  • Mists of Pandaria continues the long tradition of Warcraft in a great way for veteran players. I don’t know that too many new players will be joining WoW in this expansion, but it does favor the fan base. We will see how Blizzard handles patches and updates in the coming months and into 2013. My hope is that in 2014 Blizzard will truly deliver a knock out punch for the game’s ten year anniversary. If they are also launching Titan around that time it will be a very interesting year indeed.

  • Rather than veering in a completely different direction and risking alienation of longtime fans, the core concept is focused on solidarity. Blizzard chose to aim for what WOW fanatics enjoy about the world itself and what could be done to improve it as a whole, even if that meant stepping out of a comfort zone filled with orcs and dwarves to broaden some horizons. A new race, an additional playable class, story-rich questing, and a menagerie of things to do work together to ensure that Mists of Pandaria is another quality World of Warcraft expansion.

  • All of the recent advancements in gameplay from other MMOs has made WoW go out of vogue. The similarity to a certain animated character voiced by Jack Black makes it easy to dismiss Mists of Pandaria as childish, which is a shame because it is World of Warcraft's most well-designed expansion to date.

t’s also the best questing in World of Warcraft, with strong emphasis on storytelling, resulting in an entertaining run from 85 to 90 that seldom tumbles into tedium. While not all the new systems dazzle, more than anything, Mists proves that Blizzard’s venerable MMO is still one of the best around, a mix of breezy questing, top tier class design, and multiple systems to encourage the cutthroat competition that props up the end game.

  • Previous World of Warcraft releases have been genuine events. This one is simply an expansion pack. A good expansion pack, for sure, with lots of content to keep you playing one of the best and most beloved MMOs ever created. Just don't expect it to be anything more.

  • If you and some buddies feel like dipping back into WOW, MOP offers some pretty enticing incentives to do so. Even if you only resubscribe for a month, you’ll feel like you’ve gotten your money’s worth thanks to the 40-hour (taking time to smell the lore roses) journey to conquering Pandaria. It might be showing signs of age, but that doesn’t mean WOW can’t learn a few new entertaining tricks.

One way I've described this expansion is that rather than it seeming like a new chapter in the large book of WoW, it seems like you're picking up a whole new novel. Mists might not be able to keep me interested for all that long with some of the other competing MMOs on the market out there, but for now, it has me happily and hopelessly addicted to WoW again . . .at least for a little while.

  • Blizzard won't be retiring World of Warcraft anytime soon, of course, but the company does seem to realize the game might not be on top for much longer—they're already hard at work on a next-gen MMO. Until then, Mists of Pandaria will give WoW fans plenty to do, even if newer players will be tempted to join a different game.

  • World of Warcraft is a well-maintained but very old machine, and the decision of whether or not to depart Ogrimmar’s salty shores will ultimately fall on something irrational and personal. You won’t regret your excursion to these ursine lands if you’ve still got the spirit of exploration, the scars, and the fond feelings of battle etched into your heart. Those less into the prospect of jumping into WoW yet again may just as well stay in hibernation.

  • Not only because the World Of Warcraft experience is still a very strong, enriching and satisfying experience but because of all the iterations that Warcraft has gone through this is the one that is most welcoming to new players and returning raiders. The old wrinkles may be more noticeable than ever but the game itself is still a blast to play. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go find the auction house.

    About the game

Unleash the secrets of a lost continent in the fourth expansion pack to the blockbuster MMO World of Warcraft. Shrouded in fog since the world was sundered more than ten thousand years ago, the ancient realm of Pandaria has remained unspoiled by war. Its lush forests and cloud-ringed mountains are home to a complex ecosystem of indigenous races and exotic creatures. It is the homeland of the enigmatic Pandaren, a race that celebrates life to the fullest even while under siege by an ancient menace.
