Rocksteady may not be working on an Arkham title anymore, but the upcoming Gotham Knights of WB Games Montreal may just be the next best thing. Thanks to DC FanDome, we have a full trailer plus some gameplay footage of one of the most teased games of the year.

Batman is dead. It is now up to the Batman Family - Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood and Robin - to protect Gotham City, bring hope to its citizens, discipline to its cops, and fear to its criminals. You must evolve into the new Dark Knight and save Gotham from chaos.

It looks like the Gotham Knights is going to play out like the Arkham games, only this time, you won’t be controlling Batman but his group of capable protégées.

It’s interesting how they’ve managed to split Batman’s abilities among four characters, and at the same time give each hero—Nightwing, Batgirl, Robin, and Red Hood—some unique abilities of their own. For some reason, I keep getting reminded of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles though.

Besides that, we get a teaser for the game’s much awaited villains, the Court of Owls. Granted we’re still getting some other Bat-baddies, like Mr. Freeze, but a lot of hype has been building up for the Court ever since this game was speculated on years ago.

Step into the Knight when Gotham Knights comes out PC, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PS5 in 2021.
