Hogwarts Legacy has been delayed. After the announcement last September that we would be getting a Potter-based open-world game in 2021, it looks like Portkey Games has opted to delay the game by a year.
As per the official announcement on the Hogwarts Legacy Twitter page, the game has been delayed to 2022.

After the whole debacle with the release of Cyberpunk 2077, a lot of people are intently looking at AAA games and how they have been released; and the same could be said for Hogwarts Legacy. We could either get games that come out on time at the expense of the developers, or we could have a game that’s been delayed repeatedly but comes out with no problems. Either way, the industry needs to take a long hard look at the process of how games are made and make sure that it’s not at the detriment of the people who provide them.
A 2022 release could be beneficial for Hogwarts Legacy, seeing as it’s close to the release of the next Fantastic Beasts film. While the movies haven’t been that well-received by audiences, it’s sure to bring some great brand synergy when the game and film release around the same time.
Hogwarts Legacy will be available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, and PC.
