- Given the Wii U's processing power, it would have been nice to see a sharper, more detailed visual presentation, but the difference is so minimal, it's hardly worth complaining. Suffice it to say, if you're a Madden NFL fan and you own a Wii U, this is definitely a title you're going to want to at least consider adding to your game library.
Corbie Dillard · Jan 30, 2013 Reviewed on Wii URead full review - Overall, Madden NFL 13 stands as a solid football game for Nintendo’s newest console. The Connected Careers mode and the GamePad’s touchscreen features make for a game football fans will absolutely enjoy. Is this version as good as the PS3 or Xbox 360 versions of the game? Well not quite but a solid foundation has been laid and there is no doubt the Madden franchise will have a pretty good run on the Wii U for years to come.
Trevor Houston · Dec 15, 2012 Reviewed onRead full review - The Madden franchise has tons of potential on the Wii U, and a solid foundation has been laid for the future. With a few key adjustments to play-calling, frame-rate, and physics, it’s possible that the Wii U could host the most interesting Madden version next fall. In the meantime, Madden’s debut on Nintendo’s brand-new system is good for a bit of fun but won’t last for the long term.
Rich Grisham · Nov 23, 2012 Reviewed on X360, Wii U, VitaRead full review - Madden NFL 13 does something the Madden franchise hasn't done in years: it makes me want to keep playing. Yes, the commentators will repeat themselves and funky animations are going to pop up, but the game as a whole is so good. The Wii U drops the physics, but it adds some nifty GamePad functionality. Nintendo's version could run smoother, though.
GREG MILLER · Nov 21, 2012 Reviewed onRead full review - Madden NFL 13 is the first Wii U port we’ve played that uses the console to make a notable impact on gameplay. Instead of simply throwing in disposable features, time was taken to ensure the GamePad was utilized to its full potential.
Steve Hannley · Nov 19, 2012 Reviewed on Wii URead full review - At the end of the day Madden NFL 13 Vita might just be one of the best games on the little console. It's definitely not the game that players were hoping for, and very few of players will probably feel the need to purchase a copy for their PS3 and a separate one for the Vita, but if you're looking for a way to kill a few hours at work, Madden NFL 13 is probably as good a choice as any.
Josh Engen · Sep 05, 2012 Reviewed on VitaRead full review - Madden NFL 13 is a step forward for this franchise. It's a small, clumsy step, but considering how little forward progress this series has made in recent years, any kind of step is a cause for minor celebration. If you can forgive the technical problems and often cumbersome menus, there's a football game worth liking here.
Alex Navarro · Aug 27, 2012 Reviewed on X360Read full review - The Infinity engine is shot in the arm the dulled, increasingly frustrated core gameplay needed. It makes plays more dynamic, fluid, realistic, and satisfying. Pairing a revolutionized base framework with the deep, much more fulfilling Connected Careers mode only gives players a good reason to keep playing. Madden 13 is breaking its way into the upper echelon of sports games.
Steven Hansen · Aug 25, 2012 Reviewed on PS3Read full review - If you answered yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, and yes, then Madden NFL 13 is a fantastic game and you should buy it right away. It’s not a generational leap, but there’s enough new for returning armchair quarterbacks and enough good for fans even mildly interested in simulating their favorite sport.
Daniel Bischoff · Aug 24, 2012 Reviewed on PS3Read full review - Both Madden 12 and Madden 13 are incomplete experiences, but in different ways. The former wasn’t a good game, whereas this year’s title introduces several aspects that need to be improved instead of scrapped. New passing gameplay similar to NCAA 13 opens up the field for QBs, and the XP system is a benchmark for the franchise.
