- Resident Evil 3 for the Switch 2 brings the 2020 remake to Nintendo’s latest hybrid console. The Resident Evil series has such a long, varied history that see

Leo Faria · Oct 18, 2026 Reviewed on Switch 2Read full review - Resident Evil 3 Remake Nintendo Switch 2 Edition - Our Review - Main Image Resident Evil 3 Remake is, without a shadow of a doubt, the ugly duckling of the modern RE entries.
Andrés Aquino · Oct 15, 2026 Reviewed on Switch 2Read full review - Overall, don’t bother with this one if you haven’t played any of the prior Resident Evil games.
Andrés Aquino · Oct 14, 2026 Reviewed on Switch 2Read full review - Is Switch 2 the new best place to play Resident Evil 3 remake?
Toby Andersen · Oct 13, 2026 Reviewed on Switch 2Read full review - Stars don't shine. It’s generally accepted that Resident Evil 3 is the worst of the series’ modern remakes. While RE2 and 4 both expanded upon their respective originals, RE3 made several cutbacks to environmental design, campaign structure, and the behaviour of the main antagonist, Nemesis.
Ollie Reynolds · Oct 13, 2026 Reviewed on Switch 2Read full review - The Resident Evil 3 remake runs very well on Nintendo Switch 2 and looks pretty solid to boot — here’s how I’d rate it after more than 10 hours of play.
Harry Padoan · Oct 13, 2026 Reviewed on Switch 2Read full review - Resident Evil 3 is a solid remake that aptly pays homage to the original RE3 by failing to live up to its immediate predecessor. While the core gameplay remains strong, with engaging gun controls and a new dodge mechanic that very much feels at home, Raccoon City itself feels disappointingly constrained and its star performer, the Nemesis, has been relegated to scripted sequences.
Ollie Reynolds · Nov 21, 2022 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - If you’re looking for the authentic Resident Evil experience, this is definitely not it. But if you have a Resident Evil itch that you just need to scratch, this could provide lots of hours of entertainment for you, even without the Resident Evil Resistance standalone experience. But at the end of the day, I’d rather just play the excellent Resident Evil 2 Remake, or even the original Resident Evil 3 on my old PS2 instead.
Chad Norton · Apr 15, 2020 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Resident Evil 3 is a historically important game and its story is interesting. Had it come before Resident Evil 2, perhaps I would have been fonder of it. But as is, it feels like it doesn’t do as much or go as far as its predecessor, an issue exacerbated by the removal of some of its challenging and unique elements. It is worth playing, but people should enter with tempered expectations.
