high-tempo, side-scroller shooter game." It also incorporates several other elements. These included tower defense, card-based battle, and action roguelike mechanics. Like other titles under Playism, it features a combination of anime and pixel graphics as its art style.

The game follows the titular Marfusha, a young girl who guards a border gate in a fictional, dystopian world. Players take control of Marfusha to protect their territories and reap treasures. Its creators initially targeted porting the game to Nintendo Switch devices last year, according to a blog post from NintendoEverything. However, details about the postponement of its Switch release were not immediately made public.

Marfusha first came out on PC in 2021 and received positive reviews from gamers. Based on over 1,800 reviews from Steam, it currently holds a gamerscore of 9.6.
