Publisher GameMill Entertainment has announced the release date of The Karate Kid: Street Rumble. The latest addition in the hit Karate Kid franchise will land on PC and console devices this September 20, GameMill said.
The Karate Kid: Street Rumble will be a side-scrolling beat 'em-up game. It will also feature retro-style visuals and music. The game will be illustrated in the classic, 16-bit, pixel-art style. It will also have chiptune-style music as its soundtracks.
The Karate Kid: Street Rumble is being developed by Odaclick, a studio based in Argentina. It can be played on PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One.
The Karate Kid: Street Rumble throws players headfirst into the world of Miyagi-Do Karate.
Set in the 1980s, it features the iconic locations from the first three films. From the sun-drenched shores of Topanga Beach to the hallowed halls of the All Valley Tournament. Players and fans can also expect familiar faces in the game. Developers confirmed that playable characters include Daniel Russo, Mr. Miyagi, and Kumiko.
Karate Kid's popular villains like Johnny Lawrence, John Kreese, and Terry Silver are also expected to make an appearance.
Creators also promised to bring a 'fast-paced, side-scrolling beat 'em up adventure' experience for The Karate Kid: Street Rumble. Its gameplay mechanics will have martial arts combat and constant fighting across 12 stages.
The game will also have two modes. Players can battle alongside or against their friends in both solo and four-player local co-op.
In the meantime, GameMill has also dropped a trailer for The Karate Kid: Street Rumble. The video teased more playable characters and foes to come, including the legendary Cobra Kai.
The Karate Kid: Street Rumble will carry a price tag of US $39.99
