  Heck Deck is a minimalistic but brutal bullet-hell card game where time only moves when we move, and all enemy bullets are represented as cards.

  Heck Deck still shouldn’t work. It shouldn’t be as much fun as it is, but here we are. These are crazy times indeed. Give it a download and find out for yourself how two completely opposite ideas can gel together to create something really special.

  Heck Deck has a lot of neat ideas going on, but their implementation within a run-based design makes for a game that feels overly punishing. It simply isn't exciting to start the game anew when you die. For a game that is built around replayability, this is a huge problem. Heck Deck is very cool and fun in a lot of respects, but this core design problem makes me want to put it down more often than not.

  Sin embargo, personalmente no he podido ir más allá de esa fricción entre géneros, y por eso creo que he disfrutado Heck Deck de una forma mucho más fría de lo que me habría gustado. Su brevedad juega a su favor —y nunca sugiere siquiera una profundidad o amplitud mayor de la que ofrece; otro punto para él—, y saber simplemente que existe algo así me alegra; creo que puede encontrar su público en quienes gustamos de los experimentos y las rarezas, pero más allá de eso no revela nada nuevo ni llega a ningún hallazgo particularmente interesante.
