- Tactical, turn-based combat set in outer space with a Wild West setting can be a hard sell. Thankfully, Image & Form nailed it with SteamWorld Heist: Ultimate Edition. It still possesses engaging and strategic combat, and improves nicely on the 2015 original for Nintendo 3DS. The new character is a nice addition to the team, and his laser-based weapons and cool new abilities will have you continuously implementing him into your final line-up.
Peter Lopez · Jan 11, 2018 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - SteamWorld Heist has very few flaws, especially if a turn based robot strategy game is what you’re looking for. If we must pick on something, it’s the inventory system and the fact that you never have enough space for new equipment. We think that SteamWorld Heist is the perfect game for the Nintendo Switch, and everyone who owns one should buy a copy. It performs magnificently and continues to impress, even with our previous experience on other consoles. Buy the game and get that drink.
Ben Smith · Dec 28, 2017 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - With five difficulty levels and randomly generated ships, I can honestly recommend SteamWorld Heist to anyone. The world is rich, the combat is engaging and the portability of the Switch pairs perfectly with the short missions (even if the game is beautiful on a big TV). Plug in your headphones and play this game.
Adam Abou-Nasr · Dec 28, 2017 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - SteamWorld Heist was an excellent game when it launched in 2015, and it’s still excellent today on the Switch. Offering a familiar world and style with a new way to play amid the robots, it’s a strategy game that belongs on every Switch.
William Murphy · Dec 27, 2017 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - SteamWorld Heist: Ultimate Edition is a fantastic port of a fantastic game, and it fits perfectly on the Switch. Deep, engaging gameplay and stylish presentation combine to make this one of the standout indie releases of the year; this is a great example of a well put-together game. If you are at all a fan of strategy games, or are just looking for a fun diversion to occupy your time over the next couple weeks, pick up this game. It puts a neat twist on standard turn-based strategy gameplay, and stands as another fantastic entry in the SteamWorld series.
Mitch Vogel · Dec 27, 2017 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - I highly recommend SteamWorld Heist if you are a fan of turn-based strategy RPGs and love some humorous steampunk robots and space pirates.
Christine Chan · Nov 16, 2016 Reviewed on iOSRead full review - In a word, Steamworld Heist is great. From the world to the characters to the style to the gameplay, it’s a lot of fun and pretty much a no-brainer if you like turn-based tactics. Or robots. Or Firefly. Really, the only reason I’d suggest giving it a pass is if you already own it for another platform.
Rob Rich · Nov 16, 2016 Reviewed on iOSRead full review - It's very easy to look past Heist's flaws and just enjoy it for what it is. It looks and plays great, particularly in this mobile format, and its New Game+ feature will make sure you have plenty of robotic strategy action to work through even after finishing the main game.
Campbell Bird · Nov 10, 2016 Reviewed on iOSRead full review - SteamWorld Heist is an excellent version of a superb, extremely creative strategy game. It's approachable enough that I would even recommend it to those who aren't necessarily followers of the strategy genre, but deep enough that it's a no-brainer for veteran fans.
Shaun Musgrave · Nov 10, 2016 Reviewed on iOSRead full review - Image and Form has been on their game with the SteamWorld series for years, and this is the definitive version of their best game to date. SteamWorld Heist is one of the best things any download service has to offer.
