<a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/gravity-interactive-inc/">Gravity Interactive</a> has released <a href="https://whatoplay.com/android/ragnarok-begins-west/">Ragnarok Begins</a>, the newest cross-platform title in the popular MMORPG series. The California-based game developer and publisher rolled out Ragnarok Begins for PC and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ios/ragnarok-begins-west/">mobile</a> on November 15 (EST).

However, as of the moment, only players in North America can experience its cross-platform functionality. In a press release, Gravity Interactive said that PC players around the world could download the game. But they added that only players from the US and Canada could access its mobile version.

<q>The cross-platform title is available globally for players on PC as well as on mobile for players in North America,</q> they wrote.

Gravity Interactive has yet to announce more details about the game for mobile players outside North America.

Ragnarok Begins happens to be the first side-scrolling game of the Ragnarok franchise. It is also based on the Ragnarok IP.

As a prequel of the series, it will take players to the early ages of Midgard. To be exact, 100 years before the events of Ragnarok Origin. In it, they will find themselves caught in a crossfire between worshippers of Odin and worshippers of Freya.

The game's main storyline involves the disappearance of the Pope of Arunafeltz.

<q>And it's up to players to work together to uncover the secrets and mysteries surrounding the Pope's disappearance as well as what is hidden at the heart of Midgard,</q> developers said.

Like all other titles in the Ragnarok series, the 2.5D <a href="https://whatoplay.com/android/genre/mmorpg/">MMORPG</a> comes in a chibi art style.

Gravity Interactive dropped the first trailer of Ragnarok Begins on YouTube last October. A few days later, they held a closed beta test that lasted seven days.

They revealed the game's launch date last November 5.

God of War: Ragnarok leads race with 10 nominations

The Game Awards 2022 Nominations Revealed

<a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/tactics-ogre-reborn/">Tactics Ogre: Reborn</a>, the reimagined version of the classic <a href="https://whatoplay.com/best/rpg/">RPG</a> hit, has landed on the <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/tactics-ogre-reborn/" title="Tactics Ogre Reborn on PC">PC</a>, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/tactics-ogre-reborn/" title="Tactics Ogre Reborn on Nintendo Switch">Nintendo Switch</a>, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/tactics-ogre-reborn/" title="Tactics Ogre Reborn on PS4">PlayStation 4</a>, and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps5/tactics-ogre-reborn/" title="Tactics Ogre Reborn on PS5">PlayStation 5</a>. Japanese gaming firm <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/square-enix/">Square Enix</a> launched Tactics Ogre: Reborn on November 10. It is the second remake of the 27-year-old, turn-based tactical game.

<q>(Tactics Ogre: Reborn brings) to life a new experience that Tactics Ogre veterans and a new generation of gamers alike will enjoy,</q> Square Enix said.

As a remake, the game features several enhancements in its graphics, gameplay mechanics, and soundtrack. These include an all-new user interface and an overhauled battle system. Moreover, developers have added fully-voiced cutscenes in English and Japanese. They also remastered the sound effects and re-recorded live the game's background music.

The class-wide level management system has been replaced with a unit-by-unit level system. In turn, players can Theorycraft 'endless combinations of classes, equipment, skills, and magic.'

Tactics Ogre: Reborn's latest version also allows players to backtrack their moves, a feature not found in the previous remake.

Developers have introduced the World Tarot, which they can use to go back to a specific point in the story. With the World Tarot, players can choose a different route than the one they took earlier.

Tactics Ogre: Reborn first came out in Japan in 1995 for <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/nintendo/">Nintendo</a>'s Super Famicom console as Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together. Super Famicom is known outside Japan as the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Nintendo_Entertainment_System">Super Nintendo Entertainment System (NES)</a>.

The second game in the Ogre Battle series, made by the now-defunct Quest Corporation, proved to be a critical success.

Its storied development and release also received wide attention. In 1995, several creators and developers, including director Yatsumi Matsuno, left Quest. Their departure from Quest came just months after the game's release.

Matsuno and the other key developers of Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together then produced Final Fantasy Tactics and Vagrant Story for Square.

In 2002, Square acquired Quest. In turn, employees from the second company met up with former coworkers who had moved to the first company.

Matsuno, however, left Square in 2005. However, in 2010, he returned as a freelancer to make the PlayStation Portable (PSP) remake of Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together.

2nd remake to the 30-year-old classic RPG

Tactics Ogre: Reborn Released for PC, Switch, PlayStation

Neowiz, a Korean game company, has announced the release date for <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/aka/">Aka</a>, a cozy simulation game where players take on the role of a red panda. According to the company, Aka will be available for <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/aka/">PC via Steam</a> and Nintendo Switch on December 15.

The announcement was made during the Nintendo Indie World Showcase last November 9. Over 20 indie games were soon to be released on the console, including Aka.

<q>Aka earned its place in the Showcase thanks to its lovingly crafted game world and thoroughly original story from Cosmo Gatto,</q> Neowiz said in a separate statement.

Aka was created and developed by Jean-François Barthelemy, the one-man team behind <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/cosmo-gatto/">Cosmo Gatto</a>. The game follows the story of Aka, the titular red panda. After retiring as a warrior, he begins a quest for inner peace. This means players need to do what most retired warriors usually do. They must find a suitable place to settle down, craft some items, tend to their garden, and relax.

Aka is also set in a small &mdash; <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/genre/open-world">open world</a> setting, featuring at least four islands. As players explore their surroundings and learn more about their past, they can talk to different people and learn more about their lives.

While the top-down <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/genre/simulation/">simulation game</a> does not have a linear storyline, Neowiz said players could take on narrative quests.

They also said mini-games had been added to the game as part of their promise to deliver an engaging yet insightful story in rich, hand-drawn graphics.

Neowiz unveiled their partnership with Barthelemy for Aka last April. Before Aka, Barthelemy's most notable work was the award-winning GitHub game A Trip to the Moon. Neowiz said that he had also worked as an animator for Dreamworks Studio.

In the meantime, Barthelemy continues to publish updates on the game's development on Twitter. Also, PC players can still access its <a href="https://store.steampowered.com/app/1591450/Aka/">demo version on Steam</a>.

Total War: Medieval II: Kingdoms will be available on <a href="https://whatoplay.com/android/total-war-medieval-ii/">Android</a> and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ios/total-war-medieval-ii/">iOS</a> on November 10, 2022, according to Feral Interactive and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/creative-assembly/">Creative Assembly</a>.

Mobile players can already purchase and download the game's massive expansion pack. Kingdoms feature at least four continental campaigns. These are the Americas, Britannia, Crusades and Teutonic.

<q>Each of these storied scenarios offers enormous replayability, with new factions and units competing on expanded maps, and a range of bespoke game mechanics in dramatic historical settings,</q> developers said.

On top of the new world campaigns, the downloadable content (DLC) offers 15 multiplayer maps. It also has a 1v1 multiplayer mode called the 'Hotseat Multiplayer.'

Like the PC version, Kingdoms on mobile will include at least 13 new factions, 50 new buildings, and over 60 new territories for players to explore.

Developers have told players who want to run the expansion to update their Total War: Medieval II mobile app. Kingdoms is currently priced at US$6.99.

Last April, the critically acclaimed <a href="https://whatoplay.com/android/genre/single-player">turn-based strategy</a> game Total War: Medieval II was released for mobile devices. The game first came out for PCs in 2006.

It is the second title in the Total War franchise with a mobile phone version. The first was Rome: Total War, launched in 2016 for iPad and eventually for smartphones in 2018.

Since its launch in 2000, the Total War series has sold over 37.8 million copies. Critics and enthusiasts praised it for its historical authenticity and gameplay quality.

More players can finally own a physical copy of <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/stray/">Stray</a>, the critically acclaimed game where players become cats. Annapurna Interactive, iam8bit, and Skybound Games all confirmed that they had released the retail physical edition for PS4 on November 8.

<a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/">PS4</a> owners can also buy it online at <a href="https://www.iam8bit.com/">iam8bit's official website</a>. Aside from the game, its physical copy contains six full-color art cards.

<q>Cat fanciers and fans of imaginative adventures can complete their purrfect Stray collection today,</q> distributors said in a press release. PS4 players can also upgrade the game to its new-gen version for free, distributors added.

According to earlier reports, the PS4 retail physical edition costs US$39.99. It is the second physical edition gaming companies have released for Stray. They launched a physical edition of the third-person adventure game earlier in September. However, it was exclusive to PS5 consoles only.

Due to popular demand, distributors announced later that they would also ship physical copies for the PS4 in November.

Meanwhile, iam8bit, the American creative production company, has begun accepting pre-orders for its Exclusive Edition of Stray.

In the fourth quarter of 2022, PS4 and PS5 owners will be able to buy the upcoming Exclusive Edition. It includes a poster, six art cards, and a fuzzy cat patch.

iam8bit will also release a double LP vinyl soundtrack by composer Yann Van Der Cruyssen. They said fans could expect to get their hands on this game collectible early next year.

After approximately seven years in development, Stray launched on <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/stray/" title="Stray on PC">PC</a>, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps5/stray/" title="Stray on PlayStation 5">PS5</a>, and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/stray/" title="Stray on PlayStation 4">PS4</a> last July. It was developed by BlueTwelve Studio and published by Annapurna Interactive. Players take control of a cat as it attempts to escape a walled city infested with mutant bacteria, deadly robots, and machines.

At that time, the game only had a digital version. Stray received wide, critical acclaim with a playscore of 8.9 on PC.

And they confirmed that players would get to explore Water Seven in the <a href="https://whatoplay.com/upcoming/rpg/">upcoming RPG game</a>. The two-minute trailer, published on YouTube on November 7, gave gamers and fans the first look into the iconic One Piece world.

Water Seven is the second canon-based location incorporated into the game. To recall, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/post/one-piece-odyssey-alabasta/">Bandai announced in October that the Kingdom of Alabasta</a>, another fan-favorite world, would be part of the <a href="https://whatoplay.com/upcoming/jrpg/">upcoming JRPG</a>.

In a press release, Bandai said the story for Water Seven in One Piece Odyssey would focus on Captain Monkey D. Luffy's search for Usopp and Robin.

The Japanese developer said that fans would be delighted to learn that familiar faces and locations will be coming to the game. The Franky Family and CP9 will make an appearance. Players can also explore the Gallery-La Company.

Meanwhile, new gameplay features have been added to the game. These include Zoro's Ashura Ichibugin technique and Luffy's Gear 2 transformation. Both can be unleashed during combat.

In One Piece Odyssey, the Straw Hat Crew finds themselves in Waford Island, a game-original setting. Then, players will go on quests that link the past and present of the shonen manga's storyline. As a turn-based RPG, they will also get to try and learn more about the storied members of the Straw Hat Crew.

Bandai will launch One Piece Odyssey on January 13, 2023. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/olliolli-world-finding-the-flowzone/">Finding the Flowzone</a> goes beyond Radlandia, according to the award-winning British developer. Players will have to skate through the skies and into the lost city of Radlantis. The 2D game's expansion pack also has new god-like characters and quests for the ultimate skating greatness.

<q>[It] will take players above the clouds to a lost mythical city that constantly challenges them to keep their footing as mighty winds bear down at nearly every ramp or rail,</q> said John Ribbins, Studio Creative Director at Roll7.

The main premise revolves around the players' journey to Radlantis. The Radmospheric Three - Captain Squid, Christopher Licht, and Professor Planks will join them. Once they reach Radlantis, they will not only encounter the tempest skate god, Gail Force. But also, they may find themselves competing with the skate gods for the Radlantis Rivals Cup.

Developers also added the Hall of Rad to entice players to cement their skating legacy. They need to conquer the complex Burly Routes to enter the Hall of Rad.

Aside from new challenges and characters, the game also includes more customization options.

Last October, Roll7 unveiled details about its second and last expansion for OlliOlli World.

OlliOlli World came out in February and received favorable reviews from gaming critics. Roll7 launched its first expansion pack, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/olliolli-world-void-riders/">Void Riders</a>, in June.

Skating With the Gods: Olliolli World's Final Expansion Pack Now Live

Players are in for another catastrophic episode for <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/surviving-the-aftermath/">Surviving the Aftermath</a>'s second expansion pack. And it will test their management skills anew. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/iceflake-studios/">Iceflake Studio</a> and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/paradox-interactive/">Paradox Interactive</a> launched Surviving the Aftermath: Shattered Hope on November 3. It is available for download on <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/surviving-the-aftermath/">PC</a>, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/xbox-one/surviving-the-aftermath/">Xbox One</a>, and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/surviving-the-aftermath/">PlayStation 4</a>.

It is the second downloadable content (DLC) for the popular survival colony-builder simulation. It was also released five months after New Alliance, its first expansion pack.

In Surviving the Aftermath: Shattered Hope, players will have to manage the outcome of a new disaster: the moon's destruction. However, the event brings them both new challenges and opportunities.

<q>This expansion builds upon the game's world with the Shattered Moon calamity, adding both the ability to boost resource production and the task of maintaining survivors' hope,</q> said Paradox Interactive.

The DLC also allows players to unlock a new quest called Shattered Hope. In it, they can explore and learn more about the moon's demise.

Surviving the Aftermath: Shattered Hope contains new resources for the colony, such as lunar dust. Players can use the felled moon rock deposits to improve productivity. They can turn them into valuable lunar dust, a highly sought-after material. Lunar dust can boost building efficiency and hasten production. According to developers, it can even shorten the healing period to 48 hours.

The latest expansion pack also introduces Hope as a new global value. Players will need to keep hopes high in their colony to protect it from Anguish.

<q>If (hope is) kept too low for too long, it will trigger a new condition called Anguish that, if left untreated, may turn your colonists hostile,</q> Paradox Interactive added. Aside from new additions to the game, Paradox Interactive said Surviving the Aftermath: Shattered Hope includes fixes and other gameplay improvements.

The original version of Surviving the Aftermath came out in 2021.

New features and enhanced visuals await players in the newest version of <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/call-of-the-wild-the-angler/">Call of the Wild: The Angler</a>. The game's developer, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/expansive-worlds/">Expansive Worlds</a>, released the latest edition on October 31. The creator dubbed the game's first significant update The Challenger.

The update's release came three months after Expansive Worlds launched the fishing <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/genre/simulation/">simulation game</a>. Much of its development came from community feedback, developers said.

<q>With The Challenger Update, we really tried to tackle some of the great feedback we've been getting from our wonderful community,</q> said Paul Rustchynsky, game director at Expansive Worlds. <q>We're humbled by their support and look forward to continuing to improve and expand the game,</q> he added.
