Asmodee Digital has released a gameplay trailer for their upcoming tactical RPG, Arkham Horror: Mother’s Embrace. The game is based on the Lovecraftian board game from Fantasy Flight, and fans will notice a lot of familiar elements and characters when it comes to the video game.

The year is 1926, and a professor of astronomy is found dead in her mansion, the apparent victim of a heinous murder. Players must pick from 12 of the most iconic protagonists from the Arkham Horror universe, each with a unique skill set, and assemble a team of investigators to uncover the secrets behind this mysterious death.

If you’re familiar with the Arkham Horror board game, you’ll already notice a lot of similar elements when it comes to Mother’s Embrace like searching for clues and keeping a check on your character’s sanity. Though this is based on the popular board game, players are still promised a whole new original story. Not to mention the video game medium allows for a more immersive and visual world filled with monsters and dark cult followers.
