- Watch Dogs: Legion sees DedSec return to a hugely impressive representation of near-future London that looks and sounds amazing but can't long cover for the fact the core gameplay here is repetitive, janky stuff that's barely evolved since the days of Aiden Pearce. Traversal is hampered by uninspired, tanky vehicles, combat is scruffy, enemy AI disappointing, and hacking and sneaking highly repetitive.
PJ O'Reilly · Jun 15, 2021 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - The Online mode from Watch Dogs: Legion brings you the opportunity to play with up to four people. You can do unique missions and playlists together, or just have some fun. While the spider bot shooting arena seems original, the ‘normal’ missions are either a bit bland or have a touch of “unfair” to them, quickly making them less fun to spend time on. The addition of a loot-for-rank (playtime) system that’s split up into seasons made us turn away even more.
Pimp Without The Pee · Feb 23, 2021 Reviewed on PCRead full review - What you end up with is an experience that shows a ton of promise, but ends up being entirely average. It’s hard to call Watch Dogs Legion a bad game outright. It’s a serviceable, if traditional, open-world game with a boring story and novelty mechanics that play out better on paper than in execution. The PS5 version makes expected improvements to visuals and load times, but isn’t a standout example of a “next-gen” title.
Chandler Wood · Nov 27, 2020 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - Watch Dogs: Legion does most things right. The hacking component works amazingly well, letting players infiltrate locations with minimal attention from guards patrolling the areas when done correctly. Sneaking around and using the available cover works satisfactorily too, giving players the opportunity to take out guards one at a time.
William Thompson · Nov 27, 2020 Reviewed on PCRead full review - With how close Legion is releasing to Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla and Immortals Fenyx Rising it feels like Watch Dogs: Legion was left to fight for your attention and your money with less money put into development. I would recommend both Watch Dogs 1 & 2 as well as plenty of other Ubisoft experiences from the last few years before Legion at full price.
Anthony Mann · Nov 25, 2020 Reviewed on XB1Read full review - The various disguises are helpful stealth aids, and the summonable flying drone makes it easy to collect stuff from roofs. But they’re trivially easy to replace. I have to do some busywork quest to get another character with that skill. Or not. It doesn’t matter enough to actually do it. And when I realize things don’t matter and I’m furthermore never going to care, it’s a pretty short trip to the uninstall option.
Tom Chick · Nov 15, 2020 Reviewed on PCRead full review - watch dogs legion, like most of ubisoft’s big budget games, is disposable – a value-sized bag of chips. the gameplay experience is pleasurable and addicting by nature, making you want to play even if you don’t feel like it. and when you get sick of it, you just throw it away.
Jack Fennimore · Nov 12, 2020 Reviewed on PC - All in all, Watch Dogs: Legion is a brilliant third instalment to the franchise. I am loving the fact you can play as pretty much anyone, but I have yet to find my favourite character that I 100% want to always play. But with so many to choose from I think I will be constantly changing. The story is interesting and the hacking is smooth and rewarding. For me, this is a must-play.
Ian Wray · Nov 10, 2020 Reviewed on XB1Read full review - The graphics of the game are very solid although some of the character facial animations seem a bit dated at times but in no way detract from the game. In the end Watch Dogs: Legion is a winning new entry in the series and I look forward to the online option of the game which is due in December.
gareth · Nov 09, 2020 Reviewed onRead full review - Watch Dogs Legion is a fun and satisfying open world sandbox, with lots of tools for destruction and various strategies to go about completing your objective. It’s great in short bursts, but rarely has you hooked on any one thing to keep you coming back.
