- This is still just a taste of the amusingly wild (occasionally jarring) ride that is World of Goo 2. The game starts things off slowly, providing a goo-laden “bridge” for veterans of the original and newcomers. But after the first fairly tame chapter, the game hits the ground running, launching players into a slew of exponentially off-kilter bouts, throwing gooey curve balls to keep gamers on their toes. While it can get a bit out of control — and sometimes fails to delve more deeply into certain concepts that do work — the ride is still thrilling and satisfying as a whole. World of Goo 2 is worthy sequel to its classic predecessor, while also standing tall (albeit a bit wobbly) as a distinct experience.

Un notable videojuego de puzles basados en físicas que, como su título original, es una apuesta segura para los que busquen ese “algo más” en formato videojuego. Eso sí, debemos aceptar las contratiempos que puedan desprenderse del control mediante Joy-Con en Nintendo Switch, siendo mucho más recomendable con un ratón en PC por precisión y rapidez, perdiendo así lo intuitivo de un control directo apuntando a pantalla, además de ciertas bajadas de rendimiento que pueden resultar molestos, especialmente en la consola de Nintendo.

Hra ponúka kvalitný zážitok s prepracovaným príbehom, ktorý sa hrá s časom a priestorom, pričom od hráča vyžaduje premýšľanie. Hoci je cena 26,99 € vyššia, než sa očakáva od indie hry, kvalita a dĺžka ju ako tak vyvažujú. Hra má jednoduché a intuitívne ovládanie, ale nejasné pokyny môžu spomaliť postup. Estetika a hudba zostávajú verné pôvodnej hre, pričom si zachovávajú nadčasový a príťažlivý dizajn.

Whilst the sequel had the chance to become something completely new, as seen in Chapter 4, it instead chooses to largely stick with familiarity. This is far from a bad thing but may hold the title back from reaching its full potential. The game is worth a play if you have the time, and hopefully, the unique and new direction that the game teases is something 2D Boy is willing to continue to push toward in future releases.
Erielle Sudario · Aug 13, 2024 Reviewed on PCRead full review - The biggest innovation here is spelled out by the "liquid Goo" that makes up large parts of quite a few of the physics-based puzzles, something that wasn't the case in the more technically primitive original. I like this improvement, but I doubt it's enough to make this feel like a proper sequel that we've waited nearly 16 years for. There is untapped potential here, there is some repetition and although parts are charming, I can't really say that I feel particularly entertained after a few hours of World of Goo 2, as if anything it feels a bit old. I'm certainly not a big puzzle player but that doesn't mean I feel particularly uncomfortable handing out ratings to this type of game, and overall World of Goo 2 feels "okay" in my world. No more, no less.

GameCentral · Aug 05, 2024 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Bałam się, że sięgnięcie po „dwójkę” sprawi, iż pomyślę sobie „to już nie to samo World of Goo” czy „w dzieciństwie wydawało się to dużo lepsze”, ale nic takiego nie nastąpiło. Przeciwnie, z uśmiechem na twarzy przykleiłam się do ekranu, ledwie tylko usłyszałam pierwsze dźwięki soundtracku utrzymanego w charakterystycznym dla tej produkcji klimacie. Nie pamiętam, kiedy jakaś gra sprawiła mi tyle najprostszej, szczenięcej radości, jednocześnie nie powodując, że poczułam się prowadzona za rączkę i potraktowana jak dziecko. Gram w WoG2, wciąż męczę się z jednym poziomem i znów mam jedenaście lat. Z tą różnicą, że już nie muszę czekać na dzwonek kończący ostatnią lekcję, by lecieć do domu i grać – całe szczęście.
