- While undoubtedly nectar of the gods for series fans, the incremental tweaks and polishes to the game's mechanics that a decade of sequels grants make it by far the most rewarding and investible Musou game to date for all-comers. Cameoing superstars, UI hangnails and wobbly minor faults neither boost nor detract from the core pleasure of dispensing with a stage with expediency and flamboyant grace, picking up pages of rewards in the process.
Edge Staff · Aug 26, 2012 Reviewed on X360 - It’s a game that Warriors aficionados will get the most out of, then, but as well as offering amazing fan service, this also represents the ideal entry point for new players. If you only play a single Warriors game, with such an abundance of content, Warriors Orochi 3 has to be the one. And for those who’ve played the rest, be assured that you’re about to experience the best – because this is a new peak for Omega Force and for the Warriors series.
Chris Schilling · Apr 05, 2012 Reviewed on PS3Read full review - While there's plenty of new stuff, it won't be enough to win the hearts of the series' many vocal detractors. However, fans should not hesitate to pick this entry up, and those looking for a ridiculous amount of mindless hacking action will find a treasure trove of violence in this massive offering.
Jim Sterling · Mar 28, 2012 Reviewed on PS3Read full review - Warriors Orochi is certainly not a bad game; it's just a stale game. It's a gameplay formula that we have seen before on an engine that is incredibly outdated. Anyone who has sunk hours of their life into a Dynasty Warriors game in the past will have a ton of fun with this game, especially when they unlock characters like Ryu Hayabusa. However, if you've slowly been getting bored with the Dynasty Warriors line, this game won't do much to reinvigorate your interest.
Angelo M. D'Argenio · Mar 26, 2012 Reviewed on PS3Read full review - For fans, Warriors Orochi 3 refines the combat in exciting new ways, while the time-travel concept makes the battlefields even more dynamic and challenging. As such, for the faithful, it comes highly recommended. It's newcomers who should really consider giving this a try, though. Carve your way through the crude visuals, archaic menus and seemingly inexplicable features and you may just find your new favourite game.
Dan Whitehead · Apr 11, 2012 Reviewed on PS3Read full review - The over-the-top madness, enormous scale battles, and – bizarrely enough – gibberish storyline all have varying levels of charm. Sadly the overly familiar mechanics and uninspired level design somewhat undermine all of this. Still, the game does feature a level of slaughter that would put even Hot Shots Part Deux to shame, and for that it does deserve at least a one-handed clap.
Joel Gregory · Mar 30, 2012 Reviewed on PS3 - Warriors Orochi 3 is a wonderful conclusion to a great series. If you’re a fan of the Warriors games it’s a definite must have. Even for those who are new to the series, this is a wonderful game for your action fix.
