It’s a shame that the experience of LBP 3 couldn’t be a little more polished or the story mode just a little longer, because these are the only two blemishes on an otherwise excellent addition to the series. If you can look past these, you have hours and hours of content and fun at your fingertips, alone or with a friend.

  • LittleBigPlanet 3 is a great creative experience packaged with an unfortunate single-player experience as its forward-facing section and buggy co-op play, both which significantly hamper what is otherwise an excellent creative experience and game-design as play. For people who want an easy entry into learning how to build games, it's a fantastic tool and highly recommended, but as a game its flaws (and game-breaking bugs) keep it from excelling.

  • All of the building blocks for a great LittleBigPlanet game are here, but they're not provided in a big enough quantity to be satisfying. Fingers crossed that the community feel the void with exciting levels in the months to come.

  • Judging by its content alone, LittleBigPlanet 3 is easily the greatest value for your money this year. But beyond that, it’s a fun, deep, and endlessly charming experience that has plenty of ways to entertain and amuse you. This is the PlayStation 4’s first must-buy title.

  • LBP3 reaches new highs for the series by delivering some of the best levels and gameplay yet seen, but also disappoints with a fleeting campaign. The push for users to deliver the content is greater than ever, and the tools to do so are superb, but it's hard not to want more. Considering there's so much here if you look at the package as a whole, that might seem greedy, but this isn't being sold as just a creation suite.

  • The legacy of LittleBigPlanet lives on, serving as a bold statement that platforming doesn’t need to be punishingly difficult or controversial to be fun or groundbreaking. With the challenge of bringing such a distinct franchise to a brand new platform while retaining all of the things that have made it great, including the hard work of the community, all things really were considered. We look forward to a bright future in the Imagisphere.

The incredibly brief story also puts the emphasis more than ever on individual creation and community content. ...This is undoubtedly the best entry in the series, giving an unparalleled creative experience on console. But it's also the most confusing. More accessible, terrifying, approachable and incomprehensible than ever. There's plenty of creative fun to be had, but if you're going to take it really seriously then it's going require a lot of blood, sweat and stitches.

  • LittleBigPlanet 3 is an endearing and charming game that will work its way into your heart thanks to its presentation and new characters. ...While Oddsock, Toggle and Swoop are solid additions, they’re underutilized in the core experience. LittleBigPlanet 3 is a good game, but stops short of being a great one.

  • Sumo Digital has done a great job on LBP3 by bringing back the old in addition to their new content. Meanwhile, some small details and charm are missing that fans of the series might pick up on. The numerous bugs and glitches were not pleasant at all and quite evident, but I am confident future updates will eliminate the issues.

  • LittleBigPlanet 3 is a quite major step forward for the series. The story might not explore all of the potential, but briefly shines a light on what the new possibilities might be for those making their own levels. The wide array of new tools, the removal of limitations and addition of new characters and power-ups will all serve to empower the community to reach new heights.
