- Teamwork does, in fact, make the dream work
Sarah Thwaites · Mar 04, 2025 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - It Takes Two is a great co-op game to add to your Nintendo Switch library. It could even be something fun for you and your special someone to do on rainy days, or even a weekly date night.
Kaelyn Daugherty · Dec 28, 2022 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - It Takes Two is a very fun game that should honestly be about half its length, but the Switch very much does not feel like the place you should go to play it. The major graphical downgrades and added loading screens make it hard to recommend no matter how good the gameplay feels or how clever the writing is.
Joe Devader · Nov 29, 2022 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - It Takes Two is a fantastic co-op game, and feels right at home on Switch. Sadly the visuals take a big hit, but in return you get a few more options on how to play. It still remains difficult to get a co-op partner for the full game let alone enough controllers, however if you can manage you’re in for a great time.
David Flynn · Nov 03, 2022 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - It’s brimming with fun, uniquely committed to co-op gaming, plays solidly and distinctively, and usually discards one cool idea in favor of another before there’s time to get bored.
Roland Ingram · Nov 02, 2022 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - The game's local wireless option is especially exciting, as it finally offers players the opportunity to play together locally on separate screens. Thematically, It Takes Two seems like a perfect fit for Nintendo, with its bright, goofy visuals, distinctive style, and whacky gameplay.
VIRGINIA DORAN · Nov 02, 2022 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - It Takes Two takes the tried and true action/adventure-puzzler genre and turns it into possibly the most collaborative split-screen co-op game ever created. Coupled with the presented marital issues between the main characters that make for fantastic springboards to discuss with your own Player 2, It Takes Two will strongly resonate with just about anyone who picks up a controller.
Heather Johnson Yu · Jan 05, 2022 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - It Takes Two may not be the platforming juggernaut that it aspires to be, but it more than makes up for it with its big heart, wealth in variety, and gorgeous imagery. All of its individual actions are things we’ve done in other games, but when applied to this distinct cooperative approach, they take on a whole new life and are used in wonderful ways over a long adventure.
Andrew Reiner · Dec 10, 2021 Reviewed on Series X|S - It Takes Two is an absolute delight. The consistently creative gameplay is on par with, if not better than any co-op experience available on Xbox today, and if you have a partner in mind to play it with (don't forget they can access a free "Friend's Pass" if playing online), we think you'll have a real blast with it.
Fraser Gilbert · Nov 02, 2021 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - In conclusion, It Takes Two manages to deliver everything a great co-op game should with the unexpected plot twists, consistently entertaining story and a great sense of humour. I can guarantee you that you and whoever you’ll play it takes two with will be fully entertained.
