The simulator game Castle Renovator has finally made its way to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. On October 7, Ultimate Games S.A. released the PlayStation version of Castle Flipper under the new name "Castle Renovator."

The PlayStation launch came a year after the publication of its original game. Castle Flipper started as a flip simulator game for PCs.

(We are) responsible for preparing the game for release and publishing it on PlayStation 4, the developers said. Because of the console's backward compatibility feature, the title also runs on PlayStation 5, they added.

The Polish publisher also said the medieval-themed simulator game would hit Xbox consoles soon. But they have yet to provide further details on this.

Executives at Ultimate Games S.A. stated that the game's rebranding was designed to give players more creative freedom.

"Castle Renovator is a title that offers calm and relaxing gameplay," said COO Rafal Jelonek. With a new name, Jelonek also said they aimed to provide many hours of good entertainment. What makes the title stand out is not only its theme, but also the freedom it offers when it comes to creating and destroying buildings," he added.

Like in the original title, players in Castle Renovator become craftsmen tasked with rebuilding and renovating medieval structures. Both the main gameplay and free-form modes remain in Castle Renovator. From carrying out orders to creating their own settlements.

PlayStation players can also access period themes such as the Middle Ages, Baroque, and Renaissance. They can explore other locations like barns and pirate ships. Pyramid Games, also a Poland-based game creator, developed Castle Flipper. It rolled out in 2021. Castle Flipper received mixed reviews on Steam.

Gamers praised it for its beautiful graphics as well as its wide building area. But, they criticized it for "numerous technical glitches," saying these destroyed the entire gaming experience.

Castle Renovator Debuts on PS4, PS5

Korean developer SuperPlanet's newest mobile RPG, Airship Knights, will soon hit mobile devices. The developer announced that Airship Knights' pre-registration began on the Google Play Store and Apple's App Store on October 7.

Pre-registrations often mark a game's final stages before its full version's release. Players who sign up for these milestones may get exclusive rewards. It has also become a common practice among mobile gaming titles that are set to launch.

Airship Knights pays homage to classic Japanese RPGs like Final Fantasy, developers said. All contents, such as the main episodes, battles, and the aircraft enchantments, were created in the spirit of classical fantasy worlds, SuperPlanet wrote in a statement.

They also hoped it would appeal to fans of old-school JRPGs and similar genres. The idle voyage game will take players into a "magical steampunk world." Everything is drawn in a pixel-art style to take the nostalgia up a notch. As the title suggests, most of the story and combat revolve around the airship and the skies, from fighting monsters to igniting romantic quests.

SuperPlanet also promised to deliver a "speedy idle battle" in which players can defeat an enemy within 15 seconds. Meanwhile, SuperPlanet has yet to disclose further details about Airship Knights' release dates.

Last September 30, they released a 1-minute and 13-second trailer for Airship Knights on YouTube. It showed snippets of the upcoming title's gameplay.

Despite the return to a pre-pandemic state, the mobile gaming sector continues to grow. At the height of the pandemic, it was one of the industries that saw a rapid increase in growth and revenue. In fact, researchers forecasted it would account for 61 percent of the total market share of the gaming industry this year.

Airship Knights: Pre-registration Begins for the Upcoming Korean Steampunk

Cleaning sim Fresh Start is set to welcome players into a post-apocalyptic world soon. Publisher Awaken Realms will launch Fresh Start's Early Access mode this October 11. In a press release, the Poland-based game producer said the game would be available for download on Steam.

Fresh Start is the latest project by Chicken Launcher, the "mysterious" game developer behind the viral No Place Like Home. Based on their Steam page, the Early Access mode for the FPS simulator title will run for around three months.

Similar to its sister game, it will take place in the aftermath of an apocalypse. The players, in turn, will need to repair and restore the Earth's former glory.

Early Access mode will feature a single-player, FPS cleanup and repair simulator, as well as puzzles. Meanwhile, the developers hoped to have completed 75 percent of the game during its Early Access launch.

We also plan to expand the functionality and (sic) have additional game modes, portions of their FAQ on Steam read. Throughout the Early Access mode, they will also collect feedback from players in the hopes of releasing a final version that can 'meet requirements and expectations.'

The main goal is to deliver the final version free from bugs and problems that bother players, they said. Community feedback is crucial in the current state of the game and the way it is, and any kind of suggestions can be incredibly helpful and have a real impact on the final game, they added.

Details about the release of the full version of Fresh Start: Cleaning Simulator have yet to be announced.

10 Best PS4 War Games

Here are fifteen games you can play on older, low-end PCs. We tested these games on a rig with the following specs:

CPU: i3-7100

RAM: 4GB DDR3

HDD: 512 GB, 7200 rpm

GPU: Onboard Intel HD 630

15. Conan Chop Chop

Select warriors from Conan the Barbarian fights as stickmen to stop a raging wizard. It’s a chaotic roguelite best played with friends, on the couch and online.

As it is, Conan Chop Chop is still fun despite the bugs. Thankfully, issues are unrelated to its performance. It runs well at 60fps on our test machine, with only occasional drops in frame.

14. Serious Sam: Tormental

Another roguelite enters the list! Serious Sam: Tormental is bite-sized version… made for players who love games like Binding of Isaac, Enter the Gungeon, and other top-down shooters. With guns in hand, blast horrors and monsters imagined by the demigod of destruction.

Sadly, the game runs poorly on our machine at 1080. It’s barely playable with 22-27 frames per second, eating up the GPU and RAM at almost 100%. Setting the resolution to 900p brings the fps just above 30.

13. Trolley Problem, Inc.

Let’s take a break from the shooting and the carnage and decide the fate of millions. When faced with two dire options, what will you choose? Trolley Problem, Inc. is a game that will make you ponder the value and meaning of life. You might get a chuckle or two, or a moment of deep thought.

Despite mostly text and pictures, the game barely runs in fullscreen. You would need to play it in Window mode to break above 40 fps. You can lower the graphics and quality to further improve the game’s performance.

12. Floppy Knights

Remember floppy disks? I do! (I’m that old) I used to store Diablo saved games in them. Floppy Knights is, essentially, the same. Summon your knights from your floppy disks! It’s deck building, and turn-based strategy rolled into one.

Thankfully, you don’t need a floppy drive to run it. It played perfectly fine when we tested it.
No obvious frame drops, and it played at a near-constant 60fps.

11. Cat Cafe Manager

Feline friends are the best! Imagine this… your own cafe for these furballs! If you love games like Animal Crossing or the old Diner Dash titles, this is for you. Manage your cafe, befriend and house local cats, and keep your small business growing.

You don’t have to worry about your cats freezing on you. The game runs at 60 frames per second. There is an option to run the game at “low-performance” mode if you have an even older machine. Just be warned, the loading at start-up can take a long time.

10. A Musical Story

From cats to music! A Musical Story is a rhythm game set in the backdrop of the 70s. Relive the memories of Gabriel, the main character, one melody at a time. It’s a game with no words, just music, beautiful visuals, and 26 original songs.

It doesn’t need much to play it. A minimum of 4-gigs of RAM and integrated graphics. At default settings, framerate is between 40-60 fps. So you don’t have to worry about lag ruining your timings.

9. Jack Move

If you can’t run Cyberpunk 2077. Jack Move will quench your thirst for a neon-lit, dystopian world. Play as a vigilante hacker and bring down a mega-corporation. Its well-crafted story and unique take on turn-based JRPG makes for a satisfying play-through.

For a game about tech, it is optimized, running at a constant 60 frames per second. Even during turn-based battles, you won’t find any noticeable dips.

8. Grapple Dog

There’s something special about a dog with a grappling hook… on a mission to save the world (of course). It starts out easy and fun — seemingly made for kids. But difficulty slowly spikes and becomes really challenging later on.

Grapple Dog is a game that depends on precision. I’m happy to report that it runs with no issues at all, constant framerate all throughout.. So you can enjoy zipping across platforms with ease!

7. Kaiju Wars

Protect your city from Kaiju attacks! This turn-based strategy game was inspired by old Kaiju movies like Godzilla and Ultraman. If you played Into the Breach (another game that plays perfectly on older machines), Kaiju Wars shares a lot of similarities including visual style.

This one is tricky. It plays really well once you get past the long load times… The biggest problem we experienced was the laggy title screen, where framerate dropped below 20. Once you’re in, though, it hits around 40fps at 1080p and more than 60fps at lowest graphics and resolution.

6. Card Shark

From giant monsters to tricking nobles. This is a game of deceit, sleight of hands, and not getting caught! Use subtlety help your clients cheat in a game of cards. Manipulate the table and help them score the bag.

40 fps at 1080; scaling it down to 900p brings it to 50+ fps. Window mode doesn’t help either and the noticeable dips only happen during 2D sections. The card gameplay runs at 60fps.

5. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge

The turtles are back, and they’re doing it old-school. Like the days of arcades, it recreates the look and feels of the late 80s to early 90s video games. Playing with friends or online is a seamless experience. Drop in, drop out, and smack Shredder’s goons!

When we were testing games, I expected this to fail. Surprisingly, it plays really well, running smoothly at 60 fps. We’ve only tested single-player mode so expect a decrease in performance when playing multiplayer.

4. Dorfromantik

If turtle chaos is not for you. Check out this city builder designed to help you unwind. Build a village and expand by placing tiles in strategic locations. Dorfromantik is a game that gives you the option to either take on a challenge or play in creative mode for a relaxing session.

It runs at 30 fps and dips to 20 when you zoom in. This is when playing at default settings. Turning off anti-aliasing or VSync increases the frame-rate by 10. It is playable, but as your village expands, your PC will have to keep up.

3. Final Fantasy VI

Does this even need an introduction? If the remakes are too demanding for your gaming pc, this is good enough to scratch that Final Fantasy itch. Updated pixel arts; re-arranged soundtrack; and improved gameplay!

Despite the improved experience, it works well. Running at a stable 60 fps, even during overworld and turn-based combat. It’s living up to its ‘classic’ title.

2. Strange Horticulture

Ohhh. Of all the games in this list, this is my favorite! Man the counter of an herb dispensary. Identify plants, gather new samples, and help your community solve deathly mysteries. It’s a simple game that every plant-lover will enjoy!

It’s a point-and-click game, so it’s not surprising that it runs smooth. At default settings, it fluctuates between 30 to 40 fps. The dips happen during more complex scenes like opening the map, zooming in and out, and interacting with the plants.

1. OlliOlli World

This is best bang for your buck if you want to play a less demanding game. OlliOlli World is a vibrant skateboarding adventure. Skate fast and rack up points while performing snazzy moves. It’s tricky, but that’s always been the challenge with OlliOlli games.

But you need a controller to play it. At opening levels, it runs mostly between 50-60 fps. It does drop to around 40 when the map gets bigger. This is at default with Borderless Window, VSync, and at 1080p.

15 Awesome New Games to Play on Low-Spec PCs

An uninvited guest surprised players and developers of the hit FPS Overwatch 2 during its launch day on October 4, 2022. Executives from Blizzard Entertainment confirmed that Overwatch 2 was bogged down by mass-distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks.

Mike Ybarra, President of Blizzard Entertainment, revealed on Twitter, the culprit behind the series of failed matchmakings that marked the game's release.

"Unfortunately we are experiencing a mass DDoS attack on our servers. Teams are working hard to mitigate/manage. This is causing a lot of drop/connection issues," Ybarra tweeted. But a few hours later, Overwatch 2 director Aaron Keller gave an update on the incident. According to Keller, the game suffered another round of DDoS attacks.

DDoS is one of the most common types of cyber attacks. Also referred to as a "Distributed network attack," perpetrators use this tactic to disrupt the normal traffic of a server or a network. A DDoS overwhelms its target with excessive traffic, preventing legitimate users and visitors from accessing it.

In the meantime, Keller assured players they were doing their best to resolve these issues. "We're steadily making progress on server issues and stability, as well as working through a second DDoS attack," said Keller in a separate tweet. "We're all hands on deck and will continue to work throughout the night," he added.

The team has also started a thread on its dedicated community on Blizzard's website. This will allow players to report issues related to Overwatch 2's launch.

Overwatch is Blizzard Entertainment's fourth-largest franchise. The original game was released in 2016 with massive success.

Overwatch 2 is also touted as the biggest release in the gaming industry for this year. It is free-to-play on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.

Devs say progress has been made on server issues and stability.

DDDos Attacks Greet Overwatch 2 on Launch Day

Primal Game Studio has raised over US$140,000 for its upcoming side-scroller RPG title Mandragora. Based on its Kickstarter Campaign page, the Hungary-based game developer has received pledges from over 2,600 backers, amounting to a total of US$ 143,869 at the time of writing.

The creators from Primal Game Studio were elated by the overwhelming support they got from the community. "We're incredibly excited about the support we've received from our community," said Zoltan Zsuffa, CEO of Primal Game Studio.

Mandragora's latest crowdsourcing milestone will allow future players to take the role of an Inquisitor. The Inquisitor, the game's sixth playable class, is described as a "tanky fighter-priest." It is capable of close-range combat with its short sword and divine magic.

The Kickstarter Campaign for Mandragora will end on October 25.

Primal Game Studio said they would use the remaining days "in the hopes of unlocking further stretch goals" such as a survival mode and a fully-illustrated, in-game bestiary. Both can be unlocked once they reach US$ 180,000.

In the meantime, players who have dropped their pledges can receive various rewards, they added. These included closed beta access for Mandragora on PC, credit titles, and a chance to get featured as a non-player character (NPC) in the game.

"It's been great to see how many of our fans want to be a part of the development process, and we've been receiving amazing feedback on what we've shown of the game so far," Zsuffa added.

Work for Mandragora began in 2016 after what producers called an "inspiring" trip to Ireland. A combination of the Metroidvania and Soulslike genres, the 2.5D RPG title lets players enter Entropy's dark fantasy realm.

One of the longest-running fantasy MMORPGs, the Echo of Soul, has returned. Recently, Papaya Play, a gaming portal, launched the global service for the title. The news came a few months after Aeria Games of Gamigo discontinued hosting the Korean free-to-play game.

Based on earlier reports, Aeria Games' publishing license for Echo of Soul expired, prompting them to remove the massively multiplayer title from their platform last July.

Meanwhile, Papaya Play, in a press release, said players can still make character transfers from Aeria Games to their service. They will also provide incentives to gamers as a support for their transition. These included launching multiple events and free in-game perks.

"Echo of Soul players who log in regularly during the first month are eligible to receive $5 in game currency each week," added Papaya Play. Papaya Play is the gaming service and distributing arm of Vertigo Games America. According to their website, they currently have over 13 million users.

Echo of Soul was first released to gamers in South Korea in 2013. Like other MMORPGs, the game has "highly competitive PVP modes," party and solo dungeons, and more than 1,600 quests. It was so successful that in 2014 it was introduced in China.

As the game's popularity grew, Aeria Games decided to offer it to players in North America and Europe in 2015. In 2015, the same year it launched its servers in North America and Europe, it was temporarily shut down in South Korea. In 2016, the title was relaunched by another Korean publisher, Kakao Games.

In Echo of Soul, Players take control of the gameplay as Soulkeepers. Their task is to combat evil in the world. Echo of Soul received critical praise from the gaming community. It even bagged the title as the Best MMORPG in 2014 at the Thailand Game Show Festival.

Echo of Soul Respawns in Papaya Play

Due to low demand, Google has decided to shut down its cloud gaming service, Stadia, early next year. Players have until January 18, 2023, to access and play their games, the tech giant announced last September 29.

Stadia Vice President and General Manager, Phil Harrison, said they have started issuing refunds for hardware, games, and add-on purchases made on Google and Stadia stores.

"We expect to have the majority of refunds completed by mid-January, 2023," Harrison said.

Stadia's impending shutdown also meant many of its team members would transfer to other departments in Google. Stadia's creators cited poor traction as the reason they decided to pull its plug. Despite describing it as an innovation that "transcends gaming."

"While Stadia's approach to streaming games for consumers was built on a strong technology foundation, it hasn't gained the traction with users that we expected," said Harrison.
"So, we've made the difficult decision to begin winding down our Stadia streaming service," he added.

Stadia may stop its operations, but other Google products, like YouTube and Google Play, stand to benefit from its technology.

"We see clear opportunities to apply this technology across other parts of Google... as well as make it available to our industry partners, which aligns with where we see the future of gaming headed," Harrison said.

Google's decision to shut down Stadia came three years after its launch in 2018. Stadia is an ambitious attempt to cater to the increasing demand for cross-platform gaming. It enables gamers to access titles on any device as long as they have Google Chrome or other Google cloud services.

The Stadia team even introduced a dedicated controller to improve its gameplay experience. But since its launch, Stadia has received wide criticism from professionals and enthusiasts. They pointed out, among other things, poor image quality and low latency.
