Apple gamers will not have to wait longer to play as Sam Porter Ridges in Death Stranding.
Publisher 505 Games confirmed they will roll out Death Stranding Director’s Cut on select iOS and Mac models this January 30. The game will be priced at US$ 39.99. But special discounts await those who will pre-order the game before its launch.
Death Stranding Director’s Cut can be played on M-powered iPads and Macbooks. iPhone 15 Pro owners can also download the game natively on their phones, thanks to its A17 Bionic Chip, publishers said.
Death Stranding Director’s Cut will serve as a universal purchase, according to 505 Games. This means that players can access the game across Apple devices with only one purchase.
Aside from upgraded visuals, the game will also contain exclusive content such as a new location - an underground factory. Players can also expect expanded story missions, new delivery assists for Sam, and a stabilizer function.
Death Stranding Director’s Cut was initially scheduled for a release last year. 505 Games, in an earlier Tweet, stated that they needed 'more time' to release the game.
Death Stranding is the latest triple-AAA title ported to Apple devices. Recently, Capcom also decided to publish Resident Evil Village and the 2023 remake Resident Evil 4 on Apple. The hit indie game Stray, where players become cats, also got ported to Apple.
To recall, Kojima announced their plans to release the Apple version of Death Stranding Director's Cut during the WWDC 2023. Death Stranding Director's Cut is the upgraded version of the original 2019 game.
Death Stranding's expansion to Apple also serves as one of the tech company's highlights on its venture into gaming with its Silicon devices.
Death Stranding stars Norman Reedus as the protagonist Sam, who works as a deliveryman in a post-apocalyptic United States. Its ensemble cast also included Hollywood stars Mads Mikkelsen, Léa Seydoux, Margaret Qualley, and Lindsay Wagner. / ###
