  • Rock Lee’s silly tale hasn’t made an appearance in any games yet, so this is something that is fresh for fans of the series too. At the end of the day Naruto: Powerful Shippuden delivers a fun and unique brawling experience that 3DS gamers and Naruto fans alike shouldn’t miss out on as it is fairly entertaining.

  • Naruto: Powerful Shippuden does one thing exactly right, and that's the humour. The actual gameplay gets a bit too repetitive too quickly, but a fun storyline and a personal goals feature do their best to keep things interesting.

  • It may not be a perfect brawler, but it's certainly a fun one, and one that any Naruto fan would enjoy. Don't let the art style dissuade you from enjoying the action here, as the RPG-esque elements of stat boosting and defense increases add a special something that future games in the genre should take note of.

Naruto: Powerful Shippuden is a breath of fresh air for both longtime fans of the show and brawlers in general. It’s as interesting outside of its missions as in them, with unique experience-point investing and gambling mechanics that future games in this genre should look to for inspiration.

Forget the licence behind it, this is a lovely little 2D brawler, a genre we see far too little of on 3DS
